The countdown has begun.

1. There have been a lot of new friendings happening recently, so you know, introduce yourselves! Why are you acting like you have no home training? Your mums would be appalled.

2. I got an OC calendar in a gift exchange and I bought the S1 DVDs yesterday. I believe this is now the time for me to ask for a divorce? Is this how I works again? I did see last night's episode though, and very much adore Sandy and Ryan. [livejournal.com profile] serialkarma and I were discussing the non-hotness of Lindsey's mom and we've chalked it up to her not being a Newport resident. Hot people only in city limits. Also, my Ryan-adoration really knows no bounds at this point.

3. It seems that everybody and their grandparents is in the [livejournal.com profile] yuletide/sekritholidayperson crunch, so I thought I'd throw up some inspirational (well, for me) music. At least the stuff is fast-paced.

a. Turin Brakes - Pain Killer -- I heart Olly and Gale, not because they're friends of friends, but because they write wicked songs with lyrics like 'You need something better than the bacon and eggs/ The creaking in the walls and the banging in the bed'

b. Elbow - Buttons and Zips and Elbow - Snooks (Progress Report) -- I couldn't decide between the two, and since I'm trying to coax [livejournal.com profile] circe_tigana into the Elbow fold I thought I should put up both.

c. Gomez - Here Comes the Breeze -- Okay, this isn't really fast-paced, but to know The 'Mez is to love them, and I love this song, so just download it!

d. Jay Z - 99 Problems -- Because, yes, I know, not getting these stories done on time does feel like 99 Problems.

e. And because nothing I do is compelete without them: I present Ryan Adams singing about hookers (Tina Toledo's Street Walking Blues) and Jeff Buckley singing in French (Je n'en Connais Pas la Fin)*

Go forth and Merlin speed!

*The quality on this recording isn't as good because this was made back before his mother decided not to kick people off Napster for looking for rare stuff. Not that I was bitter when that happened, no. Of course not. Also, yes I did name that HP trilogy after this song, because Jeff is singing in French!

Welcome to the party, I hope you have a good time here :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I know you :grins:: you made me art; I always remember the people who make me pretty things.

Also, I'm so pleased that you enjoyed that Hurley piece; I had a fabulous time writing it; he's such a great character. ::waits anxiously for Lost to come back::

Hi, Alia, it's lovely to meet you :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I do so like to be in the presence of greatness.

Me too, where can we find some?

[identity profile] prairiedaun.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi, I friended you recently. Probably either because of Lost fic, the Nott series or even the O.C, I really don't know.

Myself, I'm a student and at the moment that's pretty much it. Oh, and I curl and play the bass drum in a womens-only pipe and drum band.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Plus your randomness entertains me to no end.

Me too ;)

Hello!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
::snickers::

Hello.

Next to the podium please? Keep the queue orderly and to the left!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, Spider-Man. Have you read Riptide? Fabulous. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/veuki/113598.html#cutid1)

Hello, Mar who is small and cute and likes many fandoms :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Birds are evol. Except hawks and most birds of prey. And chickens -- cos they're tasty. And I quite like swans, but they're pretty evol too.

::chuckles::

Hello :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Loathesome and lurkesome and quite prone to using adjectives with 'some' on the end, yes? ;) Hello!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Hello! :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, [livejournal.com profile] circe_tigana does rave a lot; she's quite mental in case you didn't know.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi, Rei, it's lovely to meet you :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
You curl? Tell me about curling, please? I haven't the foggiest idea how it works apart from the idea of getting as close as possible to a centre circle, while knocking other people out of the way. Much like bocci, really.

[identity profile] freedomfry.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
:) I've heard that, but we're all too afraid to mention it... :)

But she has fabulous taste in fics, so I think we can keep her for a little longer.

*waves her [livejournal.com profile] circe_tigana fangirl sign*

adorable? moi? ::preens::

[identity profile] qe2.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
also you have to sign up for yuletide next year so you can flip out with the rest of us.

Darlin', between FedTax and law review and copyediting job and ack ack ack CHRISTMAS and, oh yeah, dSSS, I am flipping out to the max over here. I'm so flipped out Ringling Brothers has hired me. But thanks for the thought :-).

EEEEEE!!!

Heh. Let me know what you think... (http://s15.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=9764A1302D214C98A80FF65178859C6D)

psst...

[identity profile] qe2.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] cmshaw curls like a curling thing and also writes smoking hot dS, mostly Ray/Ray, with many blowjobs and much happy sluttiness.

Also, if you haven't seen Men with Brooms, I recommend it. If you can tear your eyes away from Paul Gross, you'll actually pick up quite a bit about curling. Really. I promise.

[identity profile] sajee.livejournal.com 2004-12-17 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
ah, so many childhoom memories of being attacked by swans . . . my poor little hands.

[identity profile] sheldrake.livejournal.com 2004-12-18 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Well, perhaps just a little. :)

[identity profile] mskat.livejournal.com 2004-12-18 08:42 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry. never introduced myself, but I friended you during last year's OC season.
