Round II

1. Pick one dozen movies that are ones that you have special feelings about.
2. Pick a few lines of dialogue that mean something to you.
3. As people guess the film, strike out that entry.
4. If possible, after the film is guessed, explain why that movie made the list.

1. The rifle is the first weapon you learn how to use, because it lets you keep your distance from the client. The closer you get to being a pro, the closer you can get to the client. The knife, for example, is the last thing you learn. *Leon, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] random_flores

2. My girlfriend went out one night and came back married. I told everyone that I didn't care and I beat a suspect unconscious, fucked five women in three days, and drove my car the wrong way on an off-ramp. But I was okay. *The Thomas Crown Affair, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] ranaeros

3. One scoop of creamed potatoes. A slice of butter. Four peas. And as much ice cream as you'd like to eat. *Secretary, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] ambyr

4.What I'm saying is, back when we first met, you were all like "Oh phooey, I burned the darn muffins." Now, you go into a bar, ten minutes later, sailors come runnin' out. What up with that? *The Long Kiss Goodnight, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] violetsmiles

5. All I can say is, they did right by me -- and I'm bringin' me and a mess of flowers to their funeral. *Bonnie and Clyde, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] storydivagirl

6. At the beep please leave your name, number and a brief justification for the ontological necessity of modern man's existential dilemma and we'll get back to you. *Reality Bites, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] marginalia

7. The difference between a lady and a flower girl is not how she behaves, but how she is treated. *My Fair Lady, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] qe2

8. I've got two jobs. I've discovered that you have to work twice as hard when it's honest. *Gone in 60 Seconds, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] storydivagirl

9. Everyone can't be straight. Everyone can't be beautiful. Everyone can't be the same, Patrick. Some people are just gay and average. We're the strongest I think. *The Broken Hearts Club, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] jonem and [livejournal.com profile] qe2

10. Well, I've gotta go. I've got a government job to abuse, and a lonely wife to fuck. Face/Off, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] violetsmiles

11. Love is the answer, isn't it? But, sex raises a lot of very interesting questions. *Kinsey, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] zeelee_penguin

12. "People"? I ain't "people." I am a - "a shimmering, glowing star in the cinema firmament." *Singin' in the Rain, guessed by [livejournal.com profile] angel_grace and [livejournal.com profile] qe2

I have one quote left after twenty minutes, that's better than the last set. Go me! I have been defeated at last. Ah me, well I shall go lick my wounds and watch the O.C. while on cold drugs.

1. The Professional, or Leon. :-D

[identity profile] jonem.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Aha! No1 is the inestimable Mr Jean Reno and Natalie Portman in Leon. I still haven't got my copy back from a friend...

[identity profile] jonem.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
I should know 5. It's a gangster one, possibly The Untouchables? *bangs head against wall*. It'll come to me.

[identity profile] storydivagirl.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
# 5 is Bonnie and Clyde! Sadly, that's the only one is this group I know.

[identity profile] jonem.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Well done you! I couldn't remember that one for the life of me!

[identity profile] rossywar.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
I want to say no. 2 is Bad Boys, but I know that's wrong! I hope someone guesses it soon.

omg I just noticed your default icon! Is that the wonderful Ford Prefect I'm looking at?

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
That is Mos Def, rapper, actor, poet, and yes, also Ford Prefect. But he's also the host of Russell Simmons' Def Poetry on HBO and he's been in a few films.

[identity profile] plumsnickety.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know what No. 4 is, but god, does it sound amazingly like Ray and Fraser. Hee.

[identity profile] silverakira.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
[DIES]

Okay, that just made my day.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
You should write that story, I think.

[identity profile] plumsnickety.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, anybody that's not me needs to write it. I just wrote ds & gnomes, and gnomes trump muffins and sailors in any court.

[identity profile] jonem.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
My sister knows No.2, but won't tell. She says to mention Pierce Brosnan. It's not that awful one with the nuclear bomb on the train, is it?

[identity profile] ranalore.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! Is it Thomas Crown Affair?

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Ah ha! I have been defeated at last. Go Rana!

[identity profile] ranalore.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
I know two Pierce Brosnan movies, and it certainly wasn't The Nephew. *G*

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
*cracks up*

[identity profile] jonem.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Sis thinks so. It can't be Brosnan, though - I'm pretty sure I'd remember that!

[identity profile] jonem.livejournal.com 2005-01-07 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Further to that, after much wrestling and blackmail threats, she revealed that she's almost certain it was a policeman talking to Rene Russo. She also wants credit.
