Casting call!

I understand that people are rilly rilly excited about HP and HBP and that there will be lots of squeeing and conjecturing over the next seven days, so I thank everyone in advance for using their cut-tags.

Thanks to the most-attentive genius [livejournal.com profile] circe_tigana, Kassie and I have discovered a new Slytherin toy. His name is Montague. He was stuffed in a cupboard by Fred and George in OotP and reappeared in a flipping toilet.

I clearly missed that entire bit, but seriously, WTF people? Gryffindor honour my ass! We have christened him Gavin, now all I need is some fucking casting. And for once, I admit to being flummoxed. I have fallen down on the job! I have Terry Boot (Jamie Bell), Blaise (Henry Cavill), Draco (Charlie Hunnam), and Theodore (Cillian Murphy), but no Gavin.*

Got suggestions?

*Requirements are 18-30, British, and you know, smokingly hot. Photos necessary.

Also, while I have your attention. I have discovered the crack-addledness of Battlestar Galactica. Oh. my. gods.

There's Benedict Cumberbatch, who is the lead in the BBC seafaring drama I was watching the other night.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/drama/totheendsoftheearth/images/450x187/benedict_cumberbatch2.jpg

But he looks too much like some of the others you've cast.

There's always Ioan Gryffud (sp?). Do we have any Welsh slytherins? I'll bet the Welsh slytherins are interesting.

[identity profile] plumtastic.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
His way lesser-known former flatmate Matthew Rhys would be a good candidate.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, he's Welsh (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0722629/). Kassie will love him.

Holy shit. He's fucking hot. I remember when this article came out! This one! I want this one! (http://mattrhys.isyummy.com/)

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Welsh and hot. He has my vote.

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
How does one buy/bleed/cajole Kassie's vote?

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Spammage works. Send her photos. Lots of photos. Writing too.

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
dude, he's welsh. that pretty much buys me off.

I hate the name gavin still, though.

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Fuck. I thought you liked Gavin. Elias isn't really welsh, so that's out now.

Owain or Owen?

Geraint? Which is a huge fav of mine ...

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
how is the last one pronounced? The spelling is oddly not welshy

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
GERAINT
Gender: Masculine
Usage: Welsh, Welsh Mythology
Pronounced: GE-rient (Welsh), je-RAYNT (English) [key]
Extra Info: Related Names

Meaning unknown, possibly a Welsh form of GERONTIUS. In Arthurian legend he was one of the knights of the Round Table. After he wrongly accused his wife Enid of infidelity she regained his love by being submissive.

Is Gavin still a good name? Or does he need a welsh name now? *g*

http://www.behindthename.com/nmc/wel.html

Heeee. My poor child, should I (doubtfully) have one is totally getting a Welsh name. I love them.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn! Now I will have to edit my story, or something. I will think on this later. Also Gavin IS Welsh. Mwhahahahahahaha!

I hereby baptise you, Gavin Bran Montague IV

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
MWHAHAHAHAH YAYEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!111!

::sadly, desperately enthusiastic about this::

We must do something to shore up our resolve against that Rowling woman. I'm surprised you're not more bitter. We get slagged off, but at least we get mentioned in print every blue moon. Sometimes I think she forgets about Ravenclaw altogether. Also, I have found a home for our orphan. Gavin comes from here (http://www.llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.com/). For short it's called Llanfair. Now he needs parents and ties to the community. I, for one, nomination Kristen Scott Thomas and Jeremy Northam. Unless we think they're too young... then I think it should KST and Lian Neeson.

The church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio's of the red cave

Just in case people lost their way :P

I loff it.

His parents come to Hogwarts remember, so it's doubtful they are death eaters, though one might expect them to have some kind of pureblood entitlement based on that. KST and Liam Neeson works for me. I like the idea that Gavin has a bit of that beefy brawling gentleman in him.

Your story has killed me. Seriously. If I had your phone number I would call you right now and be incoherent and possibly breathe heavily. Be thankful I don't.

I was at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch on Wednesday. I don't live very far from it, by car, but by bus it takes bloody ages to get anywhere on Anglesey. Um. That's just random info. It's signposted Llanfairpwllgwyngyll. Um.
