I give up.

I am having a really shitty time of it right now, because whomever said wild women don't get the blues was a liar, and I would love to see lots of things that make you guys happy: happy stories, happy songs, happy pictures, fuck it, it could just be a smiley face. Mostly I just need happy things. Please?

Have you seen this (http://www.scalzi.com/whatever/004873.html)?

Avoid if you hate either 80s pop or hugh grant. Otherwise, it's very shiny!

Also, some TV entertainment news show rated Nathan & Peter the third hottest brother-pair on TV today. Thought you ought to know.

The tv clip is here (http://dawnie1970.livejournal.com/372195.html). Adrian & Milo are shown first.

Jeff Buckley = Pretty

[identity profile] darksylvia.livejournal.com 2007-02-15 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I know we share a love of Jeff Buckley, my dead rock star boyfriend, so here's one of my favorite quotes by him, and some screen caps I took.

"I try to make my music joyful--it makes me joyful--to feel the music soar through the body. It changes your posture, you raise your chin, throw your shoulders back, walk with a swagger. When I sing, my face changes shape. If feels like my skull changes shape...the bones bend. "Grace" and "Eternal Life" (from the album) are about the joy that music gives--the, probably illusory, feeling of being able to do anything. Sex is like that. You become utterly consumed by the moment.

"Apparently orgasm is the only point where your mind becomes completely empty--you think of nothing for that second. That's why it's so compelling--it's a tiny taste of death. Your mind is void--you have nothing in your head save white light. Nothing save that white light and 'YES!'--which is fantastic. Just knowing 'Yes.'"

Also, the video for Raspberry Beret (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNrC6sZulng) usually makes me feel better. It's so...bright!

Hey Juliet - LMNT (http://www.box.net/public/zuqgzqyntb)

I don't know about you, but what makes me happy:

*coming home after a few hours outside and making a giant cup of tea, spreading my wet things out on the radiator, and settling down.
*when you complain about your mother, and a friend says, it's okay, I understand.
*cute guys who have yellow labs.
*when people in couples love each other that they touch each other, for no reason, like on the arm, or riffle their hair.
*that rush of joy when someone writes really good fic.
*even if you get halfway in and find that it's really not that good.
*and you keep reading anyway.
*penguins.
*especially those gay penguins in the san diego zoo.
*HEROES.

Aw...

[identity profile] elzed.livejournal.com 2007-02-15 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
The look on my friend's face in a picture I just saw of her holding her newborn son. Both parents are old, old friends, and they've been trying for ages, and she had started fertility treatment, and then she got pregnant right away before any IVF... and their son was born last Friday. And she has one of those huge, shit-eating grins normally, youy could nickname her the Joker (her husband does) and there, she is just so happy, the smile is even more expansive, and I am so, so happy for them.

So there, gushing and happiness.

Dude, I really hope your shitty time has nothing to do with babies.

*hugs*

You've probably already seen this, but Adrian was on the View today, and yes it's the View, so you might want to use the mute button, but early on he sticks out his tongue a little bit and at the end he talks about Milo, and in the middle he tells cute stories about his kids and mentions Shakespeare.

[identity profile] sparky77.livejournal.com 2007-02-16 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
And I just realized it's incredibly cruel to try and get someone who is down to watch the view, so Adrian sticks out his tongue at 1:02 and he talks about Milo and smiles and says he loves him at 5:45.
