Your mind is the scene of the crime

So. INCEPTION. If you haven't seen it, what have you been doing with your life? Curing cancer? Cancelling the debt? Cleaning up the Gulf? HA!

For the first time since March I have *ideas*. More important than ideas though, is the fact that the rest of my support system is on the same page. Hence this most AWESOME photo from [livejournal.com profile] antheia.

PLAYING. THEY ARE PLAYING.

JGL + Tom Hardy RPF! Ahem. Wot?

Where are the Inception icons? I need suit porn! If you are interested in this sort of business though, [livejournal.com profile] inceptionfic is vomiting stories at an alarming awesome rate.

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] pinstripesuit made the most fabulously adorable Inception art, which I think is going to make excellent background wallpaper. Sorry, Benny.

Also in the SRS BZNES category, while I was shocked that Draco Malfoy Tom Felton is going to release an album, [livejournal.com profile] kattiya was not. And then she skooled my ass.

You know, his stuff is not that bad.

For those people who have been thinking about seeing Restrepo, the Sebastian Junger/ Tim Hetherington documentary that goes with WAR. I will just quote [livejournal.com profile] maurheti:

...although not life-altering, especially after having read Sebastian Junger's book on the subject, is a solid documentary that falls very much into the "stories that need to be told and heard" category. I think the Directors' Statement sums it up beautifully: "[The soldiers'] experiences are important to understand, regardless of one's political beliefs. Beliefs are a way to avoid looking at reality. This is reality."

The documentary is not easy to find, although more and more theaters are picking it up; here's a list.

Also, Sebastian Junger has forums on his website that allow for contact with some of the soldiers in the book and the documentary, as well as instructions for sending care packages.

And last, but never ever least, a video to make your Monday AWESOME.

I have been trying to educate myself so I can provide for our children.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, sure, bring the kids into it. Also, we are out of diapers, cheese sticks and popsicles.

[identity profile] sparky77.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
If we don't feed them, then we don't need the diapers.

That photo. You know how I feel about that photo. Damn you for giving me ideas about that photo...!!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I WIN! I WIN!

\o/

That photo is clearly what happens the second time Eames tries to take Arthur home. Which is successful. Much to Arthur's dismay. But at least this time he doesn't think he's bringing home a blonde bombshell. And Eames first name is Tim, because Arthur is now shouting Eames when he comes. He's just not. Fuck him.

*pauses*

Was that comment fic?

Have I achieved comment-fic? Which could be the basis for a story?

OMG!

ext_236295: (Sitting pretty)

[identity profile] maurheti.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
YOU HAVE ACHIEVED COMMENT FIC! STORY AT 11!

because Arthur is now shouting Eames when he comes. He's just not. Fuck him.

AHAHAHAHAHA!! Oh my god, I love Arthur.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I have, like, serious ideas. Like what happens after Arthur looks at one of those huge paint catalogues and then falls asleep and everything is orange in his dreams and then Eames shows up and he's the only thing that's not weird. Which by virtue of his not being weird makes it the strangest thing also. I haz totems and its tricks for Eames too.

[identity profile] maurheti.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
For the record, I fully support these serious ideas. Also, the color orange. ;)

YOU HAVE TOTEM AND ITS TRICKS FOR EAMES! ♥

Loving the Yusef dude in the final picture, throwing his hands up at JGL and Tom Hardy's silly fighting.

How astonished were you that neither of the awesome, secondary, possibly-gay characters weren't killed off by the end of the movie? I was so surprised. I was convinced their awesomeness & onscreen chemistry meant that one of them was doomed for death.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Dileep's (Yusef) expression is PERFECT. I had that same stupid grin the first time I saw the photos.

LMFAO!

[identity profile] cobweb-diamond.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
for sure, the minute eames said the "dream bigger, darling" line and pulled out the giant gun, i turned to the person i was watching it with and was like, "that man is marked for death". THANK YOU, CHRIS NOLAN.

My Monday was already awesome because I am in Seattle, shopping with my sisters instead of at work dealing with morons.

But this made it even more awesome. Huzzah!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay for shopping with awesome sisters! \o/

Though you've probably already found this: [livejournal.com profile] inception_kink. I'm still in love with whoever filled the request for Saito/Carpet.

ALSO: PLAYING, OMG.

Oooh, Saito fic! ♥

Living in a country where it's not playing yet. YES DAMNIT I AM BITTER. If they want to discourage piracy, they should have worldwide opening weekends. Seriously. Not everyone is like me and not only refuses to sit through the tiny bootleged cam avis, but also does it because she genuinely wants to support movies with her money.

WHERE'S MY INCEPTION. *paces impatiently*

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, but your country not releasing the movie is not an acceptable excuse. LOL. I am sorry you have to wait, but it is SO worth it. I hope to see it again this week so I can start writing. I already have some ideas but I'd like another crack at it anyway.

p.s. Your icon is the perfect definition of irony.

[identity profile] noelia-g.livejournal.com 2010-07-19 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I would consider going to some better country and seeing the movie, but I kind of have my thesis defense this week. Not to mention the entrance exams for another post-grad... But I'm tempted. THIS is how much I want to see this movie.

(I love this icon. It makes everything so much better.)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Oh so now you're trying to guilt me with your whole CAREER. :D Good luck this week.

Thanks :) (The question is... is the guilting working? And and even better question is: would it work on whoever sets the premiere dates for movies? *ponders*)

THANK YOU for posting that 'Footloose' clip. It made me happy and then I went and found the "Let's Hear it for the Boy" sequence and watched it about 1000 times.

Kids today, they think they invented 'bromance.'

Footloose is one of the best movie soundtracks ever.

Kids today think they invented *everything*.

[identity profile] likeadeuce.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
So. Good. Unbelievably (since I was a little too young for the movie when it was new) I had never seen it until last month, though of course I was the right age to know all the songs -- I associated them with the skating rink!

[identity profile] likeadeuce.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
I went skating with some friends when i was in my 20s -- we thought it would be a gag or something -- and we were SO disillusioned when they didn't play 80s music at the rink. Like, we just always thought 80s music went with skating, but it's only because it was the 80s when we were in middle school. go figure.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
LOL! I can't imagine going roller skating now to the music on the radio. I think I'd riot.

[identity profile] likeadeuce.livejournal.com 2010-07-20 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
With Gaga I can kind of see it? But the years where everything was boy bands or bands that sounded like Nickelback it was kind of depressing.
