.... ??? !!!!

So. Inception.

Joseph Gordon Levitt. Oh, how I have loved your, talented, skinny, stoner vest-wearing ass since 10 Things I Hate About You. You in suits is porn for my eyes. You are the only quasi-hipster on this earth that makes me think, "I would so tap that ass." YOU WERE FUCKING AWESOME.

Cillian Murphy. You are my Theodore Nott. I have loved you long time. You have been off doing arty business and then you show up. With a spray on-tan and I still love you. And that mouth. And those eyes. WEARING SUSPENDERS. There aren't even words for what happened in my pants.

The same goes for you Tom Hardy, most fabulous one from Layer Cake. Side note: If you have never seen Layer Cake do not pass go, go directly to Netflix.

Ken Watanabe. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW YOUR FINE ASS WAS IN THIS MOVIE. HOW SO AWESOME AND KICKASS?

AND THE SUITS.

OH MY GOD, THE SUITS.

Do you all know how I feel about menswear? I feel like you do not know. Do you really know? Have you read my 125 page odes to men's clothes? Fine menswear is pornography to me. All eleven letters of that word. It is kink. Fetish. Catnip. Kryptonite.

Ovary-quivering, palpitation-inducing, excuse me if I pet you in the elevator beauty at its best.

You wonder what turns [livejournal.com profile] hackthis' crank? Nice suits. Pristine silk ties. A crisp oxford shirt. A gorgeous wool blend fabric. Platinum cufflinks. The perfect line at the waist. At the shoulder. The way the hem breaks across a nice Italian loafer.

And this movie.

With it's clothes and it's mind-fucking, now you see it now you don't, now you get it, now you're like, WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK?

This movie was the goddamn business.

Finally a movie that lives up to its promise. It's the first movie I've seen all year that made me go, "I AM GLAD SOMEBODY MADE THIS MOVIE. EVERYBODY SHOULD SEE THIS MOVIE." Apparently I'm at the point where I only recommend one (1) movie a year (last year it was The Hurt Locker*). I believe that this year, this is that movie.

*Speaking of Jeremy Renner, how the hell is he trying to get me to watch a Ben Affleck movie and succeeding? That is power.

I didn't even mind Leonardo DiCaprio's greasy ass. That's how good this movie was.

And Lukas Haas. I heard you'd been rehabbed, but you're still as greasy and strung-out looking as ever.

The minute Inception was over I was planning my next viewing. That's how good this movie was.

I want some Arthur/Eames fic. I want Saito fic. Tell me about Yusef and all his chemistry. I needs the precious. I need Inception fic, bitches.

[livejournal.com profile] moneyfolder said that people on the interwebs have theories about this movie. About when the dreams started and what actually happened. Was Cobb dreaming from the first sedation or was the whole movie an inception. Did the top ever stop spinning after the fade to black (did anybody else's theatre lose a collective AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!) To be honest though? I don't care. I just want some goddamn fic for this shit.

Dear Christopher Nolan,

From my first viewing of Memento (Guy Pearce, where are you?) I knew yours was a mind to be appreciated. Adored. Cossetted. The Batman reboot. The Prestige. Where you lead I will follow. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU LEAD ME TO MIND FUCKING BRILLIANCE. I cover you in sparkles and unicorns and shit.

Love,

X

p.s. I am gonna say though, the van going off the bridge and the resulting editing, of that slow mo fall over and over again kind of grated. And Ellen Page, sadly, your character got on my NERVES, but I really appreciated the Greek mythology angle shout out by naming you Ariadne. And the rest was spec-fucking-tacular.

For reals. ♥

So what your saying is... I should go watch this movie, right? :)

Howdy from the past...just a goofy note to say I had a wacky dream where we were meeting up for dinner but ended up walking around LA. Okay, maybe not wacky...but it totally came out of the blue.

Regarding men in suits...GUH! Makes my brain melt. Cannot wait to see the men in suits in this movie. Hopefully this week...

[identity profile] redheadaholic.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
But did you like it?

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean I suppose. If you like smart, well-thought out, visually stunning and beautifully acted movies. But you know, those aren't for everyone :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
You should do something to show your gratitude. What? I'm just saying. She could've taken you to see something really bad!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
HI! *waves* And definitely see the movie this week if you can, it's awesome.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
It was okay I suppose. ;)

[identity profile] thetinydemon.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Someone needs to write Arthur/Eamus now. For the good of humanity.

[identity profile] dimwit90.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I supposed since there is no ridiculously action packed misogynistic movie out right I'll give it a shot

[identity profile] snowybaby.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
a) I wanted to go see this movie. after reading you're review, i'm going to see it tonight! b) as a reward for informing your lj buddies of the awesomeness that is inception, i was going to create a picspam just for you: (gorgeous) men in (gorgeous) suits. i will do this eventually, but i got distracted by the images that popped up as i was doing a search for joseph gordon-levitt. jeez louise. check these out...

[identity profile] thebunnyknows.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I shall! I don't think she's seen Layer Cake. I'll see to it she does, is that a good reward for awesome movie viewing?

[identity profile] aubade-saudade.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, i'm the same way. it's like suits are men's version of lingerie for me. idk. my version of strip tease would go in reverse. i'd have a suit all laid out and a naked man, and when he got to the bit where he puts on the cuff links ... hawt.

i loved JGL in 10 things and then when i saw Mysterious Skin? (have you seen that? if you haven't you should see it, you should see it hard) i'm like Bella for this dude, ngl. he's perfect and beautiful to me, though i have no explanation for the fact that he's Jewish and yet looks like he's Keanu's little cousin or something.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, life is hard like that.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That is the best reward you could possibly provide. Trufax. *is proud*

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
WORD. I have to see it again, so I can formulate real thoughts on this besides. Hot. Pretty. Clothes. Sex now?

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
YES. THIS. THIS IS... THIS. This is what I have always appreciated about him. Talent. And Hotness. And I remember seeing the Claudia Schiffer photo shoot and just wanting to choke her out so I could replace her.

Too dramatic?

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I have seen Mysterious Skin. I saw it four/five years ago and I am still traumatized. I would never watch that again. I found it horrifying and just thinking about it makes me want to hide behind the sofa.

Having said all of that though, I am a big fan of the reverse strip tease, yes.

OMG SO GOOD.

Also, I want Arthur/Anybody like, yesterday.

[identity profile] aubade-saudade.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
sofa hiding is serious trauma, no doubt.

yeah, it's pretty horrifying, but i'd just read the book (i was in a Dennis Cooper/Bret Easton Ellis kick a while ago and i think Cooper reviewed MS and said really good things so i tried it out and i was like woah, this is AMAZING. asexual character that thought he'd been kidnapped by an alien was actually a little less fucked up than the "sexually liberated" character who supposedly wasn't in denial / cool story bro.

anyway. i like to read stories/watch movies like that every once in a while. i have no clue why, because they devastate me and drain me, but...

i also saw Irreversible once. (don't do it. seriously.) never again, dude. those movies should come with Surgeon General warnings: Watching this Film May FUBAR You.

[identity profile] snowybaby.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
nope. not too dramatic. spot-on accuracy. :) JGL isn't usually my type, but man can he wear a suit well. plus, in typical fashion, i fell a bit in love with him during the musical-morning-after in (500) Days of Summer. i also wanted to abduct the cinematographer/lighting crew and make them follow me around, constantly creating a color palette and environment that emphasizes my blue eyes a la Zooey Deschanel. now that's over-dramatic! but true.

btw, my "type" is... very strange. stark sands + alexander skarsgard? goes without saying. yet, sometimes i think jesse eisenberg (http://images.broadwayworld.com/columnpic/jesseeisenberg.jpg) is the bees knees, other times i sincerely want to jump christian kane (http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/252/5454562.jpg). as far as i can tell, the latter two guys have absolutely nothing in common. ::shrug:: maybe i can chalk it up to drastically different versions of aw shucks charm, but who knows? do you have a crush that just don't make sense? if so, who?

inception

[identity profile] ewanmax.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
been waiting for probably 6 months to just be there. saw it last night at a bistro where you drink great wine, eat salmon and hummusall before a peanut butter pie and then just fall into the movie slightly buzzed and feeling oh so amazing.
Love Joseph Gordon Levitt and just wowwwwww
and although you may not like leo I do and he did good
seeing it again tomorrow just to get another opportunity to stare and sit in awe, without the bistro

[identity profile] plumtastic.livejournal.com 2010-07-17 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm so glad to hear this! (I'm also waving a wild hand in support of fine suits!)

They've been showing that one promo so hard, and all I could really focus on was the really awesome score and the giant train. And then I saw an alterna-promo that actually included Cillian and Joseph Gordon Levitt and omg, hinted at a PLOT and why did TPTB wait so long to show that one?

Anyway, thanks, and really, the powers should just take the above happy flail and make *it* into a promo.

Making my appointment to go see it this week. :)

Arthur was just fabulous, wasn't he? Your icon says it all.
