You can hate me now.

Bad news: I knew it was going to happen, I could feel it, but I prayed otherwise. Unfortunately, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay *is* indeed being made into a movie. Production starts in March 2004, and I will have more details as I collect them. I must go sharpen my knives now.

Good news: I saw Return of the King today thanks to the always up-for-it [livejournal.com profile] kattiya. And dude it was so good words cannot begin to describe my love for Peter Jackson. I want to throw myself at his feet and attach myself to his ankles to be close to his greatness. He could now make a movie about peeling potatoes and I'd still be all over it.

More good news: We had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] happyminion and [livejournal.com profile] nebt_het and got everyone’s favorite Southern belle to try raw oysters and sushi. We’re all very proud.

You saw it?!?!?

*jealous*

Soo very jealous.

Ok and I apologize for being ignorant but is it a bad thing that they are making that book into a movie? (I am unfamiliar with it)

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0312282990/qid=1070828973//ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i0_xgl14/002-4717379-9504808?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) is not just a book; it's a life altering experience, and as somebody who's read a whole a lot of books I don't say that lightly. It might be the only book I've ever read that I've loved so deeply the first time I read it. Quite simply it lives up to the title; it really is amazing.

Read it; it'll improve your way of life.
