All the chatter, all the time.

I was going to post some blathering here about how I've evolved from a big fandom lover to a small fandom lover*, but the fact of the matter is that I don't even care about size of the fandom as long as the quality of the material is ace and other people see it too (and are thinking about writing it). Mostly I just want people to squee with, so.

The Wire people, did that season finale have you crawling behind the sofa too? How is Omar so awesome? How are Kima and Carver so hot? Did you vote for Carcetti for Mayor?

Ugly Betty viewers: Daniel and Sofia? Daniel & Betty? Betty & Henry? How fabulous is Justin? Makeover or keep it real?

Friday Night Lights lovers, is our show really the best show on the air right now or am I just hallucinating? Is Jason Street getting hotter from week to week? How badly is Smash screwing up?

Discuss.

*Size is relative to the number of people watching, squeeing, and churning out meta/fic/recs/etc, not the column inches of your dick or wank.

*blinks* Tuesday night dinner is a story waiting to be written. The way Tim still comes while Jason's in the hospital even though he doesn't go see Jason, and the Streets are just trying to make everything okay, and then the first one after Jason's home, Tim shows up anyway and Jason's like THE FUCK? And he throws the peas at Tim and goes to his room. And Tim tries to talk to him through the door, and Jason's all 'get out! you're not a part of this family anymore!' and Tim leaves, but comes back the next week. And the next. Oh, the woobielicious angst!

*so, uh, yeah*

Dude. Don't be teasing me like this. Please. I beg of you.

Friday Night Lights FTW!

It's the best drama on tv by miles. AND it's got lots and lots of hot guys in it: I'm in love with Jason, Tim, Matt and Coach. Oh, and Coach's wife, Tami. Who is nine billion shades of awesome. I honestly can't think of a single way that it could be better, and I don't think I can say that about any other show I watch.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I am *thinking* on it. It really depends which story jumpstarts itself first. This or Nathan (Heroes). Except this one has kind of built itself. Damn you Jason Street and your hotass anger!

Hee! ::claps hands::

Oh look, Jason/Lyla/Tim even have a song (http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=E3301CDE3A760CFC)!

When they did the powder puff thing I pretty much fell out of the chair laughing

I just screamed with laughter, had to pause and remember how to breathe, and then I rewound a bunch of times because it was just that awesome.

I loved seeing what Smash was like when he was genuinely interested in a girl -- he's still Smash, but so different than when he puts on that public face for all those girls who come by while he's trying to have a conversation with Waverly.

And yeah, I totally felt for Lyla despite myself, and I am so very glad that the internet wasn't easily accessible when I was in high school because I imagine I would've had a colorful hate page.

I could watch Tim look at Jason ALL DAY.

Thank you, don't mind if I do!

Justin is probably my favorite character on UB, like the rest of the characters are great, but Justin just sort of seals the deal. And you can't make me choose between Daniel and Henry! You can't! I like both of them, so either way the show goes it's a win-win situation for me.

I just screamed with laughter, had to pause and remember how to breathe, and then I rewound a bunch of times because it was just that awesome.

They were so into it, and they did a really good chorus line kick, and then Saracen with his backflips and Smash mooning the cheerleaders.

I agree that seeing Smash actually genuinely interested in something (besides football) was just a wonderful change. I mean you can see him on this downward trajectory, which is freaking me out, but I loved how he was just rushing around trying to make everything perfect. Aw, Smash.

The internet thing, I mean damn, that was just -- what did she ever do to them? But of course kids are cruel like that. I felt really bad for her, because it's clear she doesn't have a Riggins of her own, and by that I mean a BFF. She can't have that Riggins because he's already spoken for. I was going to say something else intelligent, possibly wondering who Tim sees when he jerks off at night, but then I started thinking about Jason kissing Lyla's hand and wondering if he'd do that for Tim.

Oh, FNL. Why do you have to be so good?

Re: Ugly Betty...

Betty/Henry: Like, duh. It's just something I know.

Walter/bus: The day his whining ends forever, rainbows will appear worldwide.

Hilda: *replaces her shampoo with Nair as retribution for not telling Betty about Henry's phone call*

Daniel/Amanda: Here's a pairing that smacked me out of the blue. Someone much wiser than I will have to explain to me how Amanda became sympathetic. Besides, Eric Mabius already said it was the death of the original (Colombian) show when Betty married her boss, so I think Daniel/Betty is off the table for now. (Thank god.)

Christina/dialogue: As in, it would be nice if she had some. And if she treated Betty consistently. In the pilot, she was super-nice, but ever since, she's been weird and curt. *is confused*

Justin: Could not be any more fabulous.

Wilhelmina: See entry for Justin.

Marc: Is totally awesome.

Makeover?: I kind of like Betty where she is now, with her sorta-controlled hair and less-schlumpy clothes, but not, y'know, FASHIONY. (It is *so* a word, shut up.) I like to see her resist how much she's going to be affected by working at a fashion magazine.

This is very good news...we need more fic!

[identity profile] romancandles.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Jason is getting hotter by the week. Soon he's going to melt my tiny screen.

[identity profile] torchthisnow.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Betty and Henry. SO SO SO FABULOUS. And absolutely, keep it real. I look around for UB fic sometime, and it really disappoints me that the majority of it seems to be Betty/Daniel, but to get him, she always has to become pretty.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't stop talking about it. Every other conversation is about FNL and Smash or Jason or Tim or Matt or some combination thereof. Damn it feels good to be a gangster have something to squee about.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
See, now that's the ticket!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
HAHAHAHA. That's her name in the clothing closet, Christina, for the life of me I couldn't remember. I dunno if she's being mean as much as, you know, she's just being busy. Wilhemina is awesome. I am bitter with Hilda about the Henry thing too though.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Last night my screen started sparking when he was in his bedroom and Tim was just lounging against the doorway. I bet there's a groove in the wood from Tim's hip. *blinks* Okay, so I might be a little manic about their angsty-love, but can you blame me? I mean all Tim did last night was try to make things right for Jason and all he did was fail. Of course he did sleep with his best friend's girlfriend, but that's only because he's got a major sekrit crush and he figured he'd never get Jason anyway. Lyla is Tim's proxy. Oh Jason, how can you not see it?!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I think she already is pretty. I suspect there'll be some moment where she transforms for Daniel, he misses it, she says screw it and goes back to herself and THEN he gets it. At least it would be cool if it went that way. Get on that, yeah.

[identity profile] dorrie6.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, Ugly Betty, how I love her and everyone else on that show. I think I would fiercely ship Betty/Daniel if I wasn't so busy shipping Betty/Henry. And yes, Justin is the LOVE.

I am 100% in favor of keeping it real, which doesn't mean that I'm opposed to Betty developing her own style, which I think is a natural process for any young person making their way in the world for the first time. But I'd hate to see her get a makeover that is forced on to her in any way, and I'd hate to see her lose her personal simplicity.

On an additional note, I am truly thrilled that the writers have made me really love everyone, even characters I hated in the beginning.

[identity profile] dorrie6.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Hilda: *replaces her shampoo with Nair as retribution for not telling Betty about Henry's phone call*

YES YES YES.

I have so much hate about that. I can't stop with the hate.

[identity profile] dorrie6.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I think this timeline works for where I am on this. It lets me ship Betty/Henry all I want right now, with the prospect of Betty/Daniel later on.

[identity profile] sarkastic.livejournal.com 2006-12-13 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Other people watch The Wire! OMG. But yeah, I would've been behind the sofa if I hadn't been watching it on my computer. Randy and Dukie and Michael all broke my heart, but I was gleeful that Namond got adopted. Bodie made me cry, because out of nowhere I started to love him.

How is Omar so awesome?
I wonder that question myself every day. No really, I do. I've been trying to do this mental character study of him ever since I started watching, but he's just so awesome that it's nearly impossible to do him justice.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-12-14 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, sweetheart yes, I think there are at least four of us who watch it. Well, there's me and you and [livejournal.com profile] azewewish mentioned it above, but she's a season behind, and I know [livejournal.com profile] musesfool watches it, so yes, four. I digress, so yes, this season was easily my favorite since season one and really nothing could top season one with Avon and Stringer(oh, Idril Elba how I miss seeing your hotass every week), and honestly this last episode I had a moment of McNulty + Bodie = BFF and then they KILLED HIM! *sobs* The last of an era. That was just -- and oh, Randy, I was depressed about Randy. You try to do the right thing and you're just fucked, and Michael when you look at the whole season and how he started off with so much promise. *sigh*

Omar is so awesome there was an article on like ESPN about how much football (the American version) love him.

[identity profile] pixelarious.livejournal.com 2006-12-14 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Having not seen either the newest FNL or The Wire season finale, I do want to say that while I truly like FNL, The Wire owns me. You might even say pwns me. Every week (and I'm so sad it's done again already), I get so physically into the show- like when Michael makes a bad decision, I'm whimpering no! stop! Or when Lester is doing anything, I think yay! I cover my eyes, I cringe, I cheer, I cry, I do everything beginning with the letter c, apparently. Best show I've ever seen. Ever.

I wanted to say so when I commented about FNL, but I wasn't sure you watched that too. So *Wirehigh5*.
