LURKER AMNESTY DAY!

I'm copying this word-for-word from the most awesome [livejournal.com profile] scribblinlenore and declaring today Lurker Amnesty Day! Read but never comment? Surf by occasionally? Here for the fic? Say hello! You are under no obligation to ever comment or delurk again, but here's a chance to do so in a post just for that.

And, you know, if you aren't a lurker but want to say hello and amuse me, that would also make me happy! Amusement is always welcome.

ETA: If you are looking for something awesome in your life, why not try watching The Unusuals. ABC, 10pm, tonight (Wednesday). I offer Exhibits #1 and #2 for your consideration.

ETA#2: As I told [livejournal.com profile] sockich: I am so impressed by how many of you guys are all GENERATION KILL, YEAH! and SOUTHLAND, HOORAY! Seriously it's totally making my day.

I'm totally obsessed with that show. At first, I was like another cop show?? but it's amazingggggggggg!!!

INORITE!!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
We tried that. Dude, you wouldn't believe the lengths we're going to here. There's so block somewhere, but Ben and I are going to persevere dammit!

Re: Hi

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, you are very kind. Thank you!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Congratulations! I hope you are enjoying college :)

Also, this is the fucking hysterical.

the Brain Trusts that live in the apartment below me are entertaining themselves by filling plastic pop bottles with cleaning solution and throwing them into a trash fire. Idaho Rednecks at their finest.

HI!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Ari does that to people, I totally understand. Boy do I understand. And I'm so glad that you got a chance to watch GK, it is my goal to infect the world with awesome TV habits and weed out the crap. Then again, I only watch three hours of TV a week at this point, so clearly I am losing this battle. Still, GK was the best TV of last year and Southland might be the best for this year (even though the Unusuals might be the most entertaining -- ask me after summer telly).

Anyway, don't be a stranger! You are totally welcome around here :)

[identity profile] mardia.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, I think I found your journal back in the O.C days, and I stuck around because your posts are hilarious and the fic is awesome--especially the Chuck and Southland fics. Ben and Cooper FTW! And I seriously need a Southland icon, yo.

[identity profile] lula-q.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
You must persevere! If Cooper keeps his pants, that means the terrorists win!

Maybe, Cooper's pants are already off. He's hungover, in some stranger's bed and wakes up to Ben's fingers just sroking up and down his scar. And Ben's not saying anything, just giving one of his looks and then there's drowsy morning sex. And maybe Ben nips at the scar, because that could be hot.

*waves* I mostly lurk, popping up to comment of fic, but I really enjoy your LJ. I definitely wouldn't be into Generation Kill (I rereading again instead of working on finals stuff) without you, which would have been a big loss.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, there is a scar in one of these stories, but it is not Cooper's and that's all I will tell you or it'll spoil the surprise.

[identity profile] lula-q.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Will there be anything to spoil if you can't get Cooper's pants off, though?

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes. Very much yes.

[identity profile] bijoux.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
I figured I better drop by and say hi! before the day is over, so HI! I mostly lurk here, though I do pop up occasionally to leave comments on your GK and Southland fics (but not on all of them, because I'm bad like that, but I really should leave comments on all of your fics I read, though I figure you can only hear "omg so great" so many times before you get sick of it :P)

Okay, the end. Back to lurking. Yay.

[identity profile] honeybones.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
I am also a huge fan of the original Life on Mars. I didnt expect the U.S. version to be the same show and it wasnt. I felt it stood nicely on its own merits.

[identity profile] sleeper-frost.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Came in via GK, loved the Phelps/Lochte, noticed we share a brain cell over much media (Kitchen Confidential? YUSS!), have been an inappropriate creeper ever since. Somehow knew you'd bring the Southland, have not been disappointed. Bonus: Unusuals!

[identity profile] acroamatica.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Does it still count as lurking if you totally know I'm there because every time you mention Ari you can practically feel the sound waves from my squee?

Well, hi, anyway. :D

Hello

[identity profile] ardles1.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
I originally started lurking for your GK writing! - love your stuff.

[identity profile] superslayer18.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
:delurks: You seem to already have almost 200 comments though... looks like people just love to stalk you :)

HI *waves *

Started here for our dearest pal Ray Ray, got drawn in by your love of Lochte and Rahm Emannuel, and then got sucked in to Merlin, all thanks to you. Though I'm not really a full time lurker, cos I always try to comment on fics, but still, I don't comment enough really, so HI!

[identity profile] derselbe.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Hello! I came for the fic, stayed for the awesome/hilarious entries. Also, you are totally the reason that I dl'd Generation Kill, so thank you!

::waves::

I can't remember why I originally started reading you (which is pretty typical, though not common, for me--something just strikes an extra chord with me and I open up Google Reader. So at some point you wrote something extra awesome), but I've really been enjoying your Southland stuff. I'm trying to stick with it despite some issues (like it's so dark I can't tell the 12 billion medium build brunet white guys apart), and you're helping!

[identity profile] staraflur.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
I am going to do this too even though my day of amnesty is over. I honestly cannot say why we are friends, I dropped off lj for literally years, and when I came back you were on my f-list.... :\, I know. If I had to guess, I'd say it was probably harry potter related? Either way, I came back right around Merlin-time, and I loved your Merlin fic, then your other fic and sometimes your general rants! So yeah, that's the tale.

[identity profile] vossnor.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
I think the first post of yours I ever read was your Generation Kill pimp back in August. Though I was already watching (and obsessed with) the show, I was relieved and heartened to know I wasn't the only one. I return to the well religously for your GK fic (which could inspire a church of its own, I think...I'd worship there) and I appreciate someone who enjoys a good rant every now and then.

Though I don't watch either Merlin or Southland, I feel like I should, just because you're writing on them. I mean, I must be missing something good, right?

Thanks for the amnesty to de-lurk. It is liberating...in a rolling into Baghdad with Brad and Ray kind of way.
