Casting call!

I understand that people are rilly rilly excited about HP and HBP and that there will be lots of squeeing and conjecturing over the next seven days, so I thank everyone in advance for using their cut-tags.

Thanks to the most-attentive genius [livejournal.com profile] circe_tigana, Kassie and I have discovered a new Slytherin toy. His name is Montague. He was stuffed in a cupboard by Fred and George in OotP and reappeared in a flipping toilet.

I clearly missed that entire bit, but seriously, WTF people? Gryffindor honour my ass! We have christened him Gavin, now all I need is some fucking casting. And for once, I admit to being flummoxed. I have fallen down on the job! I have Terry Boot (Jamie Bell), Blaise (Henry Cavill), Draco (Charlie Hunnam), and Theodore (Cillian Murphy), but no Gavin.*

Got suggestions?

*Requirements are 18-30, British, and you know, smokingly hot. Photos necessary.

Also, while I have your attention. I have discovered the crack-addledness of Battlestar Galactica. Oh. my. gods.

If you mean for the mention in CoS, p. 140 (UK version), The Deathday Party.

"'That vanishing cabinet was extremely valuable!' [Filch] was saying to Mrs Norris. 'We'll have Peeves out this time my sweet.'"

If it's so valuable, I'm assuming they don't have a whole stack of them lying around...

DUDE.

I once had an entire fic based around the vanishing cabinet. I didn't know it turned up in C0S though. Interesting!

There's even a description on the next page:

"[...] Harry could see the wreckage of a large black and gold cabinet which appeared to have been dropped from a great height."

I hope that matches the description in your fic. :p I wouldn't worry too much if it didn't, though, I only noticed when I reread CoS a couple of weeks ago myself... It's the kind of tiny detail you read over.

However, the description, Filch calling it 'extremely valuable' and it being kind of casually mentioned again in OoP makes me think it might pop up again in the future. And if it got dropped from great height -- I wonder why it was put up so high (and presumably out of reach)? There's just too much mystery about it for it not to come up again. :-)

I seriously had this whole bloody business where Regulus Black CREATED a rift in the castle by using unforgivable curses on the walls, and then to fix it, they built cabinets over top of the rift and it turned into an ornate piece of evil furniture. But I can't find the notes any more. Heee.

You are my hero. I agree. The cabinet will be used again.
