Flist, I have a confession to make.

So, I've been having these Harry Potter fandom, err, shall we say thoughts? At first they were just vague thoughts. Theodore & Blaise mostly since all my Slytherins have had a massive series except for a story that has that pairing, but then my brain thought that that meant the end of Neville & Theodore, which made me distressed and so I had to shelve that idea.

And then today [livejournal.com profile] circe_tigana announced that she thought that James McAvoy *observe a moment for the hotass* would be an amazing Harry, and we all know I cannae stand Harry, but for James, concessions can be made.

And then I started thinking, well, does that pair Harry with Neville (now that a) Matthew Lewis is dead hot and b) it turns out that Tommy Brockless from TW is Matthew's big brother, Tony, and can be a suitable mental placement) and if not, then who? I can't really use Prince Harry (Ron) as that's just too much time in Gryffindor tower, and Draco. Well, just no.

And my head said: ED WESTWICK. Yes, from Gossip Girl. He fits the only requirement of the actor actually being British, and if he can wear this and make it look good, well, then I can easily see him naked. The only quandry being, who is he?

What character? I need a name to build a characterization. He's clearly in my house, but WHO in my house. And if he's not in Slytherin, then where? And who. Yeah, the who is the real corker, as these things happen when I've already got virtually every one else cast in my head. Got suggestions? Got plot ideas? Come talk to me.

On the other hand, if there mere thought of HP freaks you out, I wrote Chuck yesterday, Truth, Justice and that Other Stuff, which is Chuck/Bryce.

I love your Chuck/Bryce stuff. Hot geekiness has never been so... well... hot.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I love Bryce. I want one of my own.

[identity profile] vertrauen.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Ravenclaw, perhaps? Although I haven't been in HP fandom in years, so I don't know if there are any standout Ravenclaws that fit the bill.

I seem to be trolling through the Slytherin Quidditch players at the moment.

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I've always wanted someone to do a complete revisionist history of Marcus Flint. Teeth can be fixed and we have very little else to go on.

Quidditch hotass. Born leader. Older man.

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
The actual burning question for me is, who does Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys play?

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
See, this is why (as below) Ed Westwick should play Ed Westwick. It's been a while since we had a RPS/HP blow out in these parts.

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Since Jarvis Cocker clearly teaches music at Hogwarts, I don't see why not.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, please do not be sullying my LJ with talk of that travesty of noise.

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
seriously, really? you don't like favourite worst nightmare? i've had that album on repeat for months! really?

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2008-04-03 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
hmmmmmmmmmmm. intriguing.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, apart from the most unfortunate teeth and JKR doing her revisionist thing about how he suddenly failed a year (whatevs) this Flint thing really does have some leverage. It's clear that Flint had a thing with Oliver Wood that ended with Wood broken hearted and going off to play for whomever. And the flattened nose could easily be attributed to one too many Quidditch accidents. Same with the improved teeth. Except for the fact that I think Flint is a troglodyte.

Yeah, back to the roundtable.

[identity profile] hey-mockingbird.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I was also thinking Ravenclaw, but the only big Ravenclaw I can think of is Roger Davies, and Westwick is TOO HOT, I SAY to play Davies, who I have always thought of as a bit of a pansy. And Westwick is also a bit too hot to be in HUfflepuff, but he could be a Diggory....Or Anthony Goldstein...or Terry Boot....or Michael Corner.

Someone smart and hot?

Also, please to be ignoring the ramblyness of this. I am very ill and do not have control over what I write.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
You're the second person to mention Michael Corner, but maybe I will try Terry Boot. I've always wondered about Mr Boot. Feel better!

[identity profile] mahaliem.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
My first thought was Michael Corner. But I have no idea why my mind picked that character because I have never harbored any particular interest in him.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Michael Corner? Hmmm. I will ponder (http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Michael_Corner).

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Why isn't he just Ed Westwick, rocker, actor, and Slytherin prodigal? Come the hell on. His band amuses the shit out of me!

Oh, look, Joe Purdy just came on the iPod. It's that kinda day--sunshine, rabbits eating carrots in the corner, supper with the folks, you know.

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Also, don't taunt me with my pairing and pull the rug out from under me unless you want me to send Draco drunk around your way.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
A drunk Draco wouldn't know what to do me if I gave him a fucking map and a GPS. Although all your whooping and hollering is making me think that maybe Ed can be one of the next generation Slytherins. Maybe Scorpius. And then he can hook up with one of the Potter riff-raff. No, actually that's just appalling.

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow you even went there in your head?

The name Scorpius is so appalling I can't cope. It's her worst name by far. It's also a really gross dude from Farscape. It really doesn't work for me.

I do want the Blaise/Teddy, natch.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I think JKR just needs to write 100 times with Umbridge's quill 'I hate Slytherins and refuse to accept that they could be real human beings with real diversity of emotion and personality' because that's what she's saying and she should stop faking otherwise. That name is appalling. I think about Blaise and Theodore from time to time but am not really inclined to put out as much effort as that would require.

[identity profile] ethrosdemon.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, apathy's a bitch.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Ed doesn't really interest me. He looks good in outrageous clothing, that's about it. When I find something suitable I will make plans.
