(no subject)

This week sucks. I thought I could come up with something clever (sucks like a $2 hooker! TM[livejournal.com profile] antheia) or catchy (if it sucks, it must be a day ending in 'Y'!) or suitably cutting (sucks like your mom!) to describe how hard it sucks, but nope, don't even have that. That is how hard this week sucks.

And now this:

Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams will star in The Time Traveler's Wife, the Robert Schwentke-directed adaptation of the bestselling Audrey Niffenegger novel.

Shooting's set to start in August.

Bana will play a Chicago librarian with a genetic disorder that causes him to time-travel when he is under duress. Though his disorder causes him to vanish for long periods, he tries to build a life with the woman he loves. She's a young heiress struggling with the arrangement.

I love Rachel. If I were into girls, I would totally hit that, but Eric Bana? As HENRY? Henry is lithe. Henry is a little punky. Eric Bana is the fucking Hulk (horrible movie, but the idea sticks). Couldn't you get a real actor like Ed Norton (even though, he's apparently playing the Hulk now)? Or a real Henry, like, like somebody else? How about Matthew Goode? He's hot. He can be an asshole too. And he and Rachel McAdams would set the screen on fire. And Clare isn't an heiress! WTF, people?! I must go cry now -- or something suitably [livejournal.com profile] hackthis as I don't cry.

I know. Please go convince [livejournal.com profile] scribblinlenore she has to write Nathan/Peter under the title SEX BOMB!

Do it for me the children the porn ME. Please?!!!

My friend Wendy's been trying to get me to read it. This is the one where the dude keeps popping in & out of time, right?

Yes, but it's not about that. Really. I'd hesitated forever, because I had it continually talked up to me, and you know when there's that much hype it's never good -- but I zipped through it in a way I haven't in years, because, to me, it was just that compelling. Some people love it passionately -- I sent it off to a couple of my friends because I had to share and they loved it. Other people, you know, they don't -- but to me, it's a story, an absolutely beautiful story, and you don't get many of those in books anymore, you know?

Okay, you sold me. As soon as I'm done getting my heart ripped out by Cormac McCarthy (which has taken me forever to pick up & I adore his books & have gotten so many of my friends hooked on him), I'll give it a whirl.
