Where I get my bitch on.

Some people get their freak on, today, I get my bitch on.

1. Stargate Atlantis. I don't get the appeal. I've tried, repeatedly. It bored me to tears. That's not my beef though, because I have my most beloved Battlestar Galactica. What is killing me is that everyone, and I do mean pretty much every fucking person I know, is loving this show with an unholy passion, and they're turning that unholy passion into stories that I can't read! [livejournal.com profile] lyra_sena wrote fucking guitar porn! [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock has some crazy series about strippers (that is what that's about, yeah? I'm only going off the title). [livejournal.com profile] seperis is writing, like, assassin-fic or something. And here I am with nothing! That sucks. But you'll never get me to that show, so.

2. Speaking of shows I don't fancy, Firefly is another one. This isn't me telling people that they can't be all happy about Serenity, since apparently if SGA isn't your show, this one is. I mean everyone has their space show, and even [livejournal.com profile] ethrosdemon likes this one (or maybe that's just Nathan Fillion's bum), but just, no. I do think Gina Torres rocks, but that's probably because she's married to Laurence Fishburne.

3. And while we're on the topic of things that are boring me to tears – this season of Lost sucks "hairy dog bollocks" as I told [livejournal.com profile] estrella30. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and this one is mine. Last season was fast paced, every moment resulting in fifty different consequences. 44 days were covered in 22 episodes. This season we are four episodes in and still on the same fucking day. Nothing is fucking happening on this show, people; it's boring as hell. They have 44 potential people to use, why they hell aren't they addressing them? Stop spreading your legs for everyone, JJ, and focus on the people at home. Bringing in new characters is not the way to solve your issues. He pulled this same shit on Alias, and it's so not necessary.

Uh, yeah, that's pretty much it for me today. Thanks to everyone for answering my iPod questions. I'm off to search for something of interest to read that's not SGA.

ETA: I should point out that there are shows that I do love: Kichen Confidential, Grey's Anatomy, Nip/Tuck, Made and What Not to Wear. Also, obviously Entourage and Battlestar Galactica, but they're on hiatus right now.

Re: Reposted so it, you know, makes sense.

I wouldn't know which SGA episodes I watched, since it all seemed one big mesh for me. There was one with a female Wraith that was in disguise though, but I think in my heart, it's just not my type of thing. I want to laugh or scream and throw things. I want to feel compelled, or intrigued, or in love with the characters and SGA just couldn't hold my attention. I kept thinking, so, how long until BSG? As for Lost -- [insert eye rolling here] So very very boring right now. Where's Hurleyland? Where are the other survivors? Why aren't people challenging the status quo instead of being docile.... oh god, it's a commentary on the USA right now, isn't it?

I sound my barbaric yawp of rebellion! I shant turn to the Dark Side!

Dude, Nip/tuck is the bestest crack you can get right now. Persevere. It's so worth it.

Are you more of Suzannah and Trinny person or Stacy and Clinton? I love both pairs equally though the BBC pair tend to personalize more - saying "my arms are crap, yours are so much better!" and the like.

[insert much squeeing here] Another WNTW afficionado! As for preferences, you know I've been watching Trinny and Susannah from day one, I didn't even *know* there was an American version until this year, and then I had a surplus of fashion goodness. I do think that T&S can be much more brutal, but they do always do their best, sometimes I don't quite know why Clinton and Stacey let their subjects leave dressing the way they do. In their defense, I only really thought that once, but still. Once is enough! Watching too many episodes will may you throw out your entire wardrobe, much like Sex and the City.

Entourage, baby. It's the best show that no one is watching.

LOL. Yes, Lost definitely lost something between the seasons. Quite possibly it was the plot.

My satellite tv is ded until tomorrow. But after that, perseverence is soooo definite. It so owned my ass after the epi with the pissing angry transexuals. *nod*

I've just never seen a preview of the show that made me actually want to watch it. Still, curiosity strikes -- what's sci-fi about it? (the reason I went with 'possibly magical' is that apparently some dude who couldn't walk starts to be able to or something)

Joss definitely has moved in a very specific direction. One that speaks to some people that Buffy didn't appeal to and that turned off people who were drawn to his Buffy era stuff. I like the direction that he's gone, enjoyed it as it slowly happened over Buffy and then Angel. Honestly, I watched Serenity and it felt like it'd been written just for me, that's how close to the heart it struck.

Seriously, I wake up every morning and think, this outfit would look bad in the 360. Too boxy! What am I doing? But I lack $5k to spend on clothes in one fell swoop, so.

I have to say, I just saw an episode where T&S were lamenting that they'd let the changeover woman get away with so much and that they really hadn't gotten through to her ... Sometimes, on either show, the person is not ready for change and you do what you can.

I have a slight, very slight preference for the American version because it's longer and you get Nick and Carmindy. Carmindy's new whoring for Crest White Strips drives me batty, but she is so sweet and always sounds so sincere and I love her make-up 95% of the time that she does, so her plus Nick is really fun.

i know this is late but YES!!!!!! WTF!
I tried watching the show- it's not even glossy and pretty. no, and mckay- though i love him in fanfic (kinda)- no he is not the sexy beast they want to make him out as- he is not a sexy beast of any variety. Though he is one of the parts of the show that the fiction is truest to, and that i liked the most.
And the captain- she's so boring. wtf. no- i don't see it. And everyone- my entire small f-list has been saturated. and i like pru's fic, and seperis. but the show is doing it's bit to ruin the fic for me.

I like Grey's Anatomy. I can't watch Nip/Tuck anymore- it's just nasty. Pretty, glossy nastiness, but it leaves my mind feeling like Greek literature (oh the Iliad- mating with cows-really now?)- like it will never be clean again. If i could wash my mind after it...

but you know with prufrock- she'll make a fandom whore out of you- i don't even know what HnG is, really, but i'm so in love.

But thanks for being the last stand, because if you started writing SGA i'd just give myself over it, and wait for it to pass. damn my selfwill.
