You know, one of the things I find interesting in your SL stuff, is the dynamic of John [who is the experienced partner] allowing Ben [the inexpereinced] to drive the show and the sexual relationship. It's pretty hot.

I think... I think that's something that's very much a John trait. He has absolutely no problem with letting Ben drive the car, because he's getting what he wants anyway about it. And it clearly makes Ben happy. I think if their relationship was truly one of Ben being sort of submissive, then yeah, John'd be driving all over the place, but I see this more as a relationship of equals. Or them trying to get to that place. I think in the series, the little bits of Ben's personality that eek out (the sleeper hold on that guy in the tattoo place) keep flipping John's ideas about him, making him a little bit more open to change.

Absolutely. It's like Ben is a constant revelation to John, and John really likes that and finds it really stimulating. I imagine that John lives a pretty mainstream life for a gay guy. He doesn't seem very scene [on the show, when he's at the bar he is shown being there alone] or as if he needs to be loud and proud. It's like he is fine with being gay and doesn't see how the fuck it should matter to anyone else or how it should be anyone else's business. So being with Ben, who is revelling in having John as his own personal sex god, must be intriguing and a total turn-on.

And now I am off to drink tea and coo over Pat's allotment. ;)
