Recap/GA/Dream crap/Yuletide

Last night (okay, more like this morning) I had a dream that I was hanging out at [livejournal.com profile] vylit's house, but she was trying to get me to go home because John Sheppard was supposed to meet me there. I presume we were dating (???) but she was all you have to go home now, he has a surprise for you. To which I was all, um, what? Okay, the surprise? He was wearing pink underwear under a trenchcoat. I don't know how I knew about the underwear, but a) I think it had RUFFLES and b) .... Anyroad, I went home, opened the door to the flat, and he was there and I immediately woke up, because I prefer not to be scarred for life if it's all the same to you, Vi.

First she screws me over with the [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock-trade and now this!

I have been SO goddamn productive this week! I wrote more this week than I've written in the last month! I wrote SGA That's No Way to Tell a Lie; BSG If You're the Answer, What's the Question? (Kara-centric) and The Great, Tragic Man!Pain of Commander Lee Adama (so self explanatory). Go team [livejournal.com profile] hackthis!

p.s. Ole skool BSG is on marathon on Sci-Fi

It's the most wonderful time of the year, children, I mean [livejournal.com profile] yuletide. I fucking LOVE me some [livejournal.com profile] yuletide! I've done it all three years it's been active, and so far I've written The Usual Suspects, Spider-Man 2, and Grey's Anatomy. There's just something so refreshing about the sheer terror of getting your recepient's request and thinking Oh shit, I don't even know these other two choices. What fandoms are these? What the hell? I am SO fucked! I better make this shit work. It's amazing what you can pull out of your ass when you're that pressed. Plus, one of the best things about [livejournal.com profile] yuletide is seeing what else everyone else has done. Where else are you going to get fantabulous stores in Calvin & Hobbes or Four Weddings and a Funeral or Absolutely Fabulous?

This year I've gone ahead and submitted the six fandom I am all about, which I don't really think will be a surprise to anyone: Entourage, GA (I'm hunting for that Callie/Alex or Alex/Addison (actually more on this later), Kitchen Confidential (viva KC), Dead Like Me (RIP), Temeraire, and uh, O11. I know. I am cheap for the president.

This is really just my way of saying if you're thinking of trying ye Ol' Yule Partay I cannot recommend it highly enough.

ETA: NUTS! By virtue of the 1400+ stories on ff.net Grey's isn't considered a rare fandom anymore. Ah, well, [livejournal.com profile] elynross said just because they're not writing what you want doesn't make it obscure. But that then begs my question, flist, who the hell is writing Grey's cos I know it's none of you hags!

** I'm going to bust out with the Grey's het this week or the next, because Alex/Addison and Alex/Callie are where it's at. Oh yis. Meanwhile, POLL TIME!

I wish the last question was a ticky box so that I could also check off Derek McDickhead, George (which is a recent and sad development), and Eric Sloan (how are you gonna insist that you love Addison and then call a C0section "not a real surgery"? Douche.)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
George has been on my list all season, which admittedly is not long, but enough for me to be depressed. My new star is Alex. Followed shortly by Addison and Bailey. Also, I keep thinking of a nice foursome of Alex/Callie/Sloan/Addison. Tell me you don't see it. As for slagging off Addison's job, dude, I must've repressed that, b/c when he's on the screen my brain doesn't work.

[identity profile] torchthisnow.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I know. Three episodes feels really long to hate George, though. I was SO PROUD of Callie - because on the one hand, yeah, Izzie did need him right then and it really was important, but if he'd just put Callie, his GIRLFRIEND, first a couple of other times when he should have, then it wouldn't have been a problem.

I'm totally onboard with the foursome. When Addie and Alex exchanged that LOOK and she said "I think you're gonna miss me", I mentally went "IN YOUR PANTS."

George has never been good a boyfriend to Callie. He's far too concerned with Izzie and Meredith. And please don't defend Izzie near me or I might have a rage blackout.

[identity profile] torchthisnow.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, dude, I will not defend Izzie ever. (I felt a little bad for her with the muffins thing, but that's it.) I'm just saying that I understand why he felt like it was more important to be with her right then, but that's the point - it's ALWAYS more important for him to be with Meredith and Izzie, even when it's not for anything that actually is important. If that made sense.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Izzie... yeah, just, no. She's so far beyond the pale to me that even the muffin thing just made me go '*stab!stab@stab!* I will never forgive GA for faking like it was Bailey's fault that Izzie is an unethical emotional manipulating bra model. Just saying.

And George, well, you know George didn't want Callie, because he wanted Callie, he wanted her because she wanted him. Ever done that to somebody? I have. And it's fucked up and WRONG. My only complaint is that she didn't dump his non-prioritizing ass sooner.

[identity profile] serialkarma.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Eric Sloan (how are you gonna insist that you love Addison and then call a C0section "not a real surgery"? Douche.)

WORD. Also, please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks he looks like Leonardo Dicaprio.

[identity profile] torchthisnow.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I LIKE Leonardo DiCaprio, so I can't get behind that. I do think he's not actually THAT HOT, though.

He was DONE for me when he made those comments about C-sections and then told Ale to go get him a cup of coffee, like, hello, you're supposed to be teaching him about surgery, doucheface.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I loved the coffee thing, because Alex is such an ass and here's someone who's even more of an ass! I think Alex liked it too. :D

[identity profile] torchthisnow.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I did like the "Hee, now Alex knows what HE'S like" aspect of it, but still. Entertainment industry interns? We're there to go get coffee. Surgical interns? If you want to humiliate them, make them do stitches or something.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Ach, Alex could stand to be brought down a few pegs. I'll tell you what McSteamy did do to piss me off -- he tried to belittle Miranda, and homie don't play that.

[identity profile] serialkarma.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, I agree with you about Leonardo Dicaprio, it just weirds me out that McEw (thanks, Z!) looks so much like him. And yeah, the C-section thing--I don't have words for how infuriating that is. And why isn't Addison more furious at him?

[identity profile] torchthisnow.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
She did give him a LITTLE bit of a smackdown at the end. The thing that I think about Addison and McEw is that everywhere I turn, GA fans are all "Oh they're so hot and they're so perfect together and I'm so haaaappy they'll be together." Which shouldn't surprise me, because these people are also "Mer/Der" (gag) die hard fans.

But is it jsut me, or is Addison and McEw ALWAYS been totally one sided? She's not frickin' in love with him. She used him to elicit a reaction from her husband, and then she used him again as a booty call and people are saying they're perfect together? SHE IS NOT INTO ANYTHING BUT HIS...McEW JUNIOR.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never thought they were perfect together, but I do think he's damn hot. Addison's too hung up on McDickhead, but I mean shit, I'd hit that Sloan-thing too. I think he's crazy about her, b/c she's NOT crazy about him, men are weird that way.

What I'm really waiting on is the McDickhead/McEw slash, because you KNOW all this bullshit is about some bad break-up they had when Derek married Addison in the first place and then Eric's been trying to seduce her ever since, to get his man back, but it's just misfired all over the place. :D

[identity profile] torchthisnow.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
When you finish the Alex/Addison, Alex/Callie, McEw/Callie or whatever you do first, I insist that you write that.

I kind of wanted to write Finn/McDickhead when they were all, "You go fishing? I go fishing! Want to make out?"

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)

Yeah, I may have to get up on that. I've been thinking on it since Sloan appeared last season. Seriously, I should find that post, cos the minute I saw him and McDickhead I was all 'oooooh, bad break-up that one.'

I kind of wanted to write Finn/McDickhead when they were all, "You go fishing? I go fishing! Want to make out?"

Yes! Yes! I thought that too. Get on that, yo!

oh, so you mean, like, the writers?

SHE IS NOT INTO ANYTHING BUT HIS...McEW JUNIOR.

that makes him sound like a happy meal.

*facepalm*

[identity profile] torchthisnow.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, so you mean, like, the writers?

Oh SNAP.

Okay, next time I will just spell it out and say PENIS.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-10-13 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
*claps like derranged seal*

Y'all are fabulous. Really.
