Plz to halp?

Dear Most Wise Flist:

Have you ever read a story that was so well realized, so heart-breaking and sigh-inducing that you said, GODDAMNIT! WHY CAN'T I WRITE LIKE THAT? CURSES! Well, it's been a long time since I've come across a story like that, but yesterday I came upon [livejournal.com profile] green_postit's Chuck/Bryce story every home was like alcatraz and had one of those moments.

Even if you've never seen Chuck a day in your life, I would recommend this story. It's hot and sexy and sad, and just, oh, Bryce. BRING BACK BRYCE!

I've thusly had to put down my Chuck and Bryce dolls for a hot minute, which leaves me in a bit of a quandry as now I don't know what to write for this picture

So, now I come to you for your suggestions, you've seen the art, now tell me what you think the story is, and you know, maybe I'll write it. If that sort of thing interests you ;-)

First, I'll totally second that rec, because that story is AWESOME.

Hmm. That pic is clearly Bryce and Chuck (got them on the brain now) hugging after being held captive in New York on a dangerous mission for an entire night and having to hash out all their issues--meanwhile catching up on all the Sci-Fi channel geeking they could have done and Chuck catching Bryce up on the latest developments on Battlestar Galactica.

And at the very end, when they've busted loose by themselves and gotten to safety, Bryce will admit in a low voice how much he missed Chuck, and Chuck will look at him and silently pull him into one of those big hugs that Bryce always loved getting from him.

Ohhhhhhhhhh. I like that story. I can do that. It was clear that it was them being reunited and declaring their undying devotion (what?) and then, um, I don't remember what I was saying.

I WANT MORE BRYCE!

Dude, I am RIGHT THERE WITH YOU. You just know that Bryce is going to hear about this plan to have Chuck locked away and bust in there and kick fifteen different kinds of ass and glare at Casey (who'll be glaring right back) and gaze lovingly at Chuck while speaking Klingon. I swear if I don't see this on my screen next season, I will cry.

Okaaay. I should possibly see about catching that show.

Oh, Zach.

Clearly this is both the beginning and end of the story--once they hug because they're going to be separated because Chuck is about to do something stupid and self-sacrificial that he hasn't told Chuck about but Bryce knows anyway because, duh, he's Bryce and he's present and sort of saves Chuck from whatever dangerous/stupid/brave thing he was going to do (although really Chuck saves them in some roundabout way) and then they hug because they're SO GLAD to see each other and then they go fuck and there's action and something blows up.

OR

Obviously this is after a long time of being apart. Chuck's, you know, pretty valuable and locked away in secret until the day he's finally NOT because it's all over--they got it out even and he's relieved because he thinks maybe a lot of people died because of him but a little at loss at what to do. Bryce--well he got hurt a while, the kind of bad wound that stops you from leaping tall buildings and drop kicking terrorists--and now they're both kind of floundering and lost and trying to figure out what's missing. They have coffee and it's sort of awkward but then, at the end, the look at each other and it's like, "duh!" because they're each so happy that the other had made it through the years alive and they never expected to still be around and it's snowing and cold and when they hug Bryce spills his coffee all over Chuck's coat and it's hot but Chuck doesn't let go even despite the discomfort because they've finally fucking got it together. Possibly Chuck gets a tear in his eye but it's just the burning coffee, man. It hurts like a motherfucker.

That was so long.

I had that at a concert I went to once. I got to the end and was all "Goddamnit, why don't I get to be the one on-stage?"
I think it's a reunion - chance meeting after a long separation
