Drink more Kool-Aid!

I dunno what happened between yesterday morning and this afternoon, but uh, I like whatever Kool-Aid y'all are drinking and wish to stockpile it for the upcoming revolution. I see how it works now though, I write y'all not one, but two, GK fics* (which is technically more than I've written since, oh, say September) and y'all give me things.

THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME!! I am totally available for bribery!!

First of all, huge appreciation and thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lambourngb who bought me two months of Paid LJ times (which uh, I kind of needed since it was running out two days after Christmas). Do you want a pony?! I can give you one of [livejournal.com profile] sparky77's!

And secondly, to [livejournal.com profile] serialkarma for my snow globe. I love snow globes.

And last but never ever least to [livejournal.com profile] alethialia, [livejournal.com profile] bijoux, [livejournal.com profile] copernica3, [livejournal.com profile] imntsaying, [livejournal.com profile] not_sally, [livejournal.com profile] pinkfinity, [livejournal.com profile] shezan, [livejournal.com profile] sockitch, [livejournal.com profile] sparky77 (keep your Orlando cooties to yourself), [livejournal.com profile] sprat, [livejournal.com profile] trolleys, [livejournal.com profile] wickedprimadona, and Anonymous #1, #2, #3 Thank you for my awesome cookies, which just make my info page very pretty and happy and make *me* very happy, so thank you that. I truly could not ask for a more wonderfully giving flist and you make me very happy to write for you. <3

*If you missed either of my GK fics It May Be Heart and Fist and Human Voice and Pefect Opening Line (which I posted on Saturday night, while the rest of the world was drinking, sleeping or committing c-class felonies) I recommend them, because I can recommend myself all I fucking want :D

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] alethialia has posted A Newbie's Guide or Even A Bitter Old Fandom Queen's Guide to what to read in Generation Kill fandom. Okay, that's like a long version of the title, but what A has done is she's created a definitive rec list of what to read in our fandom, and I've only read the first rec and I just say, get thee hence!

I would like to add, however, that she has not added HERSELF to this list, which is bullshit. A, now is not the time to be modest, so I shall do it for you. If you have a chance, I think you should read A's entire GK ouvre here.

If you are strapped for time however, I particularly recommend The Temptation of the LT from last years's [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, Some Stay, Pleasure over Propriety and Noblesse Oblige (and not just b/c it was written for my birthday).

THE COOKIE FROM YOU WAS MY FIRST COOKIE AND THEREFORE THE MOST SPECIAL COOKIE OF ALL THE COOKIES!

Why are we giving away my ponies?

*beams*

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Because you have to learn how to share with the other kids? What? That's what you're always telling me. You wouldn't even let me keep JGL *and* Ryan.

You wouldn't even let me keep JGL *and* Ryan.
I can't change the laws of the universe.

What if you could keep both JGL and Ryan if you had to take Orlando too?

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Celibacy. I hear celibacy is nice this time of year.

[identity profile] sparky77.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha!!!

Orlando looks and acts like a live action muppet. How can you hate on muppets?

HAAA!

Do you want a pony?! I can give you one of [livejournal.com profile] sparky77's!

AHAHAHA! You're regifting!

I recommend them, because I can recommend myself all I fucking want :D

Oh, I see how it is.

A Newbie's Guide or Even A Bitter Old Fandom Queen's Guide to what to read in Generation Kill fandom

I like your title better than mine!

I could never take a pony away from [livejournal.com profile] sparky77 . The pout would be epic. However I'm pretty content with more GK fic. 'Cause I'm easy.

Everybody seems to have gotten cookies yesterday, it's clearly been raining cookies around LJ while I wasn't looking.

Thanks for that reclist *saves up for xmas holiday and couchtime*

I'm not regifting I'm sharing, it's totally different.

I am just providing subtitles, yo.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
If you are content with GK fic then I assure you I can provide that. Do you have any special requests though? I have two other stories in line but I am sure I could sort something out :)

(And again, THANK YOU).

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
The cookies fell from the sky, like snowflakes.

If you enjoy the recs list, please let A know, I'm sure she'd be glad to hear it :)

[identity profile] lambourngb.livejournal.com 2009-12-08 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Well... if you're taking requests, I'm going to sound greedy here, but I'd love to see more from "Caelum non animum mutant qui trans mare currunt" which happens to be my favorite story I can't pronounce.

I loved being in Brad's head, where he was worried he was building this epic story in his head that might not translate to the real world. I live in my head all the time, so it really resonated with me. So if you wanted to do a six month later snap shot or remix from Nate's POV. Clueless boys are always good. I'm easy though- seriously. Nate/Brad love is good in any form, in any story, in any universe.

I haven't the faintest idea anymore where the hell I saw someone rec your story "Get Some", so I thought I'd check it out even though I've never seen Generation Kill. And I just fucking loved it.

So I blame you entirely for the fact that over the last few days I've been checking out all the stories on "A Newbie's Guide", and the fact that I haven't managed to get Nate Fick and Brad Colbert out of my goddamn head.

GK has been on my list of things to watch for a while now, but I think it's just been bumped up to priority numero uno.

Long story short, your writing is so completely wonderful, so thank you!!
