(no subject)

Blaise Zabini: Wentworth Miller. For everyone asking, 'who?' I'll lay it out rather simply, starred in The Human Stain with Nicole Kidman and Anthony Hopkins. Will be soon seen in Prison Break on FOX. With a shaved head. And tattoos. And shirtless. Think a network version of Oz. Born in the UK. Graduated from Princeton. Is of African-American, Jamaican, English, German, French, Dutch, Syrian and Lebanese descents, because not all black people look the same. Did I mention he's like really fucking hot.

Gemma Blavatsky Zabini: Thandie Newton. The consummate black widow herself. Yeah, quite the joke, no? She's hot. And has been married seven times, in case you didn't catch that part. Hell, I'd marry her too!

Angelina: Johnson: Marsha Thomason. Blaise's half sister. She goes by her father's surname and was raised by her father's mother. Doesn't like Blaise. Doesn't like her mum. Tends not to associate with Blaise if at all possible. Angelina's father, Victor Johnson (Idris Elba (The Wire, Ultraviolet)), was Gemma's third husband.

+ A little light reading, or why I wanted to cast Wentworth instead of someone else, like David Oyelowo (Danny, Spooks/MI-5).

+ I know Blaise needs a father. Ideas, children? My brain is fried. I have to go think about my dearest Neville, who saw no action, and possibly Draco crying in the bathroom and how Myrtle is going to play matchmaker. What? You know I smoke crack.

++ I believe that [livejournal.com profile] ethrosdemon will be doing the exact opposite casting for the women, i.e. Marsha as Gemma and Thandie as Angelina, but I must differ, cos dude, Thandie Newton. *swoon*

And while I'm making casting announcements, I should also point out that Emilia Fox has been cast as Pansy Parkinson. I think. That one's a bit questionable.

good christ, i am loving yr new!Blaise. not totally sold for him myself, but damn. is he ever hot.

I love Marsha Thomason as Angelina. Not too sure on the others. And can I nominate Cate Blanchett for Narcissa Black Malfoy? She'd be able to pull of that mixture of pureblood snobbery along with the grace, elegance and dangerous quality that oozes from all the Black Sisters.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Cate's (http://pics.livejournal.com/hackthis/pic/0000pqkb/g4) been my Narcissa for awhile now (http://www.livejournal.com/users/hackthis/222836.html)...

[identity profile] lillian78.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
You've really been ahead of us all. I just started thinking about it when Narcissa *finally* got some scenes (and what scenes they were too) in Jo's series. She'd make such an awesome Narcissa. *bounces* XD

[identity profile] liseuse.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I can go with new Blaise, and Thandie Newton is amazingly gorgeous.

[identity profile] calendae.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Thandie Newton. Yis

[identity profile] dorrie6.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm still looking for someone with more slanty eyes for Blaise. Though I did like your choice very much in The Human Stain. :)

Gage!!! Gage Petronzi! From the stupid fish episode of Buffy Season Two!

*dances around*

Um, hi. I am not in Harry Potter fandom, and yet I get my squee on when people cast actors who once had a bit part in an episode from a million years ago fo a show that isn't on anymore.

It's possible this fannish symbiosis thing is more than just a fancy phrase.

Gage Petronzi! From the stupid fish episode of Buffy Season Two!

AHH! Thank you! My brain was going into overload there with the whole "hey I have seen this pretty before, right?"

I always imagined grown-up Pansy to look like Helena Bonham-Carter (http://img167.echo.cx/my.php?image=hbc8270gg.jpg). And my Narcissa will always be Uma (http://img211.echo.cx/my.php?image=UmaThurman65.jpg) Thurman (http://img134.echo.cx/my.php?image=umathurmanvuitton026wu.jpg).

Fantastic choices for the Zabinis, though.

[identity profile] plumtastic.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Miller's an very cool choice, and bonus points for multi-ethnicness. (My best friend in high school was of Jamacian, Indian and Chinese descent - among others - and always got a lot of flack for not sticking herself firmly in the 'black' category. Plus, she was Canadian. There was no box for that either.)

Major bonus points, however, because he played a screamingly wicked and funny character on Popular.

Love the idea of Angelina as his half sister, too. Neat.

PS - Found the T.H. HP ad (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v621/plummybean/MW6_1024x768.jpg), and while Blaise is nummy, his ears stick out a bit. A trait I personally like, but still. :) They're like the lowere level, preppier Trade boys.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-19 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Ohhhh. They are all very pretty. Very pretty.

This is why I promote into house dating.

I can definitely work with that. Hot damn. You're good at this! Dude, you know you're gonna get all the 'he ain't black enough' comments now, though, as everyone tries to prove how racist they weren't being first time round. Mwahahaha.

[identity profile] burntcopper.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Adrian Lester as his dad all the way, baby. Smooth, smooth, utterly fucking smooth and gorgeous as fuck. Not agreeing on the Wentworth boy, mostly because he's described by Harry as black, and at first glance you wouldn't think the Wentworth boy was, though Thandie Newton is perfect. She's who popped into my head straightaway in the book. Now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind Tiger Woods as Blaise, though the only problem is that he doesn't really look like your average Jamaican descent boy does. (your other options for black British tend to be Kenyan or Nigerian (with smatterings of Zimbabwe or South Africa), who tend to have quite high cheekbones, which would be perfect for Blaise)

And also sat there through the description of Bella and went... 'damn, woman, you're reading off hackthis' casting, aren't you?'

[identity profile] circe-tigana.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Angelina Johnson as a half sister is BRILLIANT.

I still vote for Iman as Blaise's mother, however. But Thandie Newton is teh hot.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Mebbe Iman is Gemma's mum. Wow, that'd be a great family. Help me with Blaise's father before I make him Clive, and then...ooooooh. That would be a pretty smoking family, you have to admit. Also. I know you had wondered if I was going to go back and change my stories, but no, I don't think I will. That was then, this is now, plus, Blaise in Trade was always tan with dark hair and dark eyes, so...

Have you seen the leaked pilot? It's completely brilliant. Prison Break is so totally going to be the show I'm squeeing endlessly about this Fall.

[identity profile] embitca.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Can you do torrents? I'm pretty sure I pulled it off TorrentSpy. If not, I'll see what I can do. *cough*

[identity profile] embitca.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't care about HP at all, but I love your guy. He's very handsome in the Prison Break pilot and seems like a good actor too. If I had to guess his ethnic origin I would have guessed Italian/Latino and would have been completely wrong.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait until you see the show. I couldn't tell you a damn thing that happens in the pilot because I spent the whole 44 minutes staring and making noises like I was dying of Teh Hot.

[identity profile] embitca.livejournal.com 2005-07-18 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe that's what we're all going to be doing en masse this Fall. Dying of Teh Hot. What a way to go!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-19 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
I know.

[identity profile] kismeteve.livejournal.com 2005-07-19 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Guh.

[identity profile] la-sikka.livejournal.com 2005-07-19 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Eagerly awaits the fic. Also, is your Blaise mixed with English or French because Vincent Cassel! Or you can always go the other way and say that Blaise's dad was an older gentleman who died of "natural" causes. Miller's an very cool choice, and bonus points for multi-ethnicness. indeed. You can't deny the hottness!

[identity profile] tigress35.livejournal.com 2005-07-19 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
I enjoyed the Prison Break pilot, wanted to watch it because it looked like a pretty boy in Oz.

I picture Blaise as a younger Michael Ealy (http://www.imdb.com/gallery/hh/1013003/HH/1013003/ealyhs.jpg)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-19 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I know, so does everyone else, but I am very adamant about casting British actors only.

[identity profile] teaspoon.livejournal.com 2005-07-19 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Miller's totally hot, and THANDIE, guh.
