Less of a meme and more of a youyou

(gacked from [livejournal.com profile] obsessedmuch)

I know very little about some of the people on my friends' list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your fic, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me and I thank you.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes spinach."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal.

My personal goal is: to get over my writer's block, write my Obscure Santa thingy, and perhaps do something illegal this weekend.

I aim high.

Did you grow up in Tijuana, what was that like? I've never been; I am very curious. I've never actually seen Children of the Dune, but I totally want to.

Born and raised. It was interesting, because Tijuana is as far away from the rest of Mexico as you can get, lots of desert between it and everywhere else. When I wa growing up in the 70s there was only one Spanish TV station in the area and it only showed half an hour of cartoons, so I ended watching a *lot* of English programing. That's why I'm into fandom stuff and understand English :)

TJ itself has a well earned rep as a dangerous place, but I knew my way around and never had any problems of any kind. I just got married and moved to San Diego CA, but my family and friends are still in TJ so I visit often.

CoD: I think it's worth your time, even if you never read the books or saw DUNE.

Ta!
