a) Southland S2 premiering on March 2, 2010. Watch it.

b) The Pacific premiering Sunday, March 14th on HBO. From the people who brought you Band of Brothers and the network that brought you Generation Kill. You like those, you are going to LOVE this.

c) If you want to know what my next two shiny toys are going to be, please to see a & b

d) Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] xnitelite for my awesome virtual candy and to [livejournal.com profile] alethialia, [livejournal.com profile] romanticalgirl and [livejournal.com profile] spookshowbaby for my hugs. Because I need hugs. Y'all have no idea.

e) People what are super duper helpful and patient when I am being challenged about my computer. I'm looking at you [livejournal.com profile] sparky77

f) Christina Hendricks is the hottest woman on the planet. She's stacked like a Lego Tower. So gorgeous Michelangelo would reconsider his sexuality. Has more curves than a snowboarding cross track AND she's a redhead. Yeah, I would go there.

And last, but never ever least: To My Awesome Flist

You, much like Christina Hendricks, are stacked like Lego towers, so stop trying to achieve some crazy standard of beauty that only happens with Photoshop and this insanely awesome photo editor I know who works Fashion Week.

You're all brilliant like Einstein, so stop studying until you see double and can't write your own name.

You need to be kinder to yourself and stop beating yourself up for somebody else's stupidity/meanness/negativity/desire to piss all over anything good.

You have enough balls to give Freud a complex, but enough tact not to take out somebody's eye when you're swinging your dicks around.

You know that walking away works better than throwing a tantrum, so stop getting worked up.

You're all incredibly kind/thoughtful/giving (especially with your time and intelligence and wisdom. And money. Even when you guys don't have money, you still give it up for a good cause).

You remind me that if you don't have the courage of your convictions, you need to reconsider your convictions or STFU.

And lastly, even when life is trench warfare, you offer a respite from what ails me and for that I am truly grateful.

You are all awesome, so don't lose sight of that.

She actually did Life during the first season of MM. I watched a few episodes of Life b/c she was in them and she's just hot all the time. Hell, she's hot just crossing the road (http://fuckyeahchristinahendricks.tumblr.com/post/369942450/via-nightinnantes). (TBH, I find the outfit kind of horrible, but she's hot and she's wearing glasses so I don't care).

I didn't watch MM until later (and was always sad her character didn't come back on Life, though now I get why). And dude, glasses are so your bulletproof kink! Hee!

Also, those pics just emphasize how very normal she looks. To have Hollywood folks calling her "big" or whatever is just...stfu.

Of course Hollywood thinks she's "big" remember Hollywood is home of the size 00. The other day I stumbled across Anne Hathaway talking about how she's at the large end of the spectrum at size 4, which, really now? She can STFU. I understand that b/c most actors are under 5'9 that ultimately they want the women not to tower over them, but c'mon, now. The whole 13 year old boy look is not attractive on a woman, never has been, never will be Kate Moss.

Oh, well do I know. But was Anne Hathaway being accepting of it? Because she's always seemed rather more levelheaded than that. I remember during The Devil Wears Prada they had to 'have a discussion' with her about her size and she seemed realistic about it, but hardly a cheerleader for the emaciated look.

A lot of actresses are also quite slight - not just skinny, but small-framed. Which is why I appreciate Hendricks and Noa Tishby, among others.

She didn't seem particularly accepting of it, but I also remember her remarking that during the filming of Devil Wears Prada she went from a 6 to a 4 and seemed rather proud of that fact. But that's what happens when people are constantly remarking on how you look, taking your measurements and critiquing what you wear, if you're retaining water you must be pregnant. It could wear anybody down. The fact of the matter is that if you have to have a discussion about being that small, there's something wrong with the standards being set. But yes, I do know that a lot of actresses are small-framed, again to make the men not look quite as minute as they are. I like women who are vaunted for being tall or athletic or like Christina; it's just a shame there aren't more of them.
