Maybe you can't buy love, but you can certainly buy enough stuff to make you delusional for a while.

Okay, flist, here's your chance to shine. If a girl was going to Lush for the very first time ever and just wanted to buy things to make herself happy, what should she get and why? C'mon. Impress me with your vast knowledge.

ETA: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!! I bought, err, like, everything. I got two bath something or others, not the balls, they're big dissolve things (checks catalogue) bubble bars called The Comforter and Karma (yes, y'all are big on Karma). I got a Big Blue (It has seaweed! I'm trusting you here [livejournal.com profile] thepouncer). I also got the Extra Virgin Olive Oil soap, Coalface and Demon in the Dark (yes, on your suggestion S), oh and some Nude soap. And then, because I spent so much they gave me a big ass bag of leftover stuff from the holidays which weighed more than what I bought. AWESOME! Thank you guys. *hugs flist*

I did not see the Skin Sin handcream, but now I have a note for next time :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
I bought the Big Blue on you suggestion and because the website said it had seaweed. I am v excited to try it out.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
I swear I shopped like the store was going to disappear on me. I bought the Coalface, and the Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and a Big Blue bathbom, and Comforter and Karma Bubble bombs, and I was going to try one of the shower jellies, but it was slimy and cold and I was like, err, no. Thank you for all the awesome recommendations.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
I took your advice on the hair care products since I am notoriously picky about my hair. I bought a big blue bomb and some bubble bombs and soaps, but they dissolve so fast! *grumbles*

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
There is so much I want to try there but it's expensive and the stuff is so natural that you have to use it up fast so it doesn't go bad.

No shit dude! I used an entire bar of soap and half a bubble bar already! I have taken notes of what you like for next time, I am just really picky about anything I put on my face.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
I bought just one bath bomb, but I also happened to buy so much stuff that they gave me a big ass bag of bath bombs from the holidays for free.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't gotten to the face products yet, because I am very particular about what I put on my face, but if I like the other stuff I bought then we will see. Tell me more about the Dream Cream, is it a bath item or a lotion?

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if you could've gotten to me before I left my purchases might've been a little different, because I only bought one bomb -- the big blue, it has seaweed and makes it look like an OCEAN!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I see you are all very big on Karma so I made sure to get something (the bubble bar) that had that scent. I also got lots of bath bombs, because I can go for any excuse to take a bath and coloured water is totally a good reason. I also got some of the Demon in the Dark soap too, but just a small bit to try. I didn't get a massage bar though b/c you said they were crappy. Never think that I don't listen to you guys, b/c I do!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
I bought just one bath bomb, a big blue one, but because I bought so much other stuff they gave me an enormous bag of stuff left over from the holidays, which actually weighed more than the stuff I bought. There were five or six bath balls -- one had confetti! -- and a green snow angel, so I'm very excited about them.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Stop that. I see you trying to make him endearing, with his floppy hair and all. I should tell you that I bought a small piece of Demon on the Dark purely on your say so.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't see that this time (it was a rather fast trip) but I will be on the look out the next time, thank you :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
I made sure to get something that was Karma because you are all very big on it. I hope I like it or you're all fired ;)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
I got a large hunk of the olive oil soap, because everyone seemed to like it.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
I got a bath bomb (big blue) , and three kids of soap (coalface, extra virgin olive oil, demon in the dark -- no wait, four ((naked) I couldn't help it), and some bubble bars (Comforter and Karma) and I was going to get a jelly, but it was *slimy*. But because I bought so much stuff they gave me a bag full of holiday stuff too. It was grand! It weighs more than the other stuff I bought combined!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't know how much of the bubble bar to use, but they were huge so I cracked it in half. I got some bar soap, because I like it, but I see there are lots of other things to try too. I only bought one bath bomb, but they gave me like five or six for free.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
First, understand that Lush is an evil, evil place that drains your money just by setting foot in the store.

No joke. Wow. Crap I knew there was something I was going to forget -- I'd really wanted to try the Buffy the backslide slayer b/c you guys spoke so highly of it -- next time. Definitely next time. I went kind of crazy in the soap area -- extra virgin olive oil, coalface, nude and demon in the dark. I'd meant to get the amandapondo, but wound up with karma instead. Next time though, thanks for your help.

I reorganized my entire bathroom a month or so ago to accommodate a giant order of bath bombs and bubble bars that I had shipped to me. A huge part of it was getting them confined so the scent wouldn't leak out and bedevil me. But one on a time they are marvelous. I hope you enjoy Big Blue!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
I made sure to got a big chunk of the olive oil soap because you all seem very pro-product. Also, I will make a note to myself to get the Dream Cream because you are the second person to say it's really good for dry skin and the winter is killing me. I Same with the buffy bar, I had a note to myself to get it, but of course it was on the other side of the piece of paper I was holding. Typical. Thank you so much for all the recommendations, I really appreciate it.

[identity profile] antheia.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't worry - there's no such thing as ordering the wrong thing from Lush (well, that's not true - you will find that there are some that aren't quite you). An ocean in your bathtub is awesome.

Watch out for sharks.

YAY I DUN GOOD!

I got a bubble bar for my roommate and she still hasn't used it (*grumble*) so I can't even say how well they work. Although at our local store you can try them out (they have a sink and stuff) so I suppose if I really wanted to know...

Karma is a very popular scent, chances are you'll probably really like using it. Also, I hope the Demon in the Dark soap doesn't give you too much trouble - the wax problem might have something to do with the scalding hot showers my roommate likes and it literally melting into the soap. You should watch out for melting on all of your products, though - my Karma soap bar melts a little every time she showers. D:

If you had someone to massage you the massage bars might be useful, but you don't need to use a whole lot of it in one sitting (your own hands, shoulders, the stuff you can do yourself) so I don't see the point in buying a whooooole bar and never finishing it. If you've got someone around that can be 'hands on', though, they might be more handy. Pun totally intended. :D (also, for the casual massager, I think there are cheaper options)

I am more a bath salts gal than bubbles

[identity profile] raveninthewind.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
I normally use less than half the bubble bar, depending on how full the tub is. I just add it as it fills, until I think it's bubbly enough. One bar I bought was very hard, so I used a fork to scrape bits off.

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Is this why you called me? I am the THE Lush expert, bitch.

[identity profile] raveninthewind.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
I hope you enjoy the rest of the items you got. I've dumped outrageous amounts of money at Lush, even factoring in the fact that I get gifts for people at the same time that I indulge myself. I think my current record is around $140 at once. :O

But then they gave me a huge pile of freebies, so it was great. :D

I pretty much use it as my "I had a shitty day so I am treating myself and having a hot bath later" store.

[identity profile] corinna-5.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
It's a body lotion, good for dry or sensitive skin, both of which I have. Absorbs well, and scented of lavender and rose and something a little earthier. I love the scent, personally.
