Less of a meme and more of a youyou

(gacked from [livejournal.com profile] obsessedmuch)

I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

My personal goal is: to get over my writer's block, write my Obscure Santa thingy, and perhaps do something illegal this weekend.

I aim high.

Spinach, sauteed in olive oil with some garlic. Mighty fine.

I own too many books. I am in an intense love-hate relationship with technology. I listen to a lot of alt-country music, particularly the stuff recorded by former punk rockers. My friends want me to rewrite "The Thin Man."

Oh yes. Yes, definitely.

I am totally with you...except for the Thin Man thing since I don't actually know what that is. Do tell.

Dude.

DUDE.

I have to go take a walk and make spastic Seth Cohen hand movements for a while now.

OK, I'm back.

THE THIN MAN! Based on a novel by Dashiell Hammett, itself based in part on his homelife with Lillian Hellman. THE THIN MAN! A movie starring William Powell and Myrna Loy as the wise-crackingest, drinkingest private eye couple in black and white cinema history. Watch the movie, which is on TCM all the damn time. Or go rent it right now! Avoid starting with the sequels, which are a decidedly mixed bag.

Do you not know the old movies? Because there are so so many good comedies.
