You lot would know all about that, wouldn't you?

1. Jon Stewart Most Influential Man in America. This is news? Did people not know this?

1b. There will be 508 Port-a-Johns at the Rally to Restore Sanity this weekend in Washington D.C. They are expecting 150,000 people. What this means is: go before you go.

2. Geoff Boucher over at Hero Complex interviewed God, err, Chris Nolan about Batman 3. And? He got some answers!

- The movie is officially called The Dark Knight Rises
- The villain is not The Riddler
- Boucher is hoping it's gonna be Hugo Strange. Which was my vote two weeks back. If I'm right do I get a cookie?

3. Also, in Tom news. Several weeks back I was talking with [livejournal.com profile] maurheti and said that at the rate his star is ascending it was only a matter of time before Angelina starting circling on her broom. I just didn't think that it was gonna happen this soon. Am I an Angelina fan? No, Ari and I are not. We don't hate her, just don't subscribe to all the fuss.

4. I saw Killshot the other day. Uh HUH. I have no idea how people can see Joe as anything than insanely ripped and stronger than a 2 by 4 to the back of the head. He's lithe, but there is nothing weak or feeble about him. He's got Zero fucking Body Fat. He's ripped like a Marine. He's not built like a bloody romance novel heroine. I don't even... But you know, opinion is subjective; this is my opinion.

5. In less hostile news, [livejournal.com profile] maurheti, [livejournal.com profile] serialkarma and I have finally - yes fucking finally -- seen the pilot for Sherlock. Yes, that Sherlock. I had no idea it was a modern adaptation. I had no idea it was, in fact, that clever. Or that gay. Gracious. Do you have story recs for us? Bring 'em on!

There's at least one good Sherlock/Inception crossover out there:

The Devil's Footprint (http://linaerys.livejournal.com/734708.html)

I really, really liked Sherlock, though I am miffed that apparently at least one key plot point was lost through BBC America's usual editing-for-time nonsense.

So far [livejournal.com profile] irisbleufic is my go-to for fic in this fandom: here's her(?) tagged stuff (http://irisbleufic.livejournal.com/tag/sherlock).

I also loved these:

The Goodge Street Gambit and the Controversial Non-Holmesian Principle (http://definewisdom.livejournal.com/36181.html) by [livejournal.com profile] definewisdom -- Watson and Lestrade play a game Sherlock doesn't know.

Paper Chase (http://sam-storyteller.dreamwidth.org/158055.html) by [livejournal.com profile] copperbadge -- Sherlock/White Collar crossover. Author's summary: "One criminal consultant. One consulting detective. One serial killer. And one perhaps inadvisable bet..."

Aw, The Riddler would have been pretty damn cool. I always liked him. Fingers crossed that it's not The Penguin. Oh godddd I facepalm and headdesk at the thought. I know I'm in the minority when I say I didn't really enjoy The Dark Knight all that much. So now I'm even more excited for this third movie.

Also. SHERLOCK. So good.

Basically, everything I've loved, I've podficced. So this list of my Sherlock podfics pretty much functions like a Delicious site, because they all have links to the text files, so you don't have to listen to the podfic version. Sorry - sounds kind of self-pimpy, but that's not where I'm coming from. (Although admittedly one of them is written by me, now I come to think of it - a Sherlock/HP crossover.)

Oh! And I read this one this morning.

I subscribe so hard to your opinions on Joe's physique! How anyone could see Inception and not see that Arthur is a freaking enforcer is beyond me. Damsel in distress he is not. Also, it's conceivable that when having sex with Eames he sometimes tops. But maybe that's just me. (I admittedly tend to write him as topping more often than not, but the fandom doesn't seem to agree with me.)

I am so stupidly excited for The Dark Knight Rises! Why can't it be here already?!

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2010-10-27 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
No Riddler means there probably won't be any JGL, and that makes me sad. :(

Ahaha, that plot for the Snow White movies sounds ridic. And yet, I want someone to write me an AU of it.

BBC!Sherlock is .. one of the greatest things that has happened to my life in the past five years, for real. Some recs! http://www.delicious.com/xclo/Sherlock

[identity profile] lwdagreat.livejournal.com 2010-10-27 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been working on tagging my Sherlock recs here (http://www.delicious.com/lwdagreat/SherlockBBC). I'm up to about 40 fics, but I've got another dozen or so left to add.

And thank you very much for the heads up about the Port-A-Johns! I'm road-tripping down there with my friend who refuses to stop for any reason and that shall be a persuasive argument for a pit stop!

[livejournal.com profile] sherlockbbc has a Sunday Rec Day (http://community.livejournal.com/sherlockbbc/tag/weekly%3A%20sunday%20recday) which has garnered me some good reads. You are also welcome to my memories (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=crediniaeth&keyword=Fanfic%20-%20Sherlock%20-%20Sherlock%2FJohn&filter=all). There's about 80 Sherlock/John fics there of various ratings (mostly PG-13 to NC-17). There are a few guilty pleasures in there, but I have been nothing but pleased at the quality of fic coming out of this fandom. :)

Sherlock is so amazing and so clever that I want to make out with it.

Even if the Riddler's not there still FUCK YEAH BATMAN & Tom Hardy!! Bring it on.

I agree so hard with everything that is number 4.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-27 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-27 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw it on PBS, what plot point was presumably missing?

Thanks for the recs!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-27 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I can say with some certainty: whomever it is, it won't be the Penguin. I liked the Dark Knight a lot. I just think it went on too long.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-27 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
THANK YOU, BB!

Welcome to Sherlock Love!

Once you have seen The Great Game you should read [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s fourth episode The Dealt Hand (http://solsticezero.livejournal.com/36464.html/) which is wonderful.

And here is an AMAZINGLY well done Sherlock/11th Doctor vid that I wish with ALL MY HEART was for a real show!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-27 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Joe has always taken incredibly physical roles. He fights, he gets his ass kicked, he also kicks much ass. (Brick, Inception, Killshot, even Mysterious Skin to a lesser extent). I'm pretty sure he could drop most people in under two minutes. If you underestimate him because he's lean... that on you. Personally I've always thought that Arthur tops, but also likes bottoming. Then again I also don't tend to subscribe to the you can only do one thing or the other theory. All my stories have Eames and Arthur trading off.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2010-10-27 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
You never know. I honestly don't think Joe's thinking about work at all at the moment, but who knows what Chris might do. I was doing some facial study the other day for character work and it occurred to me that Joe might actually be able to fill Heath's shoes as the Joker. They have a rather similar facial structure especially around the mouth. I didn't think much more of it, but this morning [livejournal.com profile] the_grynne linked to this (http://flicksided.com/2010/05/casting-couch-joseph-gordon-levitt-as-the-joker-in-batman-3/).

Ahaha, that plot for the Snow White movies sounds ridic. And yet, I want someone to write me an AU of it.

I'm sure if you brought it to your people, they'd hook you up.

Thank you!

HOLY FUCKING SHIT! OMG! OMG! OMG!

WANT! WANT!

Thanks for linking that article, although I'm bummed it's kind of old. I'm so paranoid this means JGL's quitting acting, even though I know logically he's just taking some much-needed time off. GAH I NEED TO STOP BEING OVER-INVESTED IN PEOPLE I DO NOT KNOW.

IKR? IT IS INSANE HOW MUCH I WANT THIS.

..and obvs it should read 10th Doctor up there.

[identity profile] laughingacademy.livejournal.com 2010-10-27 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
From what I've heard, Moriarty didn't just warn the killer about Sherlock, he paid a bounty for every death (which was going into a trust for the kids).
