I heard there was this movie that fans were raving about.

I used to be able to drink bottles of champagne and not feel a thing, now I have, like, just ONE THREE glasses and it's all 'woe! hangover.' That's bullshit. You know what's not bullshit though?

a) SOUTHLAND. It would seem there are a lot more of you watching it than I thought there were. That's nice. Embrace the Cooper!

b) Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day to all the awesome moms out there, because moms are truly the cornerstones of everything awesome in the world. I mean, they pushed your ass out, didn't they? Man, if moms ever decided to take over, everything would get sorted out with a glare and a 'don't make me tell you twice.'

c)

a) BRING ME THE SPOCK/UHURA RIGHT NOW. I WANTS IT AND I WANTS IT ALL. I probably won't be writing it, but I desperately want to read it. I did not see that one coming and was promptly like, 'wot, now?' when she was like 'This is bullshit, put me on the Enterprise' but then when he was all upset about his mom and she went after him? GAHHHHHH! SOLD THAT FUCKER LIKE THEIR LIVES DEPENDED ON IT. Het with smart, hot people. I am all about. Bring it to me now.

b) Chris Pine. I knew watching you in all those crap movies I will totally not admit to watching was worth it. For real. I'd hit that so hard you'd have to refurnish your house.

c) John motherfucking Cho. Everybody else was awesome. I am all about the McCoy/Kirk or even the McCoy/Spock FYI, but nobody made me as happy as John motherfucking Cho. Did you take off the parking break? HE HAD A GODDAMN SWORD! Somebody PLEASE make me icons with Sulu and his sword. It's a fucking SWORD!. How badass is that? Asians represent! (Yes, we PoC's gotta stick together).

d) Who knew that 'Live Long and Prosper' could also be interpreted as 'Fuck you!' That was... Zachary Fucking Quinto, you sold that shit so hard I'd buy a house from you right now.

e) Anton Yelchin, you are so adorable. I think you're pulling a Ben McKenzie and getting younger as you get older. Wicter! Wicter!

f) Karl Urban, I did not see your awesome coming, but when you were all 'we got divorced, she got the planet' my mouth fell open a little at the wicked delivery. So, um, was Bones rich in a past life? No, the wife was. I am curious how that meeting at the lawyer's went. "She gets the planet, you get... 5 minutes to leave the planet."

g) This movie was way way funnier than I ever thought it would be, and for that, JJ Abrams, you get props. I know I've talked shit about your overhypedness in the past, but you know, today I feel like it might not all be smoke up my ass.

h) BRING ME YOUR SPOCK/UHURA RIGHT THE FUCK NOW. PLZ.

In conclusion: John Cho. Where is the community for fic based on the movie? I must haz it NOW.

ETA: Sorry about that cut-tag fuck up, hangovers make me a bit challenged.

Duly noted!

There's a comm for a newsletter, but there WAS no newsletter in it. Was tres confusing I'll tell you now. I tend not to gear towards them, but for this I could totally use one.

Also, t'anks.

JOHN CHO WITH A SWORD BITCHES!!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-05-10 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
word. just, yes, WORD.

That was about a billion times more awesome than I ever thought it would be.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-05-10 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Which is my long way of saying, I think I ship about 15 various parings.

WORD.

JOHN CHO HAD A SWORD!!

(Stuck on repeat, what?)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-05-10 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Karl Urban, I love him so much. He played the token gay character on the TV soaps I grew up watching. I blame him for getting me into slash *g*

Did he now? Tell me more.

And they totally hit me out of left field with the Uhura thing, and then to see them together. Him all reserved and her all hot and in charge? I mean DOG.

In conclusion: way better than I thought it was going to be.

My sentiments times infinity.

Kick some ass. For reals.

Also, Bones was made of win, and I loved, loved, LOVED when John Cho said that his fight combat training and then PULLED OUT a FUCKING SWORD!! \0/ Icon is needed!

What kind of training?
Fencing.
.... FENCING?!

Fencing is with an epee. That was a motherfucking SWORD!!

All Southland love is welcome around these parts. Bashing, unless it's Tammy or Russell related, not so much so, no. But love? Absolutely. Welcome to the party. Cookie?

Re: a) and h)- If I may, I'd like to recommend [livejournal.com profile] mekosuchinae as a possible author to read for this pairing. She's been a bit of a writing machine since the movie came out and all of her stories are just absolutely wonderful.

Happy reading :)d

YOU ARE NOT EVEN PLAYING, DUDE.

Yes.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-05-10 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
It was about a thousand times better and funnier than I ever thought it was going to be. Also, I just got my tickets for Terminator. Hurray for assigned seating, dog.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-05-10 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
After he said that I was just like, 'wow, it really is all about delivery. he should give lessons.'

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-05-10 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Hooray for recommendations!

[identity profile] antheia.livejournal.com 2009-05-10 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! I usually hate assigned seating in movie theaters, but I think given the givens, for you this is a blessing.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-05-10 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
No lie.

[identity profile] skyenapped.livejournal.com 2009-05-10 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, don't get me started on Tammy! lol.

Also, I just realized I momentarily forgot out to spell Southland up there *facepalm*

[identity profile] unlickdbearwhlp.livejournal.com 2009-05-11 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
a) Oh, noez. I was hoping you'd be on board with this ship, but... you won't be writing it. *tear* If anyone can capture Spock's voice, it's you. You got it like that.

I'm excited for the love they're getting, anyway. Yay!

It was on this medical soap, Shortland Street. Karl was on it when I was about ten, as one of the paramedics, and there was this whole arc where he started dating this guy who'd previously been a real player with the ladies. IIRC they ran off into the sunset overseas together.

Chris Pine! Mmmmmmmm he's too fine for words.

I enjoy this flailing about Southland as well as the flailing we can now do about Spock/Uhura. :)

In case you haven't seen this one yet: your requested pairing with extra delicious voyeurism thrown in. (Uh, not mine - I can't produce this level of hotness without a blowtorch, alas.)
