Less of a meme and more of a youyou

(gacked from [livejournal.com profile] obsessedmuch)

I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

My personal goal is: to get over my writer's block, write my Obscure Santa thingy, and perhaps do something illegal this weekend.

I aim high.

umm..okay, lesse, sumpin' 'bout me....uh...I like old movies? Like classic Alfred Hitchcock and Buster Keaton and German movies from the 20's and 30's and just about anythin' else.

Do you know I don't think I've ever seen a 20s flick. Really. Don't smite me, just saying. I'd like to try though, what do you recommend?

*claps delightedly* Okay, most movies from the 20's are silent as sound didn't come in until 1927. I would recommend Buster Keaton's The General (I think he's much funnier than Chaplin) and Fritz Lang's Metropolis and M (M actually has sound! but it's German!). Ohoh and for German Expressionism, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (German again. and silent).

Most of those are even available on DVD. try the smaller, independent video stores (Blockbuster won't have these) or even your public library if they have a good video section. :)
