THE AGE OF AWESOME IS UPON US, BITCHES!
There are no words that can adaquately express how I feel about today as a woman, as a black person, as an American. This is only a little bit of why I voted for Barack Obama, but it's indicative of so much more. I will always remember where I am today. How I feel. How I ran around last night like I was on speed. I will tell my children about this day. Hell, I may tell your children about this day.
Eight years of horror is over. All hail the Motherfucking Age of Awesome.
I'm so excited I'm about to stroke out.

That's what I've had ALL DAY.
As I just posted in my LJ--I hope I never ever get tired of hearing these words: President Barack Obama.
America, for once I can say this honestly: WE ARE MADE OF SO MUCH EPIC WIN RIGHT NOW.

It's called euphoria. Or post-sex lassitude. Since my clothes are still on (mostly) I'll assume it's the former.
We got it right. Finally.

Obama has an amazing ability to bring out the very best in people - as I've just said over at my journal. Watching the inauguration, I saw every American face in the crowds tilted upwards, glowing with hope, beaming with pride. I haven't seen America look so beautiful in a long time. It brought tears to my eyes.
Good riddance to Bush and his War of Terror. (War of Terror, mind, not on it.) He embodied the very callousness and disregard for human life that he claimed belonged to his foes. He hurt America more than we can possibly even understand, at this moment; I fully expect more things to come to light.
Buh-bye, Bush! Here, have a pretzel.

Yes, that. That is what I'm talking about.
I wouldn't say Bush had a War on Terror, I would just say he was a War OF Terror. He did more to terrorize the American public than any foe, any country, an band of rogue operatives. That man needs to be in Gitmo. Except Barack is going to close Gitmo, so Bush should just be locked up somewhere far away from his ranch of I'm Ignoring You.

I'd like to see one for Bush. Where would people vote to send him, if they could? Gitmo in an alternate universe where it won't be closed? (Although it should be closed everywhere!) A planet of man-eating pretzels somewhere in Alpha Centauri? (Far away from us, at least.) At the bottom of a bottomless oubliette? (Except that we're better off remembering his mistakes!)
My inner vengeful Boadicea wants to see visited upon Bush every torture that he authorized upon others; however, to do so would be to share in his darkness, and I want none of it. The time for darkness is over...
WELCOME TO THE ERA OF LIGHT!

I am so glad and happy for you, for all of you. And yes for me too, Canadian and all.
