I have a mate ::waves to T-Bird:: who has no association with SV fandom but whatever drivel I write and the show itself. Her entire recap of Tuesday night consisted of ‘down with the Clark/Lana’ and 'Also! Hay. There was lots of hay in this episode.'

She was right. But you know, she got me thinking and considering that we’re about 20% of the way through the season, there are some burning questions that we need answered...


1. Where is the scene where Lionel rips Lex a new one about Desiree? How the *fuck* is Lex going to get hitched, get it annulled, and Lionel says ‘nada’? I think not.

2. When did ‘being honest’ become Lana’s new catch phrase? I know she got tired of talking about her dead parents, but really this isn’t a vast improvement at all.

3. Lionel and his redheads. Dude, he’s got good taste. You’ve gotta give the man credit, blind or not.

4. When are they going to give us some Lillian love? M&G, c’mon and get with the program. It’s not like Gillian Anderson is doing anything right now, and she is Lillian Luthor.

5. Why is Chloe this season’s Pete? Is there some clause in the contract that says only one stellar supporting actor can get screen time per season? If I was AM, I’d call my agent.

6. Has AOT always been this hot? Damn.

7. KK has improved over last season. However, is this because we can actually *see* her face now that they’ve removed 75% of the war paint?

8. Is it my imagination or has Bo Duke been cutting down on his platitude vitamins?

9. Where’s Dominic?

10. MR. Did he get better looking over the summer? Is that even possible?

11. How many of us think that Nell’s new beau is going to be a future MoTW?

12. Who’s taking bets that Hamilton will be the big bad at the end of the season? (cos as i forgot to mention, he's um, so not dead.)

2. When did ‘being honest’ become Lana’s new catch phrase? I know she got tired of talking about her dead parents, but really this isn’t a vast improvement at all.

Lana is this season's Lex, only less subtle about it. Although I prefer this approach to staving off the Clana than last season's, wherein they just pretended that Whitney was some sort of actual obstacle, I really am getting tired of hearing the same conversation every week.

4. When are they going to give us some Lillian love? M&G c’mon, and get with the program. It’s not like Gillian Anderson is doing anything right now, and she is Lillian Luthor.

5. Why is Chloe this season’s Pete? Is there some clause in the contract that says only one stellar supporting actor can get screen time person season? If I was AM, I’d call my agent.

BtVS and SV both suffer from having more cast members than they know what to do with. BtVS handles it by leaving unnecessary characters just wandering around in the background with nothing to do, or by giving us long pointless "research" scenes. SV handles it by giving minor characters thirty seconds to deliver exposition (two birds, one stone). Both approaches are equally lame. At least we got a good bit of Chloe last season, and I hope we'll see more of her in the future. Preferably not wearing the same shirt for three eps in a row.

6. Has AOT always been this hot? Damn.

Yes. But farm life repressed the hotness. Now it can run free. :o)

8. Is it my imagination or has Bo Duke been cutting down on his platitude vitamins?

Only because he's been replaced by the Magnificent Greek Analogies. ;o)

9. Where’s Dominic?

I think he's still in the trunk.

It should be illegal, looking like that. It probably is.

(looks guilty) On behalf of Great Britain, I must apologise for having temporarily stolen Gillian Anderson and trapped her in a London theatre . I couldn't agree more about having her as Lillian, though. God, I have SUCH a crush on GA. And on A O'T. Hell yes - my Martha-oost is way bigger than my Lana or Chloe-oost. She's a nummy treat.

I'm really very, very envious of y'all with the new Smallville . Hmph.

Amen! I cast her as Lillian in my mind when I wrote the first Jasmine story. We know she can do that loaded stare that Lex has and the set of lips? It would be amazing.

1. Lionel never knew because Lex didn't have time to put it in the society page and Lionel was in a semi-coma in Geneva?

2. More importantly, why does Clark tolerate her prying? If Lana was your friend and she was constantly riding your ass about something you obviously didn't want to talk about (let's make it a sexual assualt or something equally horrible), wouldn't you have booted her ass to Arizona by now?

3. I stand by my trophy wife thing with Lionel. Plus, now you could make faces at him and he wouldn't know.

4. Oh man. Yes, this is a brilliant idea. No wonder Lex has Oedipal issues.

5. I think they have to wedge the 'other friends' in between Lana being snottily superior and Lex plotting (silently) to go back in time and murder Lionel when he had the chance.
