Inquiring minds.

Out of utter curiosity, if I was chained up in your attic (I prefer attics, basements are damp and cold, attics theoretically at least have windows), and I had to write you one story, what would you request? (demand?) Or alternatively, what's something you always hoped I'd write but know is never going to happen?

I have a most excellent attic. *ponders the possibilities* I think I'd want some sort of modern-ish AU with Morgana and Gwen as wartime journalists (or one of them could write, the other take photos) paired together on assignment. Or they could be detectives. In London. In the 40's.

[identity profile] nearuncertainty.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I dont have an attic so i'm going to borrow Harborshore's. I love the idea of Morgana and Gwen in London as detective.

In all fairness to my respect for you as a writer, the manacles would have a fur lining, and there would be air-conditioning and a soft cushion and a full fridge at least in my attic!

You know, the Chronicles of Ari are missed tremendously. Yes.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Ari has been on strike and will not talk to me. You wouldn't believe the amount of wooing I've been engaging in over the last six months.

[identity profile] ilovetakahana.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Eames and Arthur, all guns blazing, being badass and bantering in the middle of a firefight. Bonus points for someone, pref Ariadne or Yusuf, shrieking "Less flirting more saving our asses!"

XDXDXD

There's something like that coming tomorrow, but I will keep it in mind ;)

A very intense Inception spy AU. Full of guns and hot cars and fabulous suits! And, most importantly, awesome banter. (There are some spy AUs out there BUT I CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH.)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Guns, hot cars and fabulous suits, I feel like that been my entire ouvre in some respects. Actually, it really has. Smallville was cars, GK was guns and suits were, well, wherever I can shoehorn them in :)

Apparently because I'm a masochist, I'd want Tse Atcai Aela from Eames's POV. JUST THINKING ABOUT THE ANGST HAS ME SADFACING.

[identity profile] chn-breathmint.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I second this, for reasons unknown even to me - I just think that it was so depressing and elegiac that a bookend to it would be pretty interesting.

Eames/Fischer! next silly question?

Or just Fischer getting on with his life after the inception and being *better* for it. Having made his peace over his father and... just being a total bamf about it.

Not that I don't love your Arthur/Eames. Because I do - lots!

I don't have an attic, but I *do* have a very spacious storage closet! No windows I'm afraid though.

Despite my lack of attic, I would probably want Brad/Nate, run up to the 2016 election.

Where is the story where Eames canonically slept with George Clooney at some point? And kept in touch? And Clooney is totally aware that he's a con man?

That is what I want to know.

Arthur/Eames noir AU inspired by [livejournal.com profile] fanlay's art <3

But really, anything you'd feel like writing while trapped in my attic would be deeply treasured and squeed over.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel like I do not have the required skill set of awesome to do justice to [livejournal.com profile] fanlay's art I must confess.

There's too many options! I can't decide! There would be banter and neat destinations and a lot of wine though. And it would be Eames and Arthur, and yeah. Too many options.

I'd love for you to write a story, or a ficlet, or even a drabble where Ari Gold becomes a vampire and no one notices.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
No one would notice! In fact, if he turned into a vampire, his body temperature might increase a few degrees. Oh my god, would he be a sparkly vampire? ARI WOULD HATE THAT SO MUCH. Mrs. Ari would totally have to remove all the wood in the house so Ari didn't just stab himself in irritation one day.

an adorable fluff adventure story where arthur and eames turn into puppies (who can't talk, obviously) because one of yusuf's chemicals had unexpected side effects.

lol, you asked for one you would never ever write :P

ummmm, a bit more realistic? h/c, after a job goes pear shaped, there was one terrifying moment where arthur thought that eames died. it was barely a second, and then they're up and running again. but then that night, arthur goes off on his own to break down (and actually cry) because he was terrified that eames was gone, and now he's terrified that he cares about him as much as he does. and then of course eames finds him and lots of comforting and cuddly love-making ensues where eames promises that he's not going anywhere. and/or that arhtur couldn't get rid of him if he tried :)

i'm sorry if these are weird or stupid, i got exactly twenty minutes of sleep last night and just got out of a cognitive psychology test that just ate my soul. and i am now going to nap forever, dreaming of arhtur and eames.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)

smexy/happy Arthur/Eames of course! :D :D :D

I wouldn't say you in particular, but have you ever watched Dexter? A part of me (I would say small, but it's not) really wants to have the first season re-written to slash Dexter and Brian. I'm a bad, bad person... :p

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)

You would not like my attic. My basement at least has the advantage of being warm, but probably you would not like it very much either. "Chained up in the living room" just doesn't have the same ring to it though. *ponders*

See, I'm having trouble answering this, because your particular talent as far as I'm concerned is writing stories I didn't know I needed desperately to read until you post them and I spend a week going "THIS. I LOVE THIS. THIS IS SO COMPLETELY GREAT." So logically, what I should do is just keep you supplied with all the things that make you a Happy Writer, and I'll get my wish, right?

That said, if opinions must be squeezed out of me, although I have at least liked everything you've written since 2004:
- I miss Ari sometimes. Love that magnificent bastard.
- There is no way to go wrong with any possible Arthur/Eames, imho.
- If I were going to drag you into something you may or may not already know and/or like, I really wonder what you would do with Lord Peter Wimsey. He's one of my favourite fictional characters of all time, and I think more people should write Sayers fanfic, except that I recognise it's a nearly impossible challenge for mere mortals. So you should be just fine! :D

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww. :)

I must confess that I have an Ari meets the Inception team story that's been rather stalled, but all this Ari and George talk in this post is sort of reinvigorating the idea.

[identity profile] umino-gaara.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
How about Arthur (or who ever you like) has a second personality (MPD). The second personality is able to function separately from the original personality when in the dream-scape (i.e. works with the team not against).

[identity profile] innueneko.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)

I was going to tell you that I read a story about this a while back where Eames, Yusuf and Ariadne are in a band and Arthur's the reporter following them, but I don't remember who wrote it. BUT! I see you already have somebody filling the story. So I shall go read that at once :)
