I've been dying to show off this icon for days (courtesy of abbycadabra), but I thought it would help to have something a bit more substantive to accompany it. So. I'm getting ready to go on holiday for a bit, and my ability to write has already departed for said destination. I'd planned to just be off, but I saw this in musesfool's LJ and thought I might give it a go:

Name a pairing (that I'm familiar with, in a fandom I'm familiar with) and I will write one* line of a story for it. Please include a one word prompt (which may or may not be used, dunno yet, I'll have to see how it goes).

Fandoms availabile are as follows: Harry Potter, Smallville, The 4400, BSG, Spider-Man 2, X2, Lost, due South, Ocean's 11 & 12 and whatever else you've seen me write in that I've forgotten now.

Mr Sark looked at the grainy photographs again and glanced up at Ewan his face blank enough to make even the most well-trained actor jealous. "And what exactly am I suppose to do with these?" Sark asked blithely.

"Well, I was thinking you could just kill her."

"And I would do that, because why? It seems to me that it would be a greater service to off this Mr Law."

Ewan sighed. Good help was so hard to find.

I have been deeply in love with Jamie since, well, since February, actually, when I first read Telegraph Avenue and left you a comment with a cover graphic in lieu of feedback. He's a character that I know you've left behind, but for some reason he's stayed with me. I always hope that you'll resurrect him - whether in an original story, something fannish, or even as the LBD of your multiverse dabblings. I love this character hugely, and I'll take him where I find him.

So. When you asked before if you could write me something, I wish I'd thought to ask you for something Jamie. Thank you for this brief resurrection.

I've loved Jamie ever since I first read Telegraph Avenue back in February, when I left you a comment with a cover graphic in lieu of all the things I wanted to say. I know you've moved on, but Jamie is someone that I always hoped you'd come back to. He's that rarest fictional creature, that magic character who breathes deeper than the page and who stays with you long after the story is finished. I only wish, when you asked if you could write me something, that I'd thought to say: something with Jamie in it. I truly hoped he'd outgrow that first appearance and you'd tell us the rest of the story. Sad though it undoubtedly is, I wonder if he'll make occasional cameos in your other stuff, walk-on parts in the fannish multiverse until he grows a story of his own.
