random thoughts of the day.

1. I like reading Snape/Lupin. Wait, let me qualify that, I like reading very well done Snape/Lupin, like [livejournal.com profile] hesychasm's The Persons We Were. I'm very picky about my Snape characterisation, but I do like this pairing. In fact, I prefer it to Lupin/Black by a very large margin. I'm not terribly into Marauders-era stories. This does not mean I don't read them, I'm just not a huge fan. Now everyone can run away.

2. I hope Kitchen Confidential is the next big thing, because it's extremely funny in a dark comedy sort of way. The pilot cracked me up, plus it has Will (Alias!) and Xander (!). I adore what little I've seen so far.

3. I beg of you, please do not pay see The Island. You will be bored to literal tears; even the studio is pretending it doesn't exist! Now, true, it does have the gorgeous Djimon Hounsou wearing really nice clothing and channelling Kazari Bomani, but your time would be better served by filing your nails, or balancing your chequebook, or possibly, cleaning out the refrigerator.

4. I have developed a deep lust for the entire male cast of Battlestar Galactica, with the possible exception of Tigh*. Seriously, I text [livejournal.com profile] serialkarma to wibble about Tyrol, Helo, Billy and Lee constantly. Also, Kara + cigar = hotness. If it's wrong, I don't want to be right.

*I would've linked to the BSG site or the Sci-Fi site, but they're both crawling with spoilers.

5. I heart Neville Longbottom with the passion of fifty Caprican suns. I suspect this is why I'm even margininally contemplating the idea of he and Theodore becoming parents. Without the mpreg, people, please. Don't insult me. You can just blame [livejournal.com profile] ethrosdemon, it takes less time.

Song of the day: Ryan Adams & the Cardinals 'Magnolia Mountain' off the CD Cold Roses' for all those people who didn't listen the first fifty times I said Ryan was the shit.

Helo and Kara in her apartment? I don't know how she didn't jump him. The entire cast exudes sex appeal. No wonder the cylons are after them.

It's one fandom where I yearn for a huge long orgy fic.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-26 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
You could write it you know. I mean, when was the last time you wrote something anyway? Dude. Billy and Dee and Tyrol and some version of Boomer and Lee *fans self* and Kara and Helo.

Excuse me, I need a moment.

[identity profile] lyra-sena.livejournal.com 2005-07-26 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Ahahaha, excuse me I need a moment as well. *snorts* Me write it? AS IF. *sighs* I shall just sit over here and lust after Kara, thank you kindly.

I know good porn writers in BSG, and even some that *aren't* all tied up in Victorian-ism.

But I want to be evil and see established friends write the Porn That Killed BSG Fandom, Much Like a Cylon Nuke. So yes, this is me poking ALL y'all.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-26 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen enough episodes. I would get it wrong, SK would flog me to get it right, and then I would be stroppy and sullen. But still, somebody might get laid. Lyra could do some though... :D

what would that be, do you think?

Kara - Leoben - Helo - Lee - Cally - Crashdown - Tyrol - Six - Dee & Billy and their Lurve...Even Toster!Boomer that sorta has a personality could play. It'd be like Spin The Wheel on the Hotass.

I'll be in the corner writing weird, hollow, angst if anyone needs me. *g*

Neville is extremely worthy of Love. And I always say the world is populated enough, adopt.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-26 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Neville = <3. Also, I think adoption is an excellent idea. Yis.

Most Snape/Lupin I've read annoyed me for one reason or another but I also love it when it's well done. Thanks for the rec :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-26 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I tend to be very selective about my Snape/Lupin. I only read a story every now and then, and then I generally find them through recs.

[identity profile] bungee.livejournal.com 2005-07-26 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
I'm rather glad you posted your thoughts on The Island. I've been wishy-washy back and forth about whether or not I wanted to see it. On the one hand, you have many pretty actors. On the other, lots and lots of crap reviews.

I'll trust your judgement, though, and just wait for it to come out on the movie channels. :D

Darling, I didn't even pay and I still wanted a refund.

Okay, I won`t go but... Do I still have to clean out the fridge?

Well at least Nick Brendon's not playing another gay man. The last role I saw him in was a crappy ABC Family movie. Did I mention that it was crappy?

Oh and [livejournal.com profile] hesychasm wrote Snupin? I must go read it. Thanks for the rec.

[identity profile] kismeteve.livejournal.com 2005-07-26 07:55 am (UTC)(link)
That ABC family movie was awful. The forty minutes I saw are forty minutes down the toilet.

Dude. You scared me for a second until I read the end. I'd have to throw you into a vat of...something if you ever wrote MPREG. *shudders*

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-26 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Over my dead body, but I would think magic would have that surrogacy thing all wrapped up. It's not actually going to happen, but the idea was intriguing. I think Neville would be a wonderful father... of course, you know I also have a crush the size of a H2 on Neville, so I'm not really objective.

OMG. I, too, hope Kitchen Confidential will be a successful, because I adore Bradley Cooper, and I sekritly hope for some fabulous fanfic. *g*

I beg of you, please do not pay see The Island.

Damn it, and the pictures looked so pretty too.

Snape/Lupin doesn't normally appeal to me at all, but I remember romanticalgirl wrote a really good Marauders era story a year or two back with a bit of Snape/Lupin in it that was strangely convincing.

I am however having to try very hard to get the idea of Neville as a parent out of my head. All I can see is the kid who plays him in PoA, and-- just no!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2005-07-26 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
The pictures are pretty. If you look at them in, say, a book. At 2 hours plus, however, there is no pretty that can save *that* movie. As for Neville being a good father, I certainly think he's more equipped than Theodore (who openly says he has no intention of changing anyone's nappies and because that's what house elves are for).
