I was going to post some blathering here about how I've evolved from a big fandom lover to a small fandom lover*, but the fact of the matter is that I don't even care about size of the fandom as long as the quality of the material is ace and other people see it too (and are thinking about writing it). Mostly I just want people to squee with, so.

The Wire people, did that season finale have you crawling behind the sofa too? How is Omar so awesome? How are Kima and Carver so hot? Did you vote for Carcetti for Mayor?

Ugly Betty viewers: Daniel and Sofia? Daniel & Betty? Betty & Henry? How fabulous is Justin? Makeover or keep it real?

Friday Night Lights lovers, is our show really the best show on the air right now or am I just hallucinating? Is Jason Street getting hotter from week to week? How badly is Smash screwing up?

Discuss.

*Size is relative to the number of people watching, squeeing, and churning out meta/fic/recs/etc, not the column inches of your dick or wank.

Ugly Betty has, oddly enough, come down to my love for the Terrible Twosome. And for Betty and Justin and the dad, of course, but I get the biggest kick out of Marc and Amanda.

I haven't watched this season of The Wire yet, but I'll be happy to squee with you over the first three seasons. I'm hoping to gorge on season four after Christmas.

However, I can 100% agree with you on Jason Street getting hotter every episode. He should be pissed off all the time - it's a good look for him. By which I totally mean, HOT.

Oh, you haven't seen it yet? I think this season was the best out of all of them. Well, except for season one, because season one was just like whoa. [waves hands vaguely]

As for FNL? Sweet baby Jesus, when Tim was in Jason's room and Jason was like 'I can't deal with you' I was all, 'noooooooooooooooooooooooo! but yes!'

Ugly Betty: Justin is everything I want in a little brother. Mostly because I need the fashion tips. And if they makeover Betty this season, it won't leave much for following seasons (which there had better be). Also, Betty cannot date Henry, because I need to. Badly.

*rereads this* Man, I'm a terribly selfish television viewer.

Totally one of best, yes, and very.

I also might be FIXATING on how hot Tim Riggins is in cheer drag.

The force is strong with that one.

When they did the powder puff thing I pretty much fell out of the chair laughing, and then Smash and Waverly (who he genuinely likes), and Jason and Lyla and Tim. Oh it's so deliciously wrong and messed up. I don't want to like Lyla! And yet, I mean, yeesh. FNL is totally not afraid to step up and show you how screwed you are as a teenager right now. Mostly I just want to pet Jason a lot and tell him he's very pretty when he's so angry. I can't write more FNL right now though, I just wrote three ficlets last week! *resists the draw of surly Jason*

Daniel and Amanda, actually. I like Amanda more and more every episode, and her unrequited love for Daniel (which she's totally in denial over) is so sad. I keep wanting to push Daniel at her. Betty/Henry works for me, though I could see Betty/Daniel - but only after a makeover.

I do feel bad for Amanda, and yet, I get a sort of schadenfreude glee because she's so mean to Betty. I think in season two Betty will fall for Daniel and then she'll get over it, and then in Season three (don't you like how I plan ahead), he'll fall and she'll be with someone else and then after that it's anybody's ball game.

FNL just keeps blowing my mind--and Street is right at the top of the list.

I love the couples that are developing, but the love story between Street and Riggins (as portrayed on the show) is truly the best I've seen in a long time. Long live bromance!

Definite Daniel & Betty, but way, way down the line.

Justin is SO FABULOUS! I want an entire episode of the gay mentor adventures of Justin and Marc!

And definite keeping it real, though she should have a temporary makeover one of these days.

And I'm all about the Betty/Henry in the interim.

Jason Street is totally getting hotter each episode. I did not expect that.

And Tim! Tim continues to win my heart a little more with each episode. I also did not expect that.

I'm waiting for it all to blow up in Smash's face. It will be so good.

Damn this show for making me kinda like Lyla. I still don't like the actress's line delivery, though.

In the beginning I didn't really get it. I mean Tim was the hot one in their relationship, he had the angst, and then Jason just -- flames. Flames of hotassery everywhere.

I am so afraid for Smash. Like a lot.

I don't want to like Lyla, but the girl, you know, proof positive that nobody has everything.

I wish UB wasn't on against The Office. But I read the recaps and I think I'll probably start downloading it when it starts up again. At which time I am sure I will struggle with choosing between Daniel and Henry. Woo!

Friday Night Lights FTW!

It's the best drama on tv by miles. AND it's got lots and lots of hot guys in it: I'm in love with Jason, Tim, Matt and Coach. Oh, and Coach's wife, Tami. Who is nine billion shades of awesome. I honestly can't think of a single way that it could be better, and I don't think I can say that about any other show I watch.

Re: Ugly Betty...

Betty/Henry: Like, duh. It's just something I know.

Walter/bus: The day his whining ends forever, rainbows will appear worldwide.

Hilda: *replaces her shampoo with Nair as retribution for not telling Betty about Henry's phone call*

Daniel/Amanda: Here's a pairing that smacked me out of the blue. Someone much wiser than I will have to explain to me how Amanda became sympathetic. Besides, Eric Mabius already said it was the death of the original (Colombian) show when Betty married her boss, so I think Daniel/Betty is off the table for now. (Thank god.)

Christina/dialogue: As in, it would be nice if she had some. And if she treated Betty consistently. In the pilot, she was super-nice, but ever since, she's been weird and curt. *is confused*

Justin: Could not be any more fabulous.

Wilhelmina: See entry for Justin.

Marc: Is totally awesome.

Makeover?: I kind of like Betty where she is now, with her sorta-controlled hair and less-schlumpy clothes, but not, y'know, FASHIONY. (It is *so* a word, shut up.) I like to see her resist how much she's going to be affected by working at a fashion magazine.

HAHAHAHA. That's her name in the clothing closet, Christina, for the life of me I couldn't remember. I dunno if she's being mean as much as, you know, she's just being busy. Wilhemina is awesome. I am bitter with Hilda about the Henry thing too though.

Last night my screen started sparking when he was in his bedroom and Tim was just lounging against the doorway. I bet there's a groove in the wood from Tim's hip. *blinks* Okay, so I might be a little manic about their angsty-love, but can you blame me? I mean all Tim did last night was try to make things right for Jason and all he did was fail. Of course he did sleep with his best friend's girlfriend, but that's only because he's got a major sekrit crush and he figured he'd never get Jason anyway. Lyla is Tim's proxy. Oh Jason, how can you not see it?!

Betty and Henry. SO SO SO FABULOUS. And absolutely, keep it real. I look around for UB fic sometime, and it really disappoints me that the majority of it seems to be Betty/Daniel, but to get him, she always has to become pretty.

I think she already is pretty. I suspect there'll be some moment where she transforms for Daniel, he misses it, she says screw it and goes back to herself and THEN he gets it. At least it would be cool if it went that way. Get on that, yeah.

Oh, Ugly Betty, how I love her and everyone else on that show. I think I would fiercely ship Betty/Daniel if I wasn't so busy shipping Betty/Henry. And yes, Justin is the LOVE.

I am 100% in favor of keeping it real, which doesn't mean that I'm opposed to Betty developing her own style, which I think is a natural process for any young person making their way in the world for the first time. But I'd hate to see her get a makeover that is forced on to her in any way, and I'd hate to see her lose her personal simplicity.

On an additional note, I am truly thrilled that the writers have made me really love everyone, even characters I hated in the beginning.

Other people watch The Wire! OMG. But yeah, I would've been behind the sofa if I hadn't been watching it on my computer. Randy and Dukie and Michael all broke my heart, but I was gleeful that Namond got adopted. Bodie made me cry, because out of nowhere I started to love him.

How is Omar so awesome?
I wonder that question myself every day. No really, I do. I've been trying to do this mental character study of him ever since I started watching, but he's just so awesome that it's nearly impossible to do him justice.

Oh, sweetheart yes, I think there are at least four of us who watch it. Well, there's me and you and [livejournal.com profile] azewewish mentioned it above, but she's a season behind, and I know [livejournal.com profile] musesfool watches it, so yes, four. I digress, so yes, this season was easily my favorite since season one and really nothing could top season one with Avon and Stringer(oh, Idril Elba how I miss seeing your hotass every week), and honestly this last episode I had a moment of McNulty + Bodie = BFF and then they KILLED HIM! *sobs* The last of an era. That was just -- and oh, Randy, I was depressed about Randy. You try to do the right thing and you're just fucked, and Michael when you look at the whole season and how he started off with so much promise. *sigh*

Omar is so awesome there was an article on like ESPN about how much football (the American version) love him.

Having not seen either the newest FNL or The Wire season finale, I do want to say that while I truly like FNL, The Wire owns me. You might even say pwns me. Every week (and I'm so sad it's done again already), I get so physically into the show- like when Michael makes a bad decision, I'm whimpering no! stop! Or when Lester is doing anything, I think yay! I cover my eyes, I cringe, I cheer, I cry, I do everything beginning with the letter c, apparently. Best show I've ever seen. Ever.

I wanted to say so when I commented about FNL, but I wasn't sure you watched that too. So *Wirehigh5*.

There is nothing pretty or shiny about The Wire (although there is some hotass), it's brutal and hard all the time.

Ugly Betty rules beyond the telling of it. It's weird, because I DID write that Betty/Daniel fic, but recently, it feels like they've been toning down any hints of shippiness, so that when I look at them now I mostly see a platonic relationship. WOE.

But that doesn't even matter, because Henry/Betty rocks so hard. Actually, EVERYTHING rocks so hard. If someone could explain to me why the heck her family is so Team Walter, I would really appreciate it. Bah.

But there is so much love for this show. SO MUCH LOVE.
