All my opinions are unpopular.

Sugar-free Jell-o is a vicious, filthy lie, because I had some for breakfast, and lemme tell you, there was sugar in there! Anyhoo, I was chatting with [livejournal.com profile] serialkarma this morning and telling her how every time I slag off Harry or Clark I get de-friended by at least three people, which I thought was kind of funny, because you know what? I do think Clark's overrated and I do think that Harry's a snot-nosed annoyance. (That could just be my inner Slytherin talking, but I don't think so). But you know what? Just cos I slag them off doesn't mean I don't think they have their good points, I mean have you, like, looked at SV's Clark? You could put up with a lot of toss to get a semi-regular shag from him. And Harry, well, if somebody's got to die for the cause? Better him than Neville in my book. In other unpopular opinions I'd also like to say that:

- Draco? He doesn't want to be redeemed. People? He's EVOL. He's a Slytherin. He's his father's son. He likes it that way. That's what makes him so great. He can bitch and moan and snark with the best of them. He can still shag Harry Potter and call him a prat. He's a hypocrite. He's going to fight for The Dark Lord and probably lose. Or he just might run away. He's not going to wake up one morning and say 'Oh, I've seen the light. The love of Harry effing Potter has made me a good man.' Really. It's not going to happen. It's why I like him. Draco/Neville is another matter altogether.

- Sark? Not going to have an epiphany either. The Twu Wuv of Sydney is not going change him. Not because he can't change either, but because she hates his guts!

- Writers are not fucking robots. Insisting that we want to write the story *you* want us to write? Not gonna happen unless we've wanted to write it anyway. Thinking that harassing us will help? Wrong. Have you ever seen anybody catch flies with vinegar? Exactly.

- Longer is not always better.

- There are all kinds of role models and heroes. Just because someone's not ordained by a scar or from the wrong side of tracks or sent from another frigging planet doesn't meant that they can't be special too. It doesn't make them unworthy or horrible or a lesser match.

- Kicking other characters to make your character look better? Not really a good thing. I adore Lex; I think Clark's a tosser, but that doesn't mean Lex hasn't done some scandelously wrong things.

- Castrating your character is not going to make him do what you want. Most people don't like being castrated. It fucking hurts!

- ETN: Hermione? Cannot fucking STAND her. She makes me want to pull my eyes out with dull Tweezerman tweezers.

and last, but never ever least:

- Fandom gives you what you put into it. Really. Give it more and it'll give you more, give it less and you'll get less. Nothing is going to fall into your lap.

In other news, when are Christian & Sean going to have sex on Nip/Tuck?

I have seven gmail invites. If you want one, lemme know.

Oh, no, I agree he's not inherently evil, not like say, his dad. Yes, I think self-serving is perhaps the best definition for him. *nods* He's got that teenage self-interest compounded by that Malfoy/Slytherin holier-than-thou complex. Yeah, insufferable. Definitely. But in an endearing way.

Very endearing! I love to write him.
