All praises to the Lords of Yuletide and 2008!
See that icon in this post? That's going to be me in a couple of hours. God willing, which I think he is, because 2007 was ass and so 2008 will rock.
Now, before I forget, I want to wish a Buon Natale to
circe_tigana and also to 2008. Yes, I am ready for next year now. Hell, I was ready in January. To everyone else, I hope you have a fabulous and safe New Year's Eve and that 2008 gives you all your heart desires (in the best possible way).
The Bourne Trilogy
Three Dead Men and the Women Who Did Not Mourn Them -- I was just re-watching the Bourne series this past week, because Matt Damon is hotass and Ari agrees, and it struck me that what the world really needed was to have some Nicky Parsons/Jason Bourne fiction and then I got home and lo there is was! *wishes really hard for her own James McAvoy*
Burn Notice
International Man of Mystery -- Oh, our most beloved Michael Westen. Where for art thou, most awesome one? AMPTP stop being fucktards! Filming for S2 is supposed to start in January and you are fucking it up!
Live To Tell -- I'll tell you guys what I told the author: Tackling the yuletide archive is always a tricky business and when I saw this story I decided to put it away to read later, because after I reading the opening paragraph I realized two things 1) the story was awesome and 2) it was going to depress me like hell. Having read it I can definitely attest to both of these things. A brilliant, thoughtful character study. Go read it. And then read something happy. Like Psych fic!
Dead Poets Society
The Thorny Edge of Evening -- I think Neil/Todd was my very first slash pairing, and I didn't even know what slash *was*. I was only 12 at the time, but I just *knew* they belonged together. Which is obviously why I stole the screenplay from the library and read it fifty times thinking some how the ending would change. It didn't, but it should have. Maybe I should write that.
Friday Night Lights
Sun of a New Season -- Growing up is never what we think it will be. A lovely, heart-breaking look at mother-daughter relationships and all the love and misunderstandings and heartbreak that come with them. I love you, Mrs Coach, but your show sucked this season.
Fairy Tales
The Man in the Mirror -- Another look at Beauty and the Beast and why I'm a firm believer that there's no such thing as a happy ending. Beautifully ilustrated.
Gossip Girl
The Kind of Christmas That Doesn't End in 'Party' -- If you had ever told me that I'd be loving Serena/Blair I'd've laughed you right out into oncoming traffic, but this was lovely and so fabulous and so true. Blair and Serena love each other more than they'll ever love any man.
Hairspray
(And My Heart's) Keeping Time -- This is Maybelle/Corny. Yes, that would be Queen Latifah/James Marsden and let me tell you, it has made my life a better place or as I gleefully babbled to the author, 'It's amazing how you can not know what's been missing until someone writes it and all you can think is, "OMG! THIS ROCKS! Why isn't everybody writing this?!" Brilliant.'
Leon AKA The Professional
Rite of Passage -- Leon was the first film I saw where I thought "That's what I want to do when I get older!" -- the for-hire part, not the making movies part -- and uh, yeah, much hasn't changed since then. I'm still trying to get paid to shoot people and blow things up, but until then at least I have movies like this one. And Wanted. And Ocean's 11.
Life
Fairy Tale of L.A. -- This is a wee yuletide treat that, to me, perfectly sums up the show and why Charlie Crews is one of my favorite characters on TV right now.
Nip/Tuck
And All The Roads. -- I said before that I don't believe in happy endings, but if I did, then I think they should go like this. Especially for Christian and Sean.
Ocean's 11
Boy Wonder -- Danny is Bruce, Rusty is Dick and Linus is Tim Drake. For reals.
Imagine The Odds -- Danny and Rusty are sleeping together. It's shocking I tell you. Shocking.
Psych
Two Plus Roo -- This story was written for me. I'm not even going to pretend not to be stupidly biased, because, it's Shawn and Gus babysitting Captain Vick's baby and who doesn't love baby fic? Seriously. I'd give George a baby in a heartbeat if I didn't think he'd drop it off on Brad's doorstep! I digress. This story is make of awesome dirty diapers and puree pineapple and all the quirks and happy things that make Psych such a fun show to watch. You rock, Yuletide Santa!
Christmas Fruitcakes (a Yuletide Treat) -- I got not one but TWO stories this year, because my yuletide santa is more awesome than yours! HAHAHAHAHA bitches!
Signs Point To -- Shawn is gay. He's just the last one to know it. It's a good thing he has Gus.
Pushing Daisies
Stones Sink So Gracefully -- I have a confession to make: I'm not a big Pushing Daisies fan. I mean I love the show; I love the quirkiness. Lee Pace is hot. Chi McBride is awesome and Kristen Chenoweth is adorable, but I'm not a Chuck/Ned fan at all and since that's a big part of the show, yeah, I don't really watch it. But. But I adore Ned/Olive, because, well, Olive is awesome and this story is about her being awesome and unrequited love and how much it sucks. Because it does suck. A lot. Don't do it. Don't waste your heart.
Singing in the Rain
Lina Lamont's Big Revenge -- If you love Singing in the Rain you have to read this, just fucking trust me. You can thank me after you're done slobbering all over the author.
Ugly Betty
Setting the Record Straight -- Marc, Cliff, Justin and why you should always be true to yourself. I laughed, I cackled, I sniffed. Read it.
Now, before I forget, I want to wish a Buon Natale to

This fic is perfect! Thank you for the rec, person whose journal I am posting on. Hi! *waves* I think your crazy love of Adrian Pasdar might convince me to watch Heroes from the beginning. :O)
Yay for Ned/Olive. I love Ned/Chuck on the show, but as a fanficcer I love the dynamics of Ned/Olive. I gasped and cheered when she kissed him on the show.
