Oh, well, if you're passing the crack pipe this way....

This morning I recieved an e-mail from [livejournal.com profile] heidi8 with a link from Greg Beeman's blog that contains the original Heroes pilot script. You know, the one where Nathan and Peter are twins.

I'll give you a moment.

Now, yes, I did write a little story about this idea, but my twins were identical (you can chose who you want them to look like) and they certainly weren't named Ethan and Harrison Campbell. I'll give you another moment to process this.

And. (Yes, there is an 'and' Virginia).

Truly, I didn't think the Petrellis/Campbells could be any gayer than what you have on TV, but reading the pilot and knowing now what I know and having written it already, I gotta say, "If they had made them twins, reality might have exploded." BroYay to the Twin-Factor would be a vortex of hotassery. I didn't think I would need to revisit the twin-verse. Now? I'm not so sure.

Petrellis for the win, y'all. Also, I hope everyone read Graphic Novel #28 from the NBC website too, because it has *looks around furtively* Baby!Nathan. Yeah. I know.

ETA: There are some really interesting changes from the pilot script to the pilot itself, FYI. For example: Zach used to be Zoe. *pauses* OMG! Harrison calls their mom a crack whore! And they had their own language! FTW!

Sorry, I had the wrong link up for the pilot, the right one is up now!

Damn, you make one mistake and you pay and you pay and you pay.

[identity profile] heidi8.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I was just trying to get the url to people, without cluttering up the page with comments of the same thing. YOU WERE OBVIOUSLY SO FLUSTERED BY THE LAST PAGE OF THE SCRIPT WHEN POSTING THE URL! And people understand that! :D

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
But if they'd been twins we wouldn't have had Pasdar or we wouldn't have had Ventimiglia. And that would've made the show less wonderful. So it's an okay trade, isn't it?

Yeah, we never could've had that. I wouldn't be watching the show if Nathan weren't Nathan. Also, can we all just refer to the last page of the script where what happens?

Ethan (Peter) tells Harrison (Nathan) that he loves him.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
You do something in a rush and look what happens. I have to say, looking at your icon all I can think is of Pyro and Iceman -- I blame the colors of their powers.

[identity profile] unperfectwolf.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
NO!? *is sad*

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. I thought you did it on purpose as a joke. I was just making fun of the brain-scarring content.

[identity profile] heidi8.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Well of course he does yes. He is his better half. Heh.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
When I read that Harrison called him his better half my jaw hit the floor. You can't be any more married than that. Also, randomly, can I just say that if they're 34 and there are no women in the picture? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Totally married. For the win.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Lyra. I can't. Harrison (Nathan) calls Ethan (Peter) his better half. The last page of the pilot they're flying in mid-air and Ethan (Peter) tells Harrison (Nathan) that he loves him.

[identity profile] sparky77.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be awesome! I am all excited to learn about the fucked up dynamics of the older Petrellis. And you know how I said before that I hated Mama Petrelli. Well, I take it back after that interview. The three of them were so cute together. I now fully support Lindermen + Mama Petrelli + Nathan + totally awesome evilness.

Also, you obviously put the wrong link in your post to make me laugh out loud at work and cheer up my day. There can be no bad in Kermit Adrian.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude. I knew when I wrote the story that the idea had existed, but they'd gone in another direction, but not in a million years did I think it was like this. That. In the last page of the pilot they're flying in mid-air and Ethan (Peter) tells Harrison (Nathan) that he loves him. (http://www.dailyscript.com/scripts/Heroes.pdf)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Love Mama Petrelli! Long live Mama Petrelli! I need a Bad Mama Jama icon featuring Mama Petrelli. Also, as awesome as Kermit!Adrian is, I bet you'd like to see the last page of the pilot script where Ethan (Peter) tells Harrison (Nathan) that he loves him. (http://www.dailyscript.com/scripts/Heroes.pdf)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Hush you.

[identity profile] heidi8.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
You mean, in this page of the pilot?

You're flailing, aren't you?

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry, baby, they just aren't my cup of tea. *points at icon* That is my cup of tea.

[identity profile] heidi8.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I made an icon.

I made an icon.

*CHOKES*

Wow. That's just, wow.

(I'm still resisting the Petrellicest, btw. Really. Well, I'm trying. That's gotta count for something. :D)

[identity profile] unperfectwolf.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe we could talk the boys into suits and politics for you. I mean, SPF did the politics guy in The Dead Zone, right? *grin*

[identity profile] sparky77.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh good god! That just wins.

And um... reading that after looking at Kermit Nathan made me sort of imagine that scene with muppet Nathan and Peter and it was the most adorable and wrong thing ever. And I need help. And to never think of the words Kermit and Nathan together ever again.

I just can't get the image of Muppet Peter with Muppet Emo bangs flailing about with his little muppet hands and little muppet feet as he plummets to the ground.

[identity profile] 12-12-12.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I can understand Fallout, 'cause I think he rocked the scenes with Fake!Vision!Nathan/Sylar, and Claire, and Matt. But for Milo, I would say the standout episodes are:

Homecoming - when I first fell in love with Peter.
Unexpected - Flying! Woo hoo!
Five Years Gone - *points to icon*

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Can I just say your icon really does sum up all of Five Years Gone nicely, except for the bit where I blew up a small country when they said Nathan was dead.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
You are disturbed.

[identity profile] superslayer18.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
BroYay to the Twin-Factor would be a vortex of hotassery.

Quite possibly the greatest line ever written.

[identity profile] 12-12-12.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee hee. I love that icon. I also love this one. *points* I've been a Peter fangirl ever since Homecoming, and that episode was like my own special crack.

(I'm a huge fan of your fic, BTW. *g*)

[identity profile] 12-12-12.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm actually glad they're not twins, because I'm fascinated by the older/younger sibling dynamic. I like the power differential between them, and the natural way that more pressure has been placed on Nathan's shoulders, with Peter growing up in his shadow.

In other news: I'm sad that there's been more distance between them since Peter's "death." It's realistic character progression, but it's still sad.
