Awesomecakes.

I had a whole post, but I got distracted by having to explain to someone what tea bagging is and lost the whole thing.

In short:

a) Person who bought me a flower = Adoration and hearts and chubby smartass angels who shoot you in the ass with an arrow, and then you bitch to Carson about how it really hurts, and the whole of Atlantis gets to talk about what a great ass you have and it's okay. Um, yeah.

b) My writing mojo has vanished on me. Just in time for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide. Just fucking great.

c) Does anybody have any character meta on Hiro and Nathan so I can write cracked-out friend fic with them in it, even though I haven't watched most of the Heroes, just the bits with them in it?

d)My day has been made MOST AWESOME by [livejournal.com profile] serialkarma telling me that Rachel McAdams has signed on to be Clare in the Time Traveler's Wife. And by 'most awesome' I mean that there was whooping and hollering and bouncing up and down in my chair, because the only way this could be more right is if they got Ryan Gosling to play the most beloved Henry, except like [livejournal.com profile] torchthisnow said, TTW is NOT The Notebook, pt II. Still, I cannot begin to tell you how amazing The Time Traveler's Wife is as a novel, just that it was my favorite book of 2005, and that my copy is now travelling around the country to indoctrinate other people into the brilliance.

Story Rec: [livejournal.com profile] runpunkrun. Punk Manuverability (I spelt it right and everything!). Stargate: Atlantis. Able to Zoo. Twenty-six stories of 100 words where there are blue daisies and orgies and eavesdropping. How can one be with down with the rainbow crank? And no, that's not even a drug reference.

I suggest that you just watch Heroes; it's really fun!

I've tried, but the rest of the characters just... meh.

What is tea bagging?

Yay! for Rachel McAdams for Clare! Suits her well. The Time Traveller's Wife is an incredibly beautiful story and I'm still more than grateful to the friend who gave it to me as a birthday present. Am reccing it like whoa to anybody who listens.

Tea bagging (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=tea+bagging). Remember you asked.

Oh. Ah well.

Now for what reason does my brain remember that? Common knowledge? Nice to drop in small talk? I wish I had a brain interested in remembering literary terms...

Yay! Someone else who adored The Time Traveler's Wife.

Ok, I swear I must be one of the only people that couldn't get through TTW. Not that I didn't enjoy what I read because I did, but there were too many parts that were just soo damn dry it was a struggle to get through them. I shall once again try to get through it though... sometimes... before the movie... maybe.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
You didn't like it?! *is v sad*

[identity profile] screaming-mimie.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Not that I didn't like it, more that it didn't grab me and pull me in the way I like books to do. I was more than half way through when I gave up on it, so I did read quite a bit of it, it just never really held my interest,

[identity profile] missdeviant.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
OH MY!

CLARE! HEARTS!

I am torn between using my TTTW icon and my McAdams icon. GAH.

(I still want Jim Caviezel to play Henry. DREAM CAST.)

[identity profile] teaspoon.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
d just made my day. PERFECT, and omg, if they got ryan to play henry, i think i would die of joy.

[identity profile] rozza.livejournal.com 2006-11-07 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
OMG. Rachel as Clare? How brilliant. I absolutely adore the Time Traveler's Wife. I was incredibly sad to finish it the first time I read it, because the experience of not knowing how it would end would never be repeated. And then I immediately started reading it again. Now for the perfect Harry...

*sigh* Between you and me, maybe one day EVERYONE will know what tea-bagging is.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-11-08 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
We're a bad influence, baby girl. Like the Jason/Tim FNL I'm writing right now. I couldn't help it. Tim has this *mouth*

Yeah, me. TTW was a hot ticket during my illustrious Borders stint, and I tried in vain to get into it. Dry. But I like Ms. McA, so we'll see.

Heroes is the shit. Steve's getting me caught up. Crrrack, I tell you! You will come up and we will watch.
