One of Layla's greatest learning experiences is Poke and Ray reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X for her birthday in sixth grade. They put it on DVD. It took them two weeks to do the whole thing, complete with reinactments of the ways the white man has oppressed her people. These things are important in her cultural education.
