Casting call!

I understand that people are rilly rilly excited about HP and HBP and that there will be lots of squeeing and conjecturing over the next seven days, so I thank everyone in advance for using their cut-tags.

Thanks to the most-attentive genius [livejournal.com profile] circe_tigana, Kassie and I have discovered a new Slytherin toy. His name is Montague. He was stuffed in a cupboard by Fred and George in OotP and reappeared in a flipping toilet.

I clearly missed that entire bit, but seriously, WTF people? Gryffindor honour my ass! We have christened him Gavin, now all I need is some fucking casting. And for once, I admit to being flummoxed. I have fallen down on the job! I have Terry Boot (Jamie Bell), Blaise (Henry Cavill), Draco (Charlie Hunnam), and Theodore (Cillian Murphy), but no Gavin.*

Got suggestions?

*Requirements are 18-30, British, and you know, smokingly hot. Photos necessary.

Also, while I have your attention. I have discovered the crack-addledness of Battlestar Galactica. Oh. my. gods.

Is Gavin still a good name? Or does he need a welsh name now? *g*

http://www.behindthename.com/nmc/wel.html

Heeee. My poor child, should I (doubtfully) have one is totally getting a Welsh name. I love them.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn! Now I will have to edit my story, or something. I will think on this later. Also Gavin IS Welsh. Mwhahahahahahaha!

I hereby baptise you, Gavin Bran Montague IV

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
MWHAHAHAHAH YAYEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!111!

::sadly, desperately enthusiastic about this::

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
We must do something to shore up our resolve against that Rowling woman. I'm surprised you're not more bitter. We get slagged off, but at least we get mentioned in print every blue moon. Sometimes I think she forgets about Ravenclaw altogether. Also, I have found a home for our orphan. Gavin comes from here (http://www.llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.com/). For short it's called Llanfair. Now he needs parents and ties to the community. I, for one, nomination Kristen Scott Thomas and Jeremy Northam. Unless we think they're too young... then I think it should KST and Lian Neeson.

The church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio's of the red cave

Just in case people lost their way :P

I loff it.

His parents come to Hogwarts remember, so it's doubtful they are death eaters, though one might expect them to have some kind of pureblood entitlement based on that. KST and Liam Neeson works for me. I like the idea that Gavin has a bit of that beefy brawling gentleman in him.

Your story has killed me. Seriously. If I had your phone number I would call you right now and be incoherent and possibly breathe heavily. Be thankful I don't.

*kisses on forehead*

You are very sweet. Also, Kassie wants to rename the baby. She's not on board for Gavin, but she's happy to let Matthew Goode be his older brother, Bevan; he's Oliver Wood's year. I'm off for my afternoon constitutional, yammer amongst yourselves while I consider the wonders of the Montague family.

list of welsh names to pick from:

Dafudd (DAH-vith), Bran, Nye, Rhys, Gareth, Hew, Cai, Sion (sean)

There is an umlimited well here.

I am v v partial to Bevan, so I am glad his brother is named that.

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I love the name Gareth so fucking much, but it's not really Montague, I think.

My vote is Geraint, as I just said somewhere else.

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
ok, so I was saying to Z in email, re: the parents

If his dad's a Ravenclaw maybe he's a muckity muck with International
Medimagical Council.

Maybe his mom's the wizarding version of a PR agent or something
hahaha Lucius could be her client, hell, all the nutcases can be her clients. Maybe she orchestrated the whole Smear Potter media campaign throughout OotP.

And I think Clive Owen should be his dad.

I also appears the Montague is a slave name, a corruption of what was an earlier, celtic name. There is debate as to what the original name was. Maybe Bevan has a whole thing about "reinstating our familial rights through demugglization of our family name" or some other zaniness.

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Clive Owen CAN'T be his dad. Though I have to say, now that you're talking International Medimagical Council (!!!!) I'm thinking of Beyond Borders quite happily.

Bevan is older, yes? Yes. Mmm.

::ponders::

I'm going off line now, and you're going to have all sorts of fun without me. Damn time travelling. But I'm telling you, I love you both. This is all good.

I think the Greengrasses and the Montagues have a familial alliance.

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Quite obviously, Bevan and Monty's mom *is* a Greengrass. Her name is Tegan. Greengrass was once a welsh surname. But eventually they changed it to the English to save themselves the trouble, because ambition means changing your name is needs be.

Bevan is Oliver's age.

I have to go, too, so you needn't worry of too much plotting.

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
no way on Liam neeson!

This site is not telling me WHERE in Wales this is. That's very important, because he has be from the north.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, okay, no Liam... I go back to Jeremy Northam. or Ray Winstone (now that's a scary man, but in a good way) or Ian McShane...

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
why isn't Vinnie Jones someone's dad yet?

or Clive Owen for that matter. They're around the same age as Lucius, at any rate.

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Clive Owen is Max. He's post-war!Blaise's Lisbon embassy* boyfriend. ::glares possessively:: Don't even think of trying to mess with that.

*though clearly much more than that

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
what in the hell are you talking about?

Vinnie Jones?

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Heeee. Something Zahra will one day write for me for Blaise :) With Mason! And Rene!

Okay, that's a digression. But I live in hope.

Vinnie Jones should totally be Pansy Parkinson's dad.

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, he really should be!

OMG!

Hahaha!

Parkinson didn't die in OotP, did he?

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Tom Wilkinson?!
Terrance Stamp?

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Tom Wilkinson! Nice. Nice nice nice.

Christopher Eccleston, also. ::ponders::

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Eccleston!

Wilkinson is sort of old.

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-08 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Eccleston would be perfect as the father. Dark when he pleases, resolute when he needs to be, freaky congenial when it's called for. And a Doctor with the Medimagical council ;)

I was at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch on Wednesday. I don't live very far from it, by car, but by bus it takes bloody ages to get anywhere on Anglesey. Um. That's just random info. It's signposted Llanfairpwllgwyngyll. Um.

[identity profile] kismeteve.livejournal.com 2005-07-09 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Sometimes I think she forgets about Ravenclaw altogether.

*grumbles*

Or comes up with characters like Cho.
