LURKER AMNESTY DAY!

I'm copying this word-for-word from the most awesome [livejournal.com profile] scribblinlenore and declaring today Lurker Amnesty Day! Read but never comment? Surf by occasionally? Here for the fic? Say hello! You are under no obligation to ever comment or delurk again, but here's a chance to do so in a post just for that.

And, you know, if you aren't a lurker but want to say hello and amuse me, that would also make me happy! Amusement is always welcome.

ETA: If you are looking for something awesome in your life, why not try watching The Unusuals. ABC, 10pm, tonight (Wednesday). I offer Exhibits #1 and #2 for your consideration.

ETA#2: As I told [livejournal.com profile] sockich: I am so impressed by how many of you guys are all GENERATION KILL, YEAH! and SOUTHLAND, HOORAY! Seriously it's totally making my day.

Repeat after me:

BEN LIKES IT ROUGH...
BEN LIKES IT ROUGH...
BEN LIKES IT ROUGH...

*whizz*
*bang*
*crackle*
*fizz*
*dribble*

*looks at brain on floor*

Uh, you'll need to clean that up.

So I came here for the fic but stayed for the awesome and the fact that there are about three other fans of The Wire on all of lj. Also, you wrote Peter Petrelli and made me like him back in the day. Although I don't think that's actually humanly possible anymore.

I would like to hear more about Cooper and Walsh and all the sex they have had.

Hi, I've stalked your journal for awhile now, pretty much because I liked Kitchen Confidential and Entourage, and I found out you wrote for that. Then I started watching Generation Kill, and found out you wrote for that.

Now, I'm into Southland, and you've written 2 out of the four fics that exist so...

STOP THAT. YOU ARE NOT TO ENCOURAGE HER UNTIL SHE HAS BROUGHT THE COOPER/BEN GOODS.

I am indeed a lurker, but LOVELOVELOVE reading your fannish squee, so, yeah, <3.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, if this was another time line I'd be thinking that Ben was Walsh's little brother and he'd harbored a mad crush on John all these years and then Walsh (whose first name totally escapes me right now), went off to NYC and Ben joined the LAPD and Cooper picked him up as a favor not knowing about the crush and now Ben is like I AM GROWN NOW.

Oh, sweet Jesus.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Cold lunch, too busy fucking around and not doing anything that needs to be done. You know how it is.

[identity profile] sparky77.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I support this! With a side of total deviant kinkiness. Like at some point Ben meets Walsh and Walsh is all, "Hi, nice to meet you. I fucked your boyfriend." And at first Ben is kind of jealous, but then Ben wants to hear all about it and Cooper is all, "Hell, no! I am not telling you about the fantastic sex we used to have or that bar we are never allowed to go back to because of that thing that happened in the the bathroom, or how we never actually managed to make it to a bed to have sex, but how the cushions did not survive the time we actually made it to a couch." And Ben's all, "Fine, I bet Walsh will tell me about it. Hell, I bet he'll demonstrate."

GK! Southland! High five!

[identity profile] saturnalia.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Hello! I... think I friended you back in the days of HP? Unless it was Smallville. Man, I can't even remember anymore. /o\ But in any case, I tend to default to lurkerdom as I'm too lazy to ever comment on anyone's posts.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
No worries! I'm glad you said 'hi!'

[identity profile] sparky77.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh wow. YOU ARE BRILLIANT!

[identity profile] kismeteve.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I have to admit I was very glad when I found out Babywipes Howard was not going to be in IM2. Sigh of relief.

I fear your fic has taken up residence in my brain to the extent that I wonder why on earth people don't understand that Anderson Cooper and George Clooney are a match made in heaven (I may have accidentally once said this to an offline friend *coughs*)

I honestly do not know why they hide their love this way. The world would be much better if they just got their shit together, you know? Also, I bet that was a very interesting office convo ;)

Also, that link is awesome. So awesome I shall not read as you said.

BABYWIPES HOWARD!

*High five*

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That literally just sprung into my head fully formed. I am like Zeus with Athena that way, thankfully nobody had to hammer into my head to get it out.

I can't remember when I first stumbled on your journal - um, a while and several fandoms ago. I've lost track of the fandoms/cool things that you've introduced me to, to the point where I'm not sure whether I was fannish about something before you mentioned it or not. But I do know that I never comment on most of the awesome stuff that keeps me hanging around.

I have to thank you for introducing me to Generation Kill, and I love that you are loving Southland, because I didn't think anyone on my flist was, and then lo, there you were, again!

Right, scuttling back into lurkerdom now.

To be honest it got completely sidetracked into a discussion about whether Anderson was gay or not... and I was just eternally grateful I'd said Anderson and not Ari :P

RPS makes the world a better place. Even Jon Stewart writes it.

*waves back* HI!

[identity profile] sockich.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi!

I wasn't gonna say anything but the it occurred to me that I've had you friended for years, I always smile when I see your name of my flist page, I love your fics and most importantly, if it wasn't for you I never would have watched Generation Kill. Or Southland. Probably a lot of other stuff, too, but these two are the most important right now.

So yeah, I figured the least could do was thank you for constantly bringing the awesome into my life and also, maybe if I delurk now, I'll actually stop sucking and start leaving feedback on your fic. :D

Also, ♥♥The Unusuals♥♥ Here's to hoping it doesn't get canceled too soon.

[identity profile] kismeteve.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I will forever be grateful to you because you introduced me to Gomez and were one of the people that turned me on to Elbow (GUY!). There was also Neville, Ari, George (and Ari), Ryan Gosling love and now Southland squee.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, no, Anderson is gay. Not like I made that up gay, he is. Apparently he likes them darker skinned and somewhat rough. You never heard about the guy he tried to pick up at an airport in Brazil? Hell, I think even the Post mentioned that one.
