why exactly is it so hard for people to believe that because i go clubbing and hang out at trendy places, i might actually have a brain?

i'm at work yesterday, working on the chess fic, and because we're slow, that's okay. i'm checking out something at the USCF when my boss walks by, and it's not 'hey, you're slacking,' instead it's 'hey, what would all your friends think of they knew you played chess?'

do i give a fuck?

does he think that if people like the night life they can't have a brain? obviously he's purporting that because i do one, i can't do the other.

in other news, the chess fic is finished for the most part. i'm tweaking it before sending it off to the betas, and i even got the lovely andariell to give it a looksie. i'm extremely excited. i might actually like this piece, it won't last long though, natch.

thanks to everyone who helped me out, especially minitrog for giving me a place to play. i found another site though, here that was perfect.

I think Civilization is better time waster. Then you have subjects and towns instead of just a bunch of silly pieces. I hate logical thinking. There's a shock, huh?

Since I'm in that sort of mood, I would posit that quite a percentage of night-lifers are people who think. They go out every night to dance, drink and hook up to escape their basic fears about the transitory nature of life. I mean, the ones whose deepest thought is over what flavor of lipgloss tastes better after a couple Stolis.
