For the honor of Greyskull

1. It's only taken nine months, but Dysfunctional has been updated by the grace of [livejournal.com profile] obsessedmuch. What? I didn't write a lot this year, everything was just really long. Speaking of long...

2. Yesterday I posed 12,000 words of Entourage fic entitled As We Are, Or How Lloyd Saves the Day (Again). Yes it has Ari. And Eric. And Vince. And Turtlendrama. Oh, and Lloyd.

3. I also covered President Clooney's press conference yesterday afternoon. I love our President. He's totally groovy and hot. And the First Man ain't bad either. Isn't it nice how the entire US has gotten more interested in politics since he was elected?

4. I need musak. Please.

Jools Holland 'As the Sun Sets Over London'
Travis 'Twenty'
The Wonder Woman theme
U2 'Fast Cars' (my copy's gone runabout)
Travis 'Last Train'
Oasis 'The Importance of Being Idle'
Franz Ferdinand 'Take Me Out'
Madonna 'Open Your Heart'
Jack Johnson 'Brushfire Fairytales'

Anything else you think I should own.

5. Does anybody really miss She-Ra?! When the hell is Voltron coming out on DVD already?

[identity profile] beingothrwrldly.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, I don't know why this is the only one on your list that I DO have, but - The Wonder Woman Theme (http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=4830E3E44EEC719A). And just for fun, one that I've had on repeat foreverrr, Disgrace (http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=5F0375C715988615) by Essie Jain.

ROCK! *bounces around gleefully*
lazulus: (He an't heavy)

[personal profile] lazulus 2006-09-15 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Two versions of the same song from ranz Ferdinand: Take Me Out [live on Joolz Holland] and Take Me Out [album version].

Haven't read your Entourage story yet as I've only seen two eps and am saving it until I have more of an idea of who's who. :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you watching it on ITV like a good girl? Also, YAY for music. I love Jools. Jools is fabulous.
lazulus: (is he alright?)

[personal profile] lazulus 2006-09-15 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course I am! And thoroughly enjoying it as well. :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I like to hear.

[identity profile] magnoliafires.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
What I have of Brushfire Fairytales is here (http://www.sendspace.com/file/sapx29), zippedy-doo-dah-dayed.

Also, THIS. (http://magnoliafires.livejournal.com/136538.html)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
YAY! Thank you!

[identity profile] beuchat.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I rather thought I had Franz Ferdinand's Take me out, turns out I only have the Scissor Sisters' live on BBC version (http://www.sendspace.com/file/ahzodg), if that's any help.

I also think that you should own Jehro - Long is the way (http://www.sendspace.com/file/lslxa9), because 1) he sounds a bit like Jack Johnson and 2) it's a pretty song.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I love covers! Covers are my passion! (Okay, one of many, but still, thank you!)

[identity profile] beuchat.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh look, I've got another one! U2 - Fast cars (http://www.sendspace.com/file/ne2nbk)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
*claps happily* YAYE!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I am liking this Jehro, do you happen to have any more?

[identity profile] beuchat.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm glad you like it! I have one other Everything (http://www.sendspace.com/file/jci85b). Should I stumble across some more, I'll hook you up :)

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-19 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
You are fabulous. Thank you!

[identity profile] resmin.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Have none of those songs, instead I offer two covers and a song about the past.

A zip! For me! *does happy dance*

[identity profile] antheia.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't miss She-Ra, I bought the DVD. *g* 'Cos I really AM that girl, le great heaving sigh. (And I always wanted to be Castaspella, man.)

As to music, I posted something. Uh huh...

[identity profile] antheia.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Such a music whore. *g*

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I was just reading about Tah-Da in Blender. They said it was the best album title ever. When I first heard the single on Virgin I was like 'for someone who doesn't feel like dancing, you sound pretty happy to me, but that's prolly the Anderson-effect.'

[identity profile] antheia.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I find it virtually impossible to listen to that song without dancing. I'm hoping they meant it to be ironic. I don't think the rest of the album is anywhere near as strong as the first, but there are a couple of tracks I really like, so far.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
They don't call it the sophomore slump for nothing. You have your entire life to write your first album and about three weeks to do your second. I'm not a music whore as much as I'm a music carnivore. Most of it is just gristle, but every now and then I come across something that's like grade-A prime sirloin. Actually I don't like sirloin I like thick steak. And potatoes. :D

[identity profile] antheia.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
True - there's a lot of pressure to keep your name in the press and such. Mmmmmsteak. What I wouldn't give for a nice, thick, bloody cut of steak and a decent batch of roasted potatoes.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhhhh... steak and potatoes. Nice roasted new potatoes. Or gold potatoes.

[identity profile] antheia.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
God, yes. With the just the right amount of rosemary.

[identity profile] vic-ramsey.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I too miss She-Ra. My brother and I went and saw the He-Man/She-Ra movie 5 times in the theaters. I loved her flying horse, Swift-wind.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I loved Swift-wind, that was the best horse ever. I mean how cool was it that not only did she have a horse, but a flying horse at that!

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
SWEET!

[identity profile] supergrover24.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
The Importance of Being Idle (http://download.yousendit.com/69018A9C1CA14D45)

Also, an acoustic version of Take Me Out (http://download.yousendit.com/AF20E55A52BFB666).

Oddly, I don't have that Travis song. Hmmm.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
ROCK! ♥

*sigh* If only I could write simple code while eating my noodles, but nooooooo... here (http://download.yousendit.com/BE0056FD3A5F8978), even.

[identity profile] kylandra.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Voltron is supposed to be coming out in another couple of weeks.

Of course they're delaying the DVDs of the original Japanese version until next year. :(

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, thanks!

5. I was so excited when I heard She-Ra was coming out on DVD, and then I saw that it was only the 'best episodes'. Man, am I ever mad about that! I WANT THE WHOLE SERIES.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't need somebody else deciding what "the best episodes" are! Damn the man!

"Her name is Yoshimi - she's a black belt in karate
Working for the city - she has to discipline her body -
Cause she knows that it's demanding to defeat these
Evil machines - I know she can beat them -

Oh Yoshimi
They don't believe me
But you won't let those
Robots defeat me
Oh Yoshimi
They don't believe me
But you won't let those
Robots eat me

Those evil natured robots - they're programmed to
Destroy us - She's gotta be strong to fight them -
So she's taking lots of vitamins - cause she knows that
It'd be tragic if those evil robots win - I know
She can beat them -"

In case you didn't already get it: Sam Cooke 'A Change is Gonna Come'.

Which, I'm almost entirely sure I got from one of your wonderful music downloads in the first place. *g*

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm now stuck in a quandry. Wait, let me back it up, yes, I posted it, thank you for sending it back to me.

[identity profile] notworthy.livejournal.com 2006-09-16 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
According to Amazon, Voltron volume one will be out on September 26, and volume two will be available on November 21, which makes a happy girl.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG, really?

[identity profile] adri-n.livejournal.com 2006-09-17 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Just in case this is still of interest, Voltron vol. 1 was actually released on Tuesday (9-12) here in the States. I know that Best Buy has it online and in store.

[identity profile] hackthis.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Want! Want! *runs off to buy*

[identity profile] iseult-variante.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
OMG VOLTRON. God, I loved that show. I was what? 6? I think it was formative, yo. *covets DVDs* Thanks for the reminder/heads-up!

[identity profile] iseult-variante.livejournal.com 2006-09-18 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I'm talking about! I had ALL the TOYS. ALL OF THEM.

... clearly, I was ever meant to be a fangirl.
