First of all, it's Tuesday, which means Friday Night Lights! OMG, this show -- if you're not watching it, I just cannot begin to stress how badly you are missing out. I keep wanting to write more fiction for it, but it's been forever since I've been in a fandom where they have like regular episodes and everything*, I'm kind of caught with the innundation of fresh material. *rolls around* Ah, fresh material.

*At least it feels like it is -- BSG is too heavy to digest every week, it's like living on steak. You really do need a salad every now and then. And yet... how about that BSG on Friday, huh? Oh, Kara you are my favoritest fucked-up hetero-girlfriend EVER!

At the moment I don't love anybody more than Adrian Pasdar though, just saying.

I love NATHAN PETRELLI.

I just do. I know other people don't see it, because he's not all effusive and slobbering all over Peter and saying he's the bestest fucked-up baby brother ever, but what the fuck ever. I don't hold truck with that sort of stuff anyway.

Nathan left every thing to come get Peter's ass and that says plenty. He could've left it to the lackeys and the six lawyers, but no, he came himself* and then Peter collapsed outside the police station and the whole thing went crazy dirty!bad!wrong when Nathan was cradling him on his lap. Just saying. Oh, Nathan. I would so marry your little twisted black heart with your fucked up priorities.

*Nathan always seems to get flack for not emoting whenever his family gets themselves up shit's creek and yet he's is ALWAYS THERE to bail them out. If he truly didn't care, he wouldn't bother at all. He'd just leave them to it. How many people can say their family was always there when they fucked up, really? And yet, there Nathan is, so you know, CUT HIM GODDAMN BREAK!

I love Nathan too. Sometimes he has a warped way of showing his love for people (rather than saying to peter "i've got the painting, please don't go" - he just destroys it to protect him), but he is definitely the big brother, always looking out for him. I also think he has become more hardened since both the accident and his father's death - whereas Peter doesn't have that sort of pressure on him.

And I'm totally cool with you writing FNL fic. Oh yes, I am.

I think I still love Bad Glasses Man best, but Nathan Petrelli is right up there for close seconds. Because subtly manipulative right bastards with strong but veeeery situational moral codes and great but utterly silent love for their families seem to really, really do it for me.

Of course, it helps that he's always in suits. A good (or reasonable facsimile thereof) man in a fine suit is a surefire winner, says I.

Bzuh? People think Nathan doesn't love Peter? Have they lived their entire lives without being in the presence of two males related to each other by blood? I mean, even if the "always shows up when Peter's in trouble" part didn't tip you off, there's always the grabby-hands-plus-kiss-on-temple to really cement the deal.

I thought of you today when I saw an item in the paper that Max (George's potbelled pig) died over the weekend. My thoughts, in order:

1. Aw, George was out of town when it happened, so Max was alone.
2. How will Zahra use this in a fic?
3. My favorite George story ever: Mid-1990s!George is asleep in the middle of the night when there's an earthquake. He jumps out of bed, picks up Max, and runs into his front yard and stands there... naked, holding a pig, while the ground is shaking from the quake.

OH NOES! It's just a wrong impression that the opposition is trying to impress upon you. In reality EVERYONE loves Nathan. I'm not kidding. Unless by everyone I mean everyone I know, which I probably do BUT the point is that Nathan!love is all around. We're just secretly waiting to take over the world by storm with it. Or by bomb of the exploding man variety.


And Nathan-Peter sibling interaction is FTW! There is no evidence that actually says he does anything but love his brother. So he has a 'dysfunctional' way of showing it, he admitted as much in the last ep.

I think Nathan is the most interesting and complex character on the show!I can understand the Nathan hate, because it's just on the surface, but you can totally tell by his actions how much he cares. He's a very conflicted man.

Dropping in out of the blue to say that I, too, adore Nathan Petrelli, and Nathan's relationship with Peter. (Which should totally wind up with them in bed together, but that's beside the point.) Everyone commenting here has made excellent sense about Nathan always being there for his family, even if he doesn't always SAY everything they want to hear, and especially about Nathan being the only one approaching Peter in his apocolyptic vision when everyone else is standing back or fleeing the scene. I'm confidently waiting for Nathan to save Peter and save the world.
