If you're happy and you know it... shoot yourself a Crowder!

1. Conan O'Brien was in the city last night. And he had a dance-off with Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart. I know. I know. Watch it here.

2. In NINE DAYS the World Cup begins. I feel like I do not have a sufficient vocabulary to explain exactly how excited I am for this. This Nike Commercial comes close to my level of excitement. It's football, people! Real football, that is played with your feet, not the fake kind with the shoulder pads and 300 lbs behemoths. Football is graceful and beautiful and sweaty. And endurance. How can you hate on a sport where you have to have the endurance to run full out for 90 minutes? I can see some of you fading on me. I know how to speak your language though.

Presenting [livejournal.com profile] sarkastic's The Non-Football Fan's Guide to the World Cup or What to do When You're Just Here for the Hot Men. Read it. Embrace it. Print it out and use it for jerk off material. What? I'm just trying to be helpful.

3. Last night's Justified is officially my favorite episode... until next week. Raylan. Boyd. Winona's clothes! The Awesome that is Art. I cover you in hearts and whiskey and ammunition, Justified. (Spoilers for last night in comments!)

4. Last but not least, does anybody have the Broken Bells album, which is the new album from Danger Mouse and, uh that, dude from The Shins. Jesus. I have mentioned The Shins in my LJ I may be barred entrance from my favorite bar for the rest of my life now. And yet, it's not my fault! They cast Hotass Girlfriend of Awesome, Christina Hendricks, in their video for 'The Ghost Inside' and apparently people have seen this, but I cannot and I weep with envy and frustration. But like, not really, my tear ducts have all dried up.

Uh, that's about it really. Happy June!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Football is *love* baby. How, sweaty, teams of perfect male specimens love.

Like your icon :D

But but but... it's not just your boys, it's everybody's boys! Think of all that prime horseflesh. Err. Now I sound like a meat packer. Meat packer. Oh my god, it gets worse and worse. Sex is the point. Hot sweaty televised sex.

I love Justified. Every episode has been some new revel so I cannot complain. I love Art and Boyd and Raylan. I think Helen is bad ASS. I want all of Winona clothes. I have issues with Ava though, mostly directly related to the fact that she and Raylan do not belong together in the slightest. She acts spineless and he just falls into the same old "I shall save you since I can't help trying since I was born 100 years too late to be Wyatt Earp." (That 100 years thing came from Elmore Leonard not me.) As for the sex scene I'm sure that was lit just the way they intended: as tease. I could've done with more Raylan bits, but that's a given.

1. I laughed so hard, I needed to use my inhaler. ♥

2. In case you didn't already know how I feel about this: we had an admin-staff meeting yesterday to figure out how to hack the security monitors to allow us to watch the World Cup in the office.

Or, indeed, a Givens.

This is why I like you: you know how to prioritize. I have to go find myself some football icons.

Priorities. It's all about priorities.

Football (real world-football, not NA-bullshit-football) is such an amazingly beautiful game. It never feels right watching it on TV, butI've never been able to figure out why.

Because that much beauty and talent is best experienced and appreciated in person. Trufax :)

I am really, really curious about Boyd's mom. And Raylan's mom too. Maybe they were friends. Maybe Boyd and Raylan played together when they were little.

TELL ME MORE.

Tell me more about this!

I always seem to forget I love Conan O'Brien until somebody like reminds me. Which is weird, because I don't think he is a very forgettable person...So thank you. Also, I love me some Stewart/Colbert. So thank you again.

Oh, and the football guide helps a looot. C:

Hope you don’t mind someone jumping in here:

Raylan had always been one of those serious kids. Liked watching things more than getting himself down in the mud, playing around with others his own age. Accept games like Cowboys and Indians – that sort the kid was all gun-ho about. Of course, he always wanted to be the Cowboy and tended to play the game a mite rougher than most kids were wont to.

Sometimes Helen thought that was why Sue was so happy when Boyd’s mama started bringing her son over.

Boyd never minded playing Indian. He’d be bouncing onto his tippy-toes while Sue put pant on his face. Dress down to his britches, take of his shoes and go running into the woods, Raylan chasing after him.

Those two.

There’d been a chase going on there long before Raylan left and came back a law-man. When they’d gotten older, moved on from Cowboy and Indian she’d wondered sometimes who was really chasing who.

Boyd had never liked it much when Raylan’s attention went elsewhere.

Of course! It's so obvious now!

But wait, I can't afford to go to South Africa. ;_;
