The countdown has begun.

1. There have been a lot of new friendings happening recently, so you know, introduce yourselves! Why are you acting like you have no home training? Your mums would be appalled.
2. I got an OC calendar in a gift exchange and I bought the S1 DVDs yesterday. I believe this is now the time for me to ask for a divorce? Is this how I works again? I did see last night's episode though, and very much adore Sandy and Ryan.
serialkarma and I were discussing the non-hotness of Lindsey's mom and we've chalked it up to her not being a Newport resident. Hot people only in city limits. Also, my Ryan-adoration really knows no bounds at this point.
3. It seems that everybody and their grandparents is in the
yuletide/sekritholidayperson crunch, so I thought I'd throw up some inspirational (well, for me) music. At least the stuff is fast-paced.
a. Turin Brakes - Pain Killer -- I heart Olly and Gale, not because they're friends of friends, but because they write wicked songs with lyrics like 'You need something better than the bacon and eggs/ The creaking in the walls and the banging in the bed'
b. Elbow - Buttons and Zips and Elbow - Snooks (Progress Report) -- I couldn't decide between the two, and since I'm trying to coax
circe_tigana into the Elbow fold I thought I should put up both.
c. Gomez - Here Comes the Breeze -- Okay, this isn't really fast-paced, but to know The 'Mez is to love them, and I love this song, so just download it!
d. Jay Z - 99 Problems -- Because, yes, I know, not getting these stories done on time does feel like 99 Problems.
e. And because nothing I do is compelete without them: I present Ryan Adams singing about hookers (Tina Toledo's Street Walking Blues) and Jeff Buckley singing in French (Je n'en Connais Pas la Fin)*
Go forth and Merlin speed!
*The quality on this recording isn't as good because this was made back before his mother decided not to kick people off Napster for looking for rare stuff. Not that I was bitter when that happened, no. Of course not. Also, yes I did name that HP trilogy after this song, because Jeff is singing in French!

::is actively looking for distractions from the whole dSSS thing, while thanking her lucky stars she did NOT do Yuletide this year::

Oh, THANK you.
::kowtows in gratitude::
I've a particular tune in mind to trade back, but yousendit is being stubborn about giving me the chance to load something back...grah. Later, perhaps.

Date: 2004-12-17 11:21 am (UTC)I'm mostly an anime/comics nerd, but occasionally will get sucked into a TV show. I prefer reading Original Character stories by authors I like, but as I'm trapped in fandom verses it's difficult to get a hold of those.
...And I think I've babbled myself at you quite enough. *cough*

Date: 2004-12-17 11:21 am (UTC)er, hi! i dont think i introduced myself either, although its entirely possible i did, and im just such a spaz that i dont remember it at all.
So here is my personal ad.
Im alia, i enjoy long walks on the beach and fic in many many fandoms. I am currently obsessed with Lost and Harry Potter fic and have dedicated all my brain cells to different plot bunnies. And speculations. And possibilities. And Snape.

Date: 2004-12-17 11:35 am (UTC)Who am I? I can't honestly answer that question - perhaps my reiki therapist would be better qualified. I know that I write an awful lot of stuff about Neville though, and Seamus. And yes, on occasion, the dread Harry/Draco. I also like to stalk those writers whose character development I admire, which is how I ended up here. Master Nott is just too much fun not to have you on my friends list.
Plus your randomness entertains me to no end.
yes, well. that is enough blather, isn't it?

Date: 2004-12-17 12:53 pm (UTC)That gave me the sudden urge to smooth down my hair and stand straighter, heh. And honestly, I think my mum would be appalled enough at the man on man action thing that she'd let impoliteness slide.
I'm new to LJ, hence the lack of manners. Friended you recently because I adore your fic, and it seems every time I discover a shiny new fandom, there you are writing wonderful things. And you wrote fabulous Hurley fic, and that made me finally have to friend you.
I've been restraining myself from trying to convert you to Veronica Mars since I don't...you know...know you at all. ;)

Date: 2004-12-17 01:59 pm (UTC)I didn't friend until I knew three of the fandoms you wrote in; Lotrips, HP & OC. I don't read the first one much anymore and I'm a hopelessly spoiled newbie to the third one (it's not long ago since they only started airing the show here) because I just can't stay away from episode recaps and season two spoilers and fanfiction and suchlike.
So, uhm, yeah.
