Wow. You guys are not unlike the most awesome flist ever. Actually, not 'unlike' just are -- you are all made of awesome. Thank you so much for coming to my aid. I do have to ask though a) how do I unlock .rar files and b) what the shit is wrong with megaupload that it keeps saying I've hit my download limit when I can't even get the files from their server? Fuck them! Ahem. Carrying on. I have compiled a loose list of some singles that I know have been erased, so you know, if you see something under the cut that you know you have, hook a sister up. In short, pretty much any 80s & 90s R&B, crappy rock and/or pop are
welcome around here. Ooh! And old skool rap. I miss my old skool rap. Oh, and political anti-war songs.

ETA: Megaupload has decided that I can't download anything from it, I hate to ask this, but if you used megaupload, would you consider reuploading on mediafire or box.net instead?

Also, before I forget, tomorow, 13th September, there will be a Burn Notice marathon on USA. It starts at 9am, so get your TiVos or DVRs or VCRs or like me hook up your camcorder (just kidding) and get yourself sorted out. Everyone who didn't want to just jump in but was curious, this is your chance!

Classical baby. I want 'You Can Fly' and 'Everybody Wants to be a Cat' -- oh and April Showers from Bambi, because Bambi scarred the crap out of me, but I loved that song.

Also, as a good Christian allow me to tell you that the Dreidel song was one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs. Really. I wanted to know why I couldn't have dreidels too. And latkes. And seven days of presents yo! I listen to my Christmas songs year long, but were only six of them in my collection and they tended to be tunes like 'Back Door Santa' by Jet, which you know, not really about the baby Jesus.

Oh definitely, Z. It's not a big amount or anything, but it was a freebie to us, and I see no reason why it should continue to sit on my desk, gathering dust and cat fur... *g*

Club Noveau 'Lean on Me' (http://www.mediafire.com/?0osnh3xzw0z) (Note: the tag on this might say it's by The Temptations, because it was a second-hand acquisition and the person was clearly a doofus. I assure you, it's the Club Nouveau version.)
The Jets 'Crush on You' (http://www.mediafire.com/?asm29bcngxn)
Laura Brannigan 'Gloria' (http://www.mediafire.com/?9hdsk82tykj)

April Showers! Back in the '70s I had a Disney record with that on it, and I haven't heard it since.

I don't have anything that's on your list, but here's a small contribution of random stuff. do you need any billy idol, queen, tracey chapman, or the Garden State soundtrack? I have some other songs you might like but I have to figure out how to change them from being in m4p format.

I'll take that as a yes then? :-)

For some reason unbeknowst to me mediafire refuses to let me have 'Crush on You', 'Gloria' and Roseanna. Would you be able to upload them somewhere else. Anywhere else? Thank you for 'Lean on Me' and 'Sussudio' BTW!'

[identity profile] sparky77.livejournal.com 2007-09-13 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I had written and then erased for some reason: Of course, all my Christian friends know more verses of the dreidal song than me, so I guess it evens out.

The dreidal songs kind of awesome and one of my few special skills is that I can make a dreidal spin upside down. But as awesome as Hanukah songs are, Purim songs are even better. There's one, that for some unknown reason, is sung in this random Caribbean style and talks about the big boss man from Shoshoshan (which is not the right name for the city, but it's close) and still to this day, I randomly start singing it and laughing.

I want to know this song. Do not tease me in this fashion unless your surname is Petrelli.
