No Ordinary Love

I am not full of virtues and noble qualities. I love. That is all. But I love strongly, exclusively and steadfastly. - George Sand

Hate requires energy. It requires constant thought and maintenance and upkeep. It’s a rather taxing business. Hate is too much like love; and it’s far too easy for Draco to volley between one and the other.

He would be far better off if he were indifferent.

Indifference requires nothing.

Draco could never be indifferent to Harry Potter, and therein lies his problem. There are many things that Draco feels and none of them are a desire to let Potter go, to cut him off.

Feelings of any kind insure an inability to be indifferent, and light is only enjoyable if there is darkness to measure it against.

Hate comes naturally, love seems to come even moreso. Figuring out what to do with both has coalesced into a miasma of sleepless nights and silencing spells around Draco’s bed.

It’s obvious that something must be done, the question is what? The issue always comes down to the same impasses: a mere truce would cause suspicion, and friendship of any kind won’t suffice. A continued dislike will simply amount to nothingness, and a declaration of his... desires would be foolhardy.

If it were anyone else, none of this would be necessary. No forethought would be required, Draco would simply take what he wants, but Harry Potter isn’t just anyone. It’s only to be expected that traditional methods don’t apply here.

This isn’t an ordinary situation, and Draco has no intention of giving up simply because he can’t decide between love and hate.

Impromptu's a good movie. I love Judy Davis and her George is just so... fucking awesome. For lack of a better term. *G*

I watched the DVD tonight and swooned a bit over Oliver. Bless his Scottish heart. And now I'm starting to love Draco/Harry. *sigh*

Ah, perfect. Just exact and to the point and everything that needs to be said, really.

Figuring out what to do with both has coalesced into a miasma of sleepless nights and silencing spells around Draco’s bed.

That is gorgeous. Love your unrequited Draco. So much.
