I work at the local BookStore, so I'll be there early to make sure everyone gets one. They are already in the store in the back. In boxes. Wrapped in plastic. We had to sign a waiver saying we would not open the boxes. It's hell walking by them and knowing I can't touch it for another week!
omg, it's killing me. i also have no plan but this because i will be on the fucking road. i will be somewhere in the vicinity of iowa or illinois when the book comes out. and i cannot read in the car without puking. and my gf hasn't finished OotP yet, so there's no reading with her. and once i'm not on the road anymore, i will be unpacking... not terribly conducive to reading a book.
Of course, when I say 'local bookshop' I actually mean the big Waterstones on Picaddily, where a pile of us are planning to get our copies! Then on to a mass read-in. :)
Going to Tesco at midnight. Less bookstore, more supermarket, but all the HP fans in my area converge in the carpark beforehand - the little ones all excited and hopped up on jellybeans, and the older ones all excited and drunk. Heh.
i worked at a bookstore when OotP came out, and trust me, the long list of reservations we had were not necessary. i plan to just drive to my former place of employment and get me a copy the day it comes out.
Got my copy on reserve at Barnes and Noble. The 15th will be spent watching the season premieres of Stargate, Stargate Atlantis and BSG. I don't care for the first two but Nate's obsessed. BSG THOUGH! And theeeeeeeeeen (andthenandthenandthen!) we will head to the bookstore and I will get my copy and swoon mightily.
For some reason I can't get excited about it ... OotP came out on my birthday, so I got a copy from my kid, but I'm not really frothing about HBP. I may borrow a copy at some point from one of my MANY friends who will have waited in line to get it.
Sisters and I are going to Walmart at midnight to pick up our copies, which we have not reserved. (Yes, I know a lot of people think Walmart is the store of the devil, but it's cheap and we're poor college students.)
I, along with some friends, am dressing up like Hogwarts staff and helping out at a local Borders next Friday. I'm pretty sure I'll be purchasing then and there.
I work in a bookstore, so I'll probably get it early, but just a day or so, as it's a chain of stores. They're probably at the head office right now, so peeps like me won't take them home early, like I did last year :D.
See, when HP&OotP came out, all the borders and barnes and nobles were sold out. WE stopped at a Walmart for some t-shirts, and there were pallats and pallets covered with the books. It also only cost 15.99.
So, I'm going to the B&N release party, because last time we got to make glitter wands, and who can say no to glitter wands? But afterwards I'm going to WalMart to actually purchase the book, because it will be much cheaper. :D

I'm waiting for the seven-year-olds to come out of the mall with it, and then I'll tackle bitches and run as fast as I can.
Yeah, I'm still working a few kinks out of it, but it's the best I could come up with in 30 seconds.
