Are we there yet? Why the fuck not?

1. NCIS people, new rule. If it's written by [livejournal.com profile] spoonyriffic? READ IT. What she's doing is what I *thought* Gibbs/DiNozzo was supposed to be, snarky and fun and hot. What the hell is up with all the angst and woe and leather chains and fic where Tony's balls are mysteriously missing? Are y'all watching the same show I am?

2. The Hurt Locker. War movie with Jeremy Renner (Walsh from the Unusuals, bitches!) and Guy Pearce! Or as one commenter put it It's basically "Generation Kill", just with different characters and not enough time to develop all the characters. I needs to be seeing this I think.

3. Is anybody else having one of those days too? You know the kind where you wouldn't piss on somebody even if they were on fire? EXACTLY.

4. I like Green Day. I dunno if I've ever mentioned this to you lot, but I do. I have them on my iPod under 'Baby Clash' - yes I have a genre called Baby Clash, because everybody wants to be The Clash, but nobody really is. I was thinking about my Green Day like the other day because Stephen had them on The Report and they were doing 'Know Your Enemy' and it wasn't half bad. I wouldn't pay to see them, but I do not object. And believe me I object to a lot.

Wait, I have to finish this with something happy. Oooh, better yet, [livejournal.com profile] sparky77 had this thing where she asked people to mention a fandom and she'd give three unpopular opinions about it. I'll take the one and tweak it a little. Give me a character or a fandom you've seen me write and I'll give you at least three facts about him/her/it.

YES. Certain people in particular. See my latest post for why!

Huh. Also directed by a woman. Without a political soapbox. And they're even in Bravo Company. Intriguing.

Also, I find it oddly hilarious to see you posting things about NCIS. That could just be me, though.

I think we should just delete today. Fortunately it is almost over for me, for which I am very grateful.

Give me three facts about Nate. Or can I ask for three facts about someone you haven't written? In which case, three facts about Abby Sciuto.

Hope the day improves for you.

ARI!!!

Also I am very, very intrigued by Jeremy Renner in a war movie.

#4 - I thought that performance of "Know Your Enemy" was great, particularly because of the way they incorporated Stephen's patriotic hymn in there.

Character meme: Cooper!

(Also, how does one find the first few eps of "Southland"? I'm TRYING to watch, but I want to start at the beginning.)

Colbert or Rahm icon? Dilemmas!

I have been listening to the new(est) Green Day for two days straight. I love them mightily.

Also, I'm on a wallpaper making kick. Do you want something?

Saying hi and commenting on your comments:

I have never watched NCIS, but based on your writing and your opinion, I will definitely take a look.

The Hurt Locker - really liked the trailer (along with The Moon - because I love Sam Rockwell and it was very eerie in a good way).

Green Day - have heard Know Your Enemy a whole bunch, verging on overload and laughed at your Baby Clash comment. Right now I'm stuck on Kings of Leon (not the overplayed Sex on Fire, but all these other songs Caleb has written and sang in this howling heartbreaking way), there is an interesting story there waiting to be told and played out between their childhood traveling with their tent preaching dad and the ache in Caleb's wine soaked voice in just about every song but really chills you in "Cold Desert" (ok I could name a dozen other songs totally better that he does but the howl says alot). I am such a sucker for the ACHE.

Fandoms I've followed, been slightly addicted to: QAF - Brian & Justin (my actual first venture in to reading fan fiction), OZ - Beecher & Keller (completely spellbound in fear and awe from the very first season till the bitter end), Veronica Mars - Logan (absolutely went from hating him to outright loving him, FNL - Tim Riggins (I see a pattern here, the guy with the ACHE always sucks me in), SPN - Dean (enough said), Dexter - haven't really found the fandom for this, but absolutely love the show and as scary as he was Rudy in hidh sight crushed me. Finally, Southland - Cooper & Sherman, because of the show and because of you.

Oh Christ yes.

Dude, I have to request Brad facts to go with the Nate, because you can't have one without the other. Though I find it hard to believe no one has asked for Brad yet, so if I missed him somehow and he's already taken, Fictional Michael Phelps, because that's hilarious. Or Omar Little. Whoever has the most interesting facts!

3) Yes. Yes yes and yes. My downstairs neighbor tried to introduce herself to me while I was on the phone, and it was really all I could do to be civil. And she also parks the wrong way in the parking lot, and takes up too much room with her gas guzzling SUV.

And I would love a deeper look into Ray's head. Rayray = love.

Hee, I love that you've already been asked to go through all the main GK characters. Does it count if I ask for mob AU!Brad?

Either him or Harry Potter :P

Crap, I can't believe I forgot to rec [livejournal.com profile] spoonyriffic in my comment last week. I really should have started a Delicious page so I could have just linked you there. I HAVE FAILED YOU. *rends clothing*

And I'm totally going to see The Hurt Locker. Go read this Newsweek article about Kathryn Bigelow.

[identity profile] spoonyriffic.livejournal.com 2009-06-25 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Everyone should read my fic, for I am using it to take over the world enlighten people on the lovely snarkiness of the Gibbs/DiNozzo pairing. It needs to be done, dammit!

And oh yes. Jeremy Renner is the shit.

And I'm having one of those days today. Or, had. Or, whatever. Today was a craptacular day, filled with twenty different kinds of bullshit and fuckery. *facepalm*

[identity profile] dancerev.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Love, love, love your writing. You know sometimes where you want to read THE story for a certain show and after you've read it, you actually don't feel the need to read any others? Your Southland fic was it for me. And GK is by far the absolute best fandom I've ever read. Is it bad that I'm super excited for some James(Renner's character)/Nate with a side of jealous Brad? Lord knows those two alphas wouldn't back down. Sorry, just had to jump in after you mentioned the Hurt Locker!

my kingdom for a Brad & Nate High school AU

[identity profile] post-script3.livejournal.com 2009-06-30 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Seriously the idea of Nate and Brad in Highschool just kills me dead. *So hot*! Whoever writes this fic I promise to be forever your faithful worshiper...anyone just please do it. all these beautiful plot bunnies around...

FYI: a dvdrip is online for this already. There are several rapidshare links for it on google...
