Less of a meme and more of a youyou

(gacked from [livejournal.com profile] obsessedmuch)

I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

My personal goal is: to get over my writer's block, write my Obscure Santa thingy, and perhaps do something illegal this weekend.

I aim high.

I work as a researcher/administrator, developing computer algorithms. Mostly in the areas networking and computer vision.

I've published research papers, but I've never really written fiction, at all. I'm now trying. OC Slash. Someday I may post some stuff.

I used the first web browser (Mosaic) back when standards for www were still being developed and there was virtually nothing available on the Internet; perhaps this was before Al Gore officially invented it. So, I've been here for a while.

I found you while searching for Smallville slash. I then found your O.C. slash, started downloading eps, and now I'm hooked on "The O.C." (but I've lost interest in Smallville for now).

I'm on lj because you offered me a code after posting anonymously about TA. I decided I liked the community, and it has inspired me to attempt writing. Now lj sucks too much of my time.

I post comments in other peoples journals much more than I write in my own.

I like spinach. I will eat it raw in a salad, but generally prefer when it is cooked into some dish.

Yes! Yes! I remember when it was all unix and gopher and there was none of this pretty www stuff. Clearly I'm showing my age. I too have the waning SV interest, but I'm going strong with The O.C.
