I'm intrigued too and I think I'd like to try it out (but not to move away from here, IYKWIM), largely because I suspect most of my flist will stay here and not bother cross-pollinating.

And I am wondering what exactly is up with it.

But I'm thinking it could be nice to have some kind of refuge...

I know not this IYKWIM, but I think I will just wait and see what happens. I'm vaguely curious, like when you kick at a rock in the street. Some of my flist is very pro-Dreamwidth, but others are like, dude, been there before, not going when you cry wolf. I've had other things and never used them, so at this point I'm like, 'we'll see.'

I don't feel like a refugee to be honest. LJ is a service, Dreamwidth'll be a service.

I'm intrigued by Dreamwidth. It sounds like it has lots of fun features, but I also enjoy LJ for its use by non-fen (ie ohnotheydidnt—I know it's awful but I can't help myself, and craft/arts comms) and I'd be really reluctant to elave that. I didn't get an IJ or whatever during the last big uproar (or maybe I did?) so I doubt I'd be willing to leave.

I wish I could fangirl on the mid-season replacements but my television suffered a minor internal explosion (dude, there was smoke. and sparks) and I can't afford to replace it so I'm just watching what I can on shoddy stolen internet.

Well what I meant is - I'm not really ready to flee now, and frankly my inertia factor is likely to keep me here for as long as most of my mates are here; but it does sound like a pretty decent set up, from what I can see (and certainly particularly keen to encourage cross posting, and access to and from LJ).

That's why I'm not bothering with it. Every few months, it seems like some new service pops up, everyone joins but stays at lj. Unless DW becomes the sole home of the majority of my flist, I'm staying right where I am.

Using a LoM icon seems to be the thing to do on this entry. Plus I have no Southland or Kings icons. (Which really needs to be rectified.)

One thing I like about Dreamwidth (past all the other nifty features) is that it will allow for easy cross-posting, which is why I'll probably get that and keep my LJ. Why yes, I do like to have my cake and eat it, too. *g*
