Thursday night telly.

First of all, I love Ugly Betty. I have been waiting for this show since upfronts, and it's just as good as I hoped it would be. America Ferrera is amazing, and OMG, it's like The Devil Wears Prada, but with a real girl for a change*. I've kept my eye on America since Real Women Have Curves and she's just so fucking refreshing. I feel this overwhelming urge to write UB fic from the jump which hasn't happened since, err, The O.C.

*No disrespect to Anne Hathaway, but dropping from a size 6 to a size 4 is not my idea of a life-affirming goal.

As for Grey's Anatomy I have never been so fucking disappointed in this show in my entire LIFE.

Whomever wrote this episode deserves to be slathered in honey and locked in a tank with red ants and cockroaches and BEES.

Bailey acting all out of whack all episode and then stepping up to take responsibility for Izzie playing God? HELL FUCKING NO.

Way to just piss all over one of the strongest women characters on TV. How dare they!

What I love about Bailey is her uncompromising ethics; she is not responsible for Izzie acting the fool, she did that all on her own. And now you're saying that Bailey got soft because she had a kid? Nice with the demeaning working women all across the world. Bailey was fine, she got soft when you made her all OOC to try and make Izzie look better. To which I say FUCK YOU!

Also, this George/Callie thing is pissing me off. The bit where he's leading her on, and you're trying to pretend like it's okay?

It's fucking NOT.

She took the flack for Meredith being a home-wrecker and Meredith didn't even THANK her.

Again, GA writers, you suck.

As for Meredith and Shepard, whatever, they've deserved each other since day one.

I love Addison and am thrilled that McSteamy is back. Everyone else can rot.

In conclusion, you don’t even get any points for having Shaft and Julia be Preston's parents.

Asses.

Yes yes yes on "Ugly Betty." I loved last night's episode, and it was so refreshing to me to see a "real" woman in a role like that, instead of a supermodel in glasses. Also, I was happy that the point of the whole ordeal did not end up coming down to giving her a makeover so she could fit into someone else's mold.

If McSteamy hadn't come back, I would stop watching. As it is, I'll be watching SPN, flipping back to GA during commercial breaks.

I told y'all to fire this show like i did.

Amen to Ugly Betty! We watched it last night, and while I found it to be a tiny bit predictable (you had to know she would finally quit, and then he would come to his senses, etc...), I really liked the premise behind it. It's a little quirky, which I fear may turn people away from it and leave it in the land of the really fucking good shows that got cancelled (i.e., Kitchen Confidential!) but hopefully it'll catch on 'cause I dig it, yo!

Pretty much agree with you about every single one of those points. Bailey is APOLOGIZING to Izzie for acting like a fool? She's not responsible for that shit, because no, she could NOT have stoppied Izzie. She could have taken her off the case and it wouldn't have kept Izzie out of Denny's room.

I was SO FUCKING FURIOUS with the last ten minutes of this show. All of these people SUCK except for Addison.

I was hesitant to click because I don't like spoilers, but doh, this episode was leaked last week so I already watched it!

Now, I agree with most of this post. Especially the George/Callie thing, because I freaking hate that she-man, and McSteamy being back because everybody looks good wet and he looked even hotter.

I love Addison and am thrilled that McSteamy is back. Everyone else can rot.

That really sums up my feelings about the show at this point.

I've been wanting to watch Ugly Betty, because America was so so so good in Real Women Have Curves, but it's on against The Office, which sucks. Boo. Maybe I'll have to download.

Yesss to Ugly Betty!! Even the Washington Post reviewers loved it, and they're normally so assholish about movies and television reviews.

First of all, I love Ugly Betty.

Oh, me too! *sighs dreamily* Gina Gershon was a hoot as Donatella Versace Fabia. And Betty's gay nephew is awesome. "Chamomile?"

I feel this overwhelming urge to write UB fic from the jump which hasn't happened since, err, The O.C.

*quivers with excitement* Also, Alan Dale! *adores him and his pilates-doing self*

Again, GA writers, you suck.

I just read today that one of them is all ticked off that the New York Times quoted one of her blog entries on the front page of the Arts & Leisure section, like whatthefuckever, bitch, you do realize the potential audience for anything on the internet is way bigger than the potential audience for anything in the NYT, right? What an idiot. I don't even watch the show and I hate the writers.

I'm all for realistic women on television, but I didn't like Ugly Betty. It was too much like a Mexican soap opera.

I have heard rumors that Peter Paige (from Queer as Folk) is going to be on GA. I cannot wait.

I reaaaally loved Ugly Betty and am so happy that there are, like, new shows I like this season. I can't think of a single show last year that I still watch--GA doesn't count because I just jumped on the bandwagon. But this season, so far I've got Studio 60, Heroes and Ugly Betty.

As for GA, well, the highlight for me was seeing Emmett again. Although I actually downloaded the episode last Friday so I really only tuned in again for next week's promos. And dude. I adore Callie (cos I adore Sara Ramirez) and I just KNOW George is going to fuck it up and it angers me. In advance. The McSteamy shot, though. Very, very nice.

I just wanted to share in the Betty love. I haven't been so excited about a show in forever.

I called my mom last night and was like, "I can't believe she wore the shorts, and they looked terrible on her." I noticed her thighs were touching, which is a problem I relate to, but is unheard of in tv land.

MCSTEAMY. ♥

Also, as much as I dislike Alex, I really dig him banging ladies in the bathroom. That's where he BELONGS.

She took the flack for Meredith being a home-wrecker and Meredith didn't even THANK her.
EXACTLY! And Bailey's stepping in was really irritating; they absolved Izzie after two episodes. Weak. Very weak.

Also, I loved Ugly Betty too. It's fun and camp and sweet, and I hope you're serious about writing fic for it. I would read it in a heart beat. enable, enable, enable....
